Overview

Easyship is a shipping platform and API for merchants coordinating orders across stores and carriers. It is most compelling for ecommerce teams with recurring domestic or cross-border shipments that want carrier choice and order handling in one workflow; businesses needing a returns portal should look elsewhere.

Its scale is useful: the service compares more than 550 courier services, reaches more than 50 origin countries and delivers to more than 200 destinations. The advertised discounts of up to 91% off retail prices may help control shipping costs, but the maximum is not a promise for every shipment. Easyship states 99.99% platform uptime, while its shipping analytics infrastructure is described as SOC 2 and GDPR compliant with 99.9% uptime.

Key features

Carrier choice and fulfillment workflow

Easyship can sync and manage orders, compare rates, produce individual or bulk labels, send delivery updates, offer branded tracking and generate customs documents. That combination can reduce handoffs for merchants shipping from connected stores, and import tax and duty calculation supports cross-border workflows. Rate shopping, label printing, shipment tracking and shipping automation are supported; a returns portal is not.

Native integrations include Shopify, WooCommerce, WIX, Squarespace, eBay, Amazon and TikTok Shop, alongside more than 55 other ecommerce and marketplace platforms. This breadth is a practical advantage for multi-channel sellers, though plan shipment thresholds still determine fit.

Shipping API and operating limits

The Open Shipping API covers multi-carrier rates, domestic and international address validation, HS codes, tax and duty calculation, and third-party tracking. Free-plan advanced API usage is pay-as-you-go; paid API plans include monthly successful-call allocations and charge for overages per call without blocking access. Teams should size expected call volumes against those allocations rather than treating the monthly fee as unlimited usage.

Easyship prohibits shipments including alcohol, ammunition, firearms, tobacco, prescription pharmaceuticals, explosives, flammable or hazardous products, and counterfeit goods. That excludes some regulated or high-risk catalogues regardless of plan.

Pricing

Easyship uses a freemium model with a free plan and a 14-day trial. The Free plan is 0.00 USD per free, billed Free forever, for less than 50 shipments/month. It includes discounted shipping rates, intelligent courier selection, import tax and duty calculation, and smart box selection. That makes it a low-risk starting point for small volumes, but it lacks the higher-volume shipment capacity and API call bundles of paid tiers.

Plus is 29.00 USD per month, billed From $29/month, with annual billing saving 20%. It covers 50–500 shipments/month and adds shipping rates at checkout, linking your own courier account, automatic order syncing and live chat support. It fits growing stores that need checkout rates and connected fulfillment, but not teams already above 500 monthly shipments.

Premier is 69.00 USD per month, billed From $69/month, also with a 20% annual-billing saving. Its 500–2,500 shipments/month tier adds tax and duty at checkout, pre-generated return labels, multi-box shipping and 24/7 phone support. It is the stronger fit for higher-volume or more complex parcels; the stated return-label capability is not a returns portal.

The Scale plans target API use: Scale 1 is 99.00 USD per month, billed From $99/month, and includes 20,000 Rates API calls, 1,250 non-US and 1,250 US address-validation calls, and 1,000 off-platform tracking calls. Scale 2 is 149.00 USD per month, billed From $149/month, with 30,000 Rates API calls, 1,875 calls for each address-validation category, and 1,500 off-platform tracking calls. Scale 3 is 199.00 USD per month, billed From $199/month, with 40,000 Rates API calls, 2,500 calls for each address-validation category, and 2,000 off-platform tracking calls. These tiers let API workloads scale by allocation, but overage charges still matter.

Enterprise has custom pricing for a high-volume solution, dedicated support, alternative SLAs and specialized features. It is the appropriate route for operations that need a tailored arrangement rather than a published tier. The plans do not state seat allowances, so teams should confirm user requirements before committing.

Platforms

Easyship supports Android, iOS, web and API access. Its integrations and API make it relevant to both store-led operations and teams building shipping into their own systems.

Who it's for

Easyship suits ecommerce merchants and businesses—from small stores and startups to enterprise brands—that need multi-carrier rate comparison, order syncing and international shipping support. Its shipment-based plans offer a clear path from low monthly volume to larger workflows, while API tiers serve developers with measurable call demand. It is a weaker fit for businesses shipping prohibited goods or teams whose process depends on a returns portal.

Pros and cons

Broad carrier choice: comparing more than 550 services in one account gives merchants options across a wide delivery footprint.
Connected ecommerce workflow: store integrations, order syncing, labels, tracking and customs documentation bring several shipping tasks together.
Defined API allocations: Scale tiers make call capacity and overage billing relevant to budget planning rather than hiding API use behind an unlimited claim.
Volume and catalog constraints: shipment bands shape which plan fits, and restrictions rule out several regulated, hazardous or counterfeit items.
No returns portal: merchants needing a customer-facing returns workflow will need another solution or process.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, compare Shipping Software and Parcel Management Software.

Ordoro is another freemium option; its Essential plan has a limit of 100 orders per month, one sales channel, one ship-from location and one user, which may suit a narrowly scoped operation.

Sendcloud offers a free tier for up to 20 parcels/month with no subscription fee or courier contract required, making it a smaller-volume alternative.

Shippo has a free Starter app plan capped at 30 labels/month and one user, with unlimited store connections; it is worth considering for a simpler, low-volume label workflow.

Shiprocket offers a Lite plan for up to 60 shipments/month, with one channel and one user but no API access, for teams that can operate without API integration.

Veeqo has a free Shipping plan with unlimited orders, users, products and SKUs, warehouses and locations, which may suit operations prioritizing those uncapped resources.

nShift TMS is a paid, shipment-priced option with a modular Core base and optional modules, suited to buyers seeking a tailored quote around shipment volume.

Shippit offers Plus at 499.00 USD per month for up to 99,000 bookings/month and up to five carriers; it is an alternative for operations needing that stated booking scale.

Shiptheory is a paid alternative with a free trial and an EARTH plan at 39.00 GBP per month billed annually, also shown as £49 P/M, with per-shipment pricing.

Verdict

Choose Easyship if your ecommerce operation needs multi-carrier choice, connected store workflows and cross-border shipping tools, or if your developers need shipping functions through an API with tiered call allocations. Its strongest case is the breadth of carriers and workflow coverage in one platform. Look elsewhere if you need a returns portal, ship excluded goods, or cannot make the shipment thresholds and API overage terms work for your volume.
