Overview

DigiSigner is a web-based e-signature service with a REST-style API for teams that need document signing in their existing workflows. It is a sensible fit for small groups and routine signing, but API automation comes with subscription and per-request costs.

Senders can upload a document, sign it by typing, drawing, or adding an image of a signature, then invite others and get a completion notification. DigiSigner says its signatures comply with ESIGN, UETA, and European eIDAS requirements and are legally binding.

Key features

Multiple signers and configurable signing order suit documents that need either parallel signatures or a defined sequence. Audit trails, templates, and bulk sending support repeatable work; PRO and TEAM add templates, branding, and signing links. These are useful workflow tools, though the paid plans differ more in sender capacity than in the core signing features.

The REST-style API uses JSON, with HTTP Basic Auth over HTTPS described in its documentation. PHP, Java, and C# client libraries give development teams several starting points. Production use requires a PRO or TEAM subscription plus API credits, and each API signature request consumes one credit. Credits require a minimum purchase of 100, last two years, and are nonrefundable if unused, so occasional integration work can carry a meaningful upfront commitment.

DigiSigner says documents are stored behind a firewall, requests are authenticated against the user session, and communications use SSL encryption. It also says it monitors server and storage systems around the clock and processes data over 256-bit HTTPS encryption. It does not offer direct Zapier integration; its Gmail-mediated workaround supports only one signer, making it a poor fit for multi-party automated routing through that path.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows 3 free documents per month. That is enough for occasional personal signing, but a small monthly cap makes it unsuitable for steady business volume.

PRO costs 15.00 USD per month when paid annually and includes unlimited documents, 1 sender, multiple signers, templates, branding, and signing links. It suits a solo professional with regular signing needs. TEAM costs 50.00 USD per month when paid annually and includes the same core features, up to 5 senders, and team features, making it the more practical choice when several people need to send documents. Both plans trade the free cap for unlimited documents, but neither removes API credit costs.

API packages are billed monthly: API - 100 documents is 99.00 USD per month, API - 300 documents is 249.00 USD per month, and API - 1,000 documents is 499.00 USD per month. The API plan is 0.50 USD per document, billed per document, with one credit per API signature request and a 100-credit minimum purchase. Production API use still requires PRO or TEAM, credits last two years, and unused credits are not refunded. ENTERPRISE has custom pricing for volume needs. A 14-day trial is offered.

Platforms

DigiSigner is available on the web and through its API, and describes the web application as usable on any device with an internet connection. Teams that require dedicated native mobile apps or a direct Zapier connection should look elsewhere.

Who it's for

Real estate, human resources, legal, and small-business teams are among the industries DigiSigner serves. It fits organizations that want reusable signing workflows and a straightforward API, particularly when one to five senders can handle the work. Teams needing production automation should budget for both a subscription and credits; users who need only a few signatures monthly may be better served by the free tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple signers, signing order, audit trails, templates, and bulk sending cover common document workflows.
Pros: PRO and TEAM offer unlimited documents, with TEAM supporting up to 5 senders.
Pros: REST-style JSON API and PHP, Java, and C# client libraries support integration work.
Cons: Free use stops at 3 documents per month, a narrow allowance for regular business activity.
Cons: Production API use requires a paid subscription and credits, with a 100-credit minimum and no refunds for unused credits.
Cons: The Gmail workaround for Zapier is limited to one signer, ruling it out for multi-signer automation.

Alternatives

For a signing workflow with a clearly stated free allowance of 25 envelopes per month, 2 templates, and 1 user, consider BoldSign. Dropbox Sign is another freemium option, with a free plan capped at 3 signature requests per month.

Consider Signority API if you want an API option that also supports self-hosted use. Skribble lists a free Starter plan with pay-per-signature pricing in euros. sproof sign offers a free private plan for individuals, students, and associations.

DocuSeal is an API-focused alternative with a free Basic plan that allows 10 request emails per month. Secured Signing offers a free account capped at 3 documents per month and supports a broader range of platforms. OpenSign lists a free plan with unlimited digital signatures and templates.

Verdict

DigiSigner is a good match for individuals and small teams that want web-based signing, reusable workflows, and an API they can integrate with their stack. Its strongest case is the combination of multiple-signer workflows and straightforward API access; its main drawback is the extra subscription and credit commitment required for production API use. Choose it for routine signing and modest team workflows, but compare alternatives if you need a higher free allowance, direct Zapier integration, or API automation without a paid-plan prerequisite.
