Overview

TalentHR combines employee records, time-off management, onboarding, and payroll-related HR administration with recruiting and performance tools. Its broader scope includes files, benefits, workflows, assets, surveys, time tracking, document signing, and analytics. That range can reduce the need to separate routine HR tasks across services, but organizations seeking an HR platform for a very small paid team may find the minimum seat count a poor fit.

Launched in 2023 and brought to market by Epignosis, TalentHR says setup typically takes a few hours to two or three business days depending on company size. It is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses worldwide.

Key features

Hiring and employee operations

Applicant tracking covers job openings, applicant pipelines, screening questions, CV autofill, AI-assisted job-description generation, and candidate suitability scoring. This gives hiring teams tools for organizing candidates and assessing applications alongside employee records and onboarding. The platform also handles offboarding, benefits, file management, workflows, and document signing, making it more than a basic personnel database.

Performance, time and reporting

TalentHR includes performance management, goal setting, time tracking, time-off management, reports, and analytics. Those functions suit businesses that want routine employee administration and performance processes under one roof. Premium is the tier that adds performance reviews, so teams that need that specific capability should account for the higher plan price.

Integrations, mobile and safeguards

Integrations include Slack, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook Calendar, TalentLMS, Google Workspace, WordPress, Zapier, and an API; Microsoft Teams integration is marked as coming soon. Mobile apps for iOS and Android give administrators and employees access to core tools, a practical advantage for staff who do not work primarily at a desk.

TalentHR says it is hosted exclusively on Amazon Web Services, encrypts data with AES-256 and SSL/TLS 1.2, and uses firewalls, vulnerability scanning, monitoring, and intrusion detection and prevention. Database dumps are retained for one year and daily database-host snapshots for 30 days. Epignosis says its group complies with GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and the EU-U.S., UK extension, and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks. Free accounts inactive for more than 365 days are permanently deleted after reminder notifications, a retention rule that matters for teams using the free plan as a long-term archive.

Safe voice, included in Essential and higher, lets employees report sensitive issues anonymously to internal or external recipients through a channel designed to comply with whistleblower-protection laws. That can be useful for organizations formalizing internal reporting without a separate tool.

Pricing

TalentHR uses a freemium model and offers a 14-day trial. The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, has no billing time limit, and supports up to 10 active users with core HR tools. It is a meaningful way for a small team to start, but the 10-user ceiling and inactive-account deletion rule limit its suitability as a permanent record system for dormant accounts.

Essential costs 2.40 USD per month, billed monthly, with a 15-user minimum. Seat increases and decreases are in increments of five. It adds asset management, custom fields, Safe voice, and unlimited job postings. The starting price may look low, but a team below 15 users cannot buy this tier, and teams should budget for the minimum rather than assume they can pay for just the users they have.

Premium costs 4.80 USD per month, billed monthly, with the same 15-user minimum and five-user adjustment increments. It includes all Essential features plus performance reviews and public API access. It is the better fit for businesses needing those added capabilities; others can avoid paying the Premium rate. All plans include free, unlimited email support with a one-business-day response guarantee.

Platforms

TalentHR is available on web, iOS, Android, and through an API. The mobile apps extend core access to both administrators and employees, while API access is a Premium feature. This distinction makes the lower paid tier less suitable for teams that need direct API access to connect HR data with their wider stack.

Who it's for

TalentHR suits small and midsize businesses consolidating HR records, time off, hiring, onboarding, and related employee processes, particularly those that can begin within the free cap or have at least 15 users for a paid plan. It is less suited to a company that needs a paid plan for fewer than 15 people, wants API access without Premium, or needs to keep a free account indefinitely without activity.

Pros and cons

Broad HR coverage: Employee administration, recruiting, time tracking, performance tools, and document workflows sit in one platform.
Usable free entry point: Core HR tools are available at no charge for up to 10 active users.
Mobile access and support: iOS and Android apps cover core tools, and every plan includes unlimited email support with a one-business-day response guarantee.
Paid plans start at 15 users: Smaller organizations cannot move directly from the free tier to a paid plan sized to a small team.
API access is gated: Public API access is part of Premium, not Essential.
Free-account retention condition: Inactive free accounts are permanently deleted after more than 365 days, following reminder notifications.

Alternatives

HR Software is the broader category directory for comparing options across the space.

Choose Frappe HR if self-hosting matters: it supports self-hosted deployment as well as web and mobile platforms, with Frappe Cloud Sites at 5.00 USD per month onwards for one site and Cloud Servers at 20.00 USD per month onwards for multiple sites.

IceHrm is another freemium option with self-hosted, web, and mobile platforms; its open-source plan covers employee profiles, attendance and clock-in/out, payroll, documents, projects and timesheets, and reports.

Consider Ramco HCM if you want to evaluate a paid HR platform with web, mobile, API, and self-hosted platform support; pricing is custom.

CatalystOne is a paid alternative with web and API platforms.

Horilla is worth considering if open-source software and self-hosting are priorities; it has a free self-hosted plan with unlimited users and companies, as well as a cloud plan.

Infor Workforce Management is a paid alternative with web, desktop, and mobile platform support; pricing is custom.

Zoho People may fit teams comparing a freemium HR option with a free plan for five users and web and mobile access.

Runtime HRMS is another freemium alternative, with a free plan for five employees and Android and iOS platforms.

Verdict

TalentHR is a strong candidate for small and midsize businesses that want employee administration, hiring, and mobile access together, especially if the free tier covers their needs or their paid team meets the 15-user floor. Its broad HR toolkit and useful integrations are the reasons to choose it; the paid seat minimum, Premium-only API, and free-account deletion rule are reasons to look elsewhere if those constraints conflict with how your team operates.
