Overview

Eramba brings together work across risk management, compliance, data privacy, incident management, awareness programs, automated account reviews and online assessments. GRC team members can manage risks, controls and policies, while other departments and suppliers can contribute review feedback. That division makes it a plausible shared system for organizations whose GRC work depends on input beyond a central team.

The project dates to 2007. Its scope has a clear boundary: Eramba is not a network scanner. Teams that need asset discovery should maintain that capability separately and sync asset information from a CMDB through the REST API.

Key features

Custom fields, granular access controls, custom notifications and dynamic status give teams room to shape records and tracking around their GRC processes. Quantitative analysis, custom risk fields, workflow automation and scheduled risk reporting support structured risk work. This flexibility is useful when teams need more than static registers, but it also means the platform is best approached with a clear idea of how work and ownership should be organized.

More than 70 ready-to-import compliance packages provide a starting point for common frameworks; teams can also upload a custom framework as a CSV. That mix reduces the need to build every framework representation from scratch while leaving a path for organization-specific requirements.

REST API requests and webhooks connect Eramba with other systems. Examples include creating SIEM incidents and Jira issues, so GRC activity can feed operational tools. External authentication supports LDAP, SAML and Google OAuth, and LDAP synchronization is documented. Locally authenticated accounts have brute-force protection that blocks further login attempts after incorrect credentials.

These integrations make Eramba more adaptable to an existing stack, but the product's asset-data approach depends on another system supplying that information. It manages GRC records and workflows; it does not replace network scanning.

Pricing

Eramba offers a free Community edition and paid Enterprise plans. The free option is especially relevant to teams able to operate a self-hosted GRC system without included support.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Community On Premise	0.00 EUR per free	Unlimited users and data; manual upgrades and backups; no support included.
Enterprise On-Premise	2500.00 EUR per year	Unlimited users and data, all modules and email support.
Enterprise SaaS	5000.00 EUR per year	Hosted by Eramba, unlimited users and data, managed updates and backups, and cloud hosting in Europe or the USA.

Community keeps the license cost at zero and removes seat and data caps, but teams take responsibility for upgrades and backups and receive no plan support. Enterprise On-Premise adds all modules and email support while retaining self-hosting. Enterprise SaaS costs more, in exchange for Eramba handling hosting, daily backups and upgrades when releases become available. SaaS therefore fits teams that prefer managed operations; organizations with requirements to run the system on their own infrastructure can choose on-premise instead. Enterprise plans include email support, and free public learning materials and a forum provide additional resources.

Platforms

Eramba supports API, Linux, self-hosted and web use, with deployment options spanning self-managed installations and SaaS. Community and Enterprise on-premise installations are documented for Docker and VMware; the Docker guide covers Linux host configuration. This gives infrastructure teams more than one documented route to running the product themselves.

For SaaS, Eramba hosts systems in Europe or the USA and handles daily backups and upgrades as releases become available. The choice is practical: self-hosting gives the organization operational responsibility, while SaaS shifts those tasks to the vendor.

Who it's for

Eramba is a good fit for GRC teams that need to coordinate risks, controls and policies, with departments or suppliers contributing feedback. Its framework imports, custom CSV option, configurable fields and integrations suit organizations that want to fit GRC work into existing identity and operational systems.

It is less suitable as a standalone asset-discovery tool. Organizations without a CMDB or another way to maintain asset data will need to solve that gap before relying on Eramba for workflows that depend on an asset inventory.

Pros and cons

Broad framework starting point: More than 70 importable packages plus custom CSV uploads help teams cover both common and organization-specific frameworks.
Stack integration: REST API requests, webhooks and external authentication options can connect GRC workflows with operational and identity systems.
Uncapped free self-hosting: Community allows unlimited users and data, making it viable for teams prepared to handle upgrades, backups and support themselves.
Managed SaaS option: The SaaS plan includes hosting, daily backups and managed upgrades, reducing operational work for teams that choose the higher-priced plan.
No network scanning: Asset data must come from a CMDB or another source, so Eramba cannot serve as the complete solution for teams seeking discovery and GRC in one tool.
Community has no included support: Teams that need email support or all modules must move to Enterprise.

Alternatives

For a lightweight controls program with a firm evidence quota, Soxify has a free plan with up to 5 controls and 25 evidence requests per month, including evidence links that do not require login, exportable evidence packs and a full audit trail. Eramba is the broader choice when framework imports, risk workflows and self-hosting matter more than those stated caps.

Protecht is a paid API and web option with annual license fees based on the number and type of named active users; marketplace templates and its Operational Resilience module cost extra. That pricing basis may suit teams that want licensing tied to active users, while Eramba's Enterprise plans include unlimited users and data.

AuditBoard (now Optro) offers flexible plans with unlimited stakeholder licenses, a plan tailored to business needs, and Optro Success and Services. Consider it when that tailored plan and service package are a priority; Eramba offers a defined self-hosted Community edition and published Enterprise starting prices.

Connected Risk SOX Compliance Management is another paid option with API, self-hosted and web platforms.

AssurAI is a paid alternative with API, extension, self-hosted and web platforms, a free trial, and published plan limits including 3 projects, 50 controls and 3 users on Starter. Its plan details make it worth considering when those project and control limits fit the intended scope.

LogicManager BIA and BCP is focused on business continuity management, with unlimited users and tailored pricing by job to be done, including licensing, advisory service and onboarding. Choose it when that continuity-focused package is a closer match than Eramba's broader GRC scope.

SmartSuite Enterprise Service Desk offers a Team plan at 15.00 USD per month billed annually, with a $20 per seat/month monthly-billing option, a three-user minimum, unlimited solutions and 5,000 records per solution. That is a more bounded service-desk option than Eramba's uncapped-user GRC plans.

Vero AI uses custom pricing based on program scope rather than per seat or per control.

Verdict

Eramba is a strong fit for organizations that want a configurable GRC system with extensive framework coverage, integrations and a choice between self-hosting and managed SaaS. Community makes it accessible to teams able to own operations, while Enterprise adds support or vendor-managed hosting. Look elsewhere if network discovery is central to the requirement, or plan to supply Eramba with asset information from a CMDB.
