Overview

Domotz is a cloud-based platform for finding, monitoring, diagnosing and remotely managing network-connected devices across sites. It is best suited to MSPs, IT departments, system integrators and security professionals supporting networks they need to keep visible and actionable. Its breadth is a strength; the main buying decision is whether per-device, per-collector or per-home billing best matches the deployment.

Key features

Discovery and topology: Automatic discovery builds a device inventory and network topology maps. Unlimited device discovery is free, making Domotz useful for establishing visibility before paying for ongoing management.
Monitoring: Health, performance and uptime monitoring covers SNMP values and TCP services, with alert thresholds for flagging conditions. Synthetic checks and traffic monitoring are also supported, broadening its use beyond a static inventory.
Remote operations and diagnostics: Remote access, power control, configuration backup and restore, and scripts give teams ways to act on managed devices. Speed tests, traceroutes and on-demand VPN access support investigation. This combination is valuable for remote support, though buyers should compare its device and collector economics with their network layout.
Integrations and deployment: Domotz states that it supports more than 100 vendor integrations and thousands of device models. Its collector has 16 deployment options, including a Domotz Box, virtual machines, Windows, Linux, NAS, Docker and Raspberry Pi; that range helps accommodate varied environments.
Security and support: Domotz says it is audited to SOC 2 Type II and certified under ISO/IEC 27001:2022, and uses cryptography for data in transit and at rest. SSO/SAML, two-factor authentication, role-based team management, secure network sharing and audit logging address access control. Customers can also schedule time with network experts for setup or troubleshooting.

Pricing

Domotz has a freemium model, with a free discovery tier, paid plans and a 14-day trial. The free tier offers unlimited device discovery and real-network evaluation, which is a meaningful starting point for visibility, but it is not the same as a paid managed-device or collector plan.

Per-device option: 1.50 USD per month, billed per managed device per month in bundles of 10. This fits deployments where device count is the clearest cost driver; the bundle increments mean a small number of managed devices can still require paying for a larger block.
Collector Plan: 35.00 USD per month per collector, covering one site or network, unlimited devices and every feature. It is better suited to a dense site where per-device billing would be less attractive, while separate sites or networks require accounting for collectors.
Residential integrator pricing: Custom pricing, billed per home per month. Volume and annual commitments can lower the rate to €8, making this the relevant structure for integrators managing homes rather than a single device pool.
MSP and commercial integrator pricing: Custom pricing, billed per collector per month for one site or network with unlimited devices. Volume and annual commitments can lower the rate to €17.50, which may suit larger deployments able to make those commitments.

Choose the billing unit that matches how the operation is organized: device bundles, one collector per site or network, or homes. Free discovery lowers the barrier to evaluation, while the paid structures make site count and volume important to the final cost.

Platforms

Domotz supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows, and offers an API. The collector's deployment options extend beyond desktop operating systems to NAS, Docker, Raspberry Pi, virtual machines and the Domotz Box.

Who it's for

MSPs and commercial integrators can use the multi-site monitoring and remote operations toolkit to support client networks; IT departments and security professionals can use it to inventory, monitor and investigate connected devices. Residential integrators have a per-home pricing structure. Teams seeking only free discovery can start with that tier, but organizations that need ongoing monitoring and control should weigh the paid billing unit against their number of devices and sites.

Pros and cons

Pro: Free unlimited discovery supports evaluation with real network data before committing to paid management.
Pro: Monitoring, diagnostics and remote controls sit in one platform, helping teams move from alert to investigation or action.
Pro: Collector billing includes unlimited devices and every feature for one site or network, a clear fit for dense networks.
Con: Per-device billing is sold in bundles of 10, so its effective cost may not track a small deployment's exact device count.
Con: Collector pricing is tied to each site or network, making multi-site deployments sensitive to collector count.
Con: The integrator plans are custom-priced; their lower rates depend on volume and annual commitments, which may not suit smaller or less predictable deployments.

Alternatives

Network Management Software, Network Monitoring and Network Discovery Software directories can help compare options by category.
UniFi Network is worth considering when a license-free option is the priority: its software plan is 0.00 USD per free, and Network Server can be self-hosted or run on UniFi hardware.
NetBrain is a paid alternative with a subscription license based on network components and seats; choose it when that licensing structure fits better.
Cisco Meraki Dashboard requires valid licensing for Meraki products, with license keys covering device counts and terms; consider it when those licensing terms match the deployment.
IP Fabric uses an annual subscription based on active devices and cloud objects, with a support package; it may fit buyers who prefer that basis.
SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager is a configuration-focused alternative, with network automation, compliance and configuration backup; its listed plan starts at 754.00 USD per contact.
Arista NG Firewall is another freemium option.
ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager offers a free edition for 2 devices; consider it when that cap is enough for a small configuration-management need.
MikroTik RouterOS offers a free demo in 24-hour trial mode before licensing.

Verdict

Domotz is a strong choice for teams that need multi-site device visibility paired with monitoring, diagnostics and remote controls, particularly when its collector or per-home pricing aligns with the deployment. Its free unlimited discovery makes evaluation practical. Look elsewhere if device bundles or per-site collector costs do not fit the network's shape, or if the requirement is narrower than Domotz's broad management platform.
