Overview

GoFundMe Pro is a fundraising platform for nonprofits combining campaigns, donation forms, peer-to-peer drives, events and reporting. It suits US-headquartered organizations that want those channels together, especially teams with varied fundraising programs.

Its breadth is the draw; separate payment processing and possible additional fees mean the no-subscription Essentials offer is not the same as cost-free fundraising.

Key features

A drag-and-drop builder lets staff create campaign pages without coding, and branded forms can be embedded on an organization’s website. Recurring gifts and donor payment options including Venmo and Apple Pay support ongoing and one-time giving. These tools cover core online fundraising needs, but separate processing charges affect the cost of each donation.

Peer-to-peer and team fundraising sit alongside live and livestream events, registration and check-in, and Nonprofit Pages on GoFundMe. That range favors organizations coordinating multiple campaign types; a nonprofit seeking only a simple giving form may not need the broader suite.

GoFundMe Intelligence uses AI and campaign data to personalize donation forms. Reporting spans donor, transaction, campaign and channel data, including advanced campaign reporting. The integrations directory includes Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Constant Contact, Mailchimp and HubSpot. The maker describes native connections to Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, Education Cloud and Sales Cloud, with NPSP support, and advanced integrations and API access are part of the custom plan.

Security measures include PCI DSS Level 1 compliance, AES-256 encryption, TLS 1.2+ transport security, tokenization and OWASP-aligned secure coding. The platform also says it uses machine-learning fraud detection, multi-factor authentication, continuous monitoring and role-based access controls. Support and training through GoFundMe Pro Academy are included across plans, with live sessions, on-demand resources and optional add-ons.

Pricing

GoFundMe Pro uses a freemium model. Essentials is designed for nonprofits with annual revenue under $1 million and has no subscription or setup fees, with access to the core product suite. Additional fees and add-ons may apply, and payment processing is separate, so teams should budget beyond the absence of a subscription charge.

For organizations with annual revenue over $1 million, the custom plan is billed at custom pricing. The pricing page describes an annual upfront subscription plus a transaction fee per donation. It adds a flexible fundraising platform, advanced integrations and API access, making it the relevant tier for larger organizations that need those capabilities. The difference in price structure and eligibility makes Essentials the more straightforward starting point for smaller nonprofits, while larger teams should assess the subscription and per-donation costs against their requirements.

Platforms

GoFundMe Pro is available on the web and offers an API. The combination can suit teams integrating fundraising into an existing stack, though API access is specifically included with the custom plan.

Who it's for

The platform is limited to organizations headquartered in the United States, although their programs may operate anywhere in the world. It is a strong fit for eligible nonprofits combining campaigns, recurring giving, peer-to-peer fundraising and events, particularly when donor reporting and integrations matter. It is not suitable for organizations headquartered outside the US.

Pros and cons

Broad fundraising coverage: Campaigns, embedded forms, team and peer-to-peer giving, livestreams and event registration work within one platform.
Low fixed-cost entry: Essentials has no subscription or setup fees for organizations under $1 million in annual revenue, although separate processing and possible additional fees still apply.
Useful ecosystem connections: The integrations directory includes common analytics, email and CRM tools, with native Salesforce connections and NPSP support described by the maker.
US headquarters required: Nonprofits based elsewhere cannot use the platform, even if their programs operate internationally.
Costs extend beyond the plan: Payment processing is separate, and Essentials may involve additional fees and add-ons; larger organizations face an annual upfront subscription plus per-donation transaction fees at custom pricing.

Alternatives

Choose Enthuse if a freemium fundraising platform with a £0.00/month Mass Participation plan is preferable; its stated terms include a 1.9% + 30p payment-provider fee and a 5% Gift Aid fee, while its Fundraising plan is £24.99/month.

RunSignup is worth considering for free events: its Free event plan has no processing fee for a $0 cart, while its registration processing fee is charged per cart.

Verdict

GoFundMe Pro is a strong choice for US-headquartered nonprofits that want campaigns, giving forms, events and donor reporting in one fundraising platform, with an API and integrations for teams building around an existing stack. Its broad channel coverage is the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if your organization is based outside the US or if separate processing and plan fees make its overall cost a poor fit.
