Overview

EZdoc AI Certificate Maker turns plain-language prompts into certificates, with browser editing, batch creation and several download formats. It suits teams that need branded certificates from recipient data and want API access without committing to a high-volume platform. Its main trade-off is a modest free allowance and monthly copy limits on paid plans.

Key features

EZdoc says it can generate a print-ready certificate PDF in about 30 seconds from a plain-language description. The preview updates as fields are edited in the browser, so users can refine details before downloading. Fourteen ready-made templates and AI variations cover occasions such as graduation, training, achievement and volunteer recognition; however, paid Starter is where the much larger 260+ template library begins.

For batch work, users can upload a CSV roster, while paid workflows also support Excel, Google Sheets and HubSpot data. Results can be delivered by email or Google Drive, with SFTP reserved for Growth and Scale. The certificate page describes PDF, webpage and image downloads in letter or A4 landscape formats. Branding controls include an SVG or image logo and colors specified by name or hex code. The REST API is included on every paid plan, making the product more adaptable to an existing workflow than a download-only maker.

EZdoc states that data is protected with TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest, and users can choose generated-file retention from one hour to seven days. It says user data is not shared or sold, and is not used to train AI. Support emails go directly to founder Jason Dorn, who says he is the company's only employee; that gives a clear contact point, but teams needing a larger support organization should weigh the small company structure.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, billed $0 /forever. It allows 25 copies per month, three lifetime designs, CSV and XLSX upload, and creation, preview, editing and refinement. The certificate page also offers three free generations with no credit card and no subscription required to try it. The distinction matters: the monthly copy allowance is not the same as the three lifetime designs, and free usage does not include downloads.

One-time credits cost 3.00 USD per once, billed $3, and unlock downloads once; credits never expire. It is the low-commitment choice for occasional output, but not a substitute for an ongoing workflow or recurring bulk use.

Starter costs 19.00 USD per month, billed $19 /mo, and includes 1,000 copies per month, eight designs per month, the 260+ template library, REST API access, Google Sheets and recipient email delivery. It fits a small recurring program that needs API or spreadsheet workflows, but the copy and design quotas constrain larger campaigns.

Growth costs 49.00 USD per month, billed $49 /mo, for 5,000 copies and 18 designs per month, SFTP delivery and 5,000 API requests per hour. Scale costs 99.00 USD per month, billed $99 /mo, for 20,000 copies and 40 designs per month, custom branding and 10,000 API requests per hour. Growth is the step up for higher throughput or SFTP; Scale fits the largest stated quotas and custom branding. Both retain monthly copy and design ceilings.

Platforms

EZdoc is available on web and through an API. The API is included with every paid plan, while the free plan supports uploads and browser-based creation but not downloads. That split is useful for teams evaluating the workflow before paying, though production integrations require a paid subscription.

Who it's for

Training program managers, schools and registrars, HR and compliance teams, course creators, bootcamps, nonprofits and volunteer coordinators are the stated audiences. EZdoc is most compelling when certificates need individualized recipient details, organization branding and repeated generation from a roster. A one-off user can start with the free allowance or one-time credits; organizations expecting sustained volume should match their expected copies, designs and API traffic to the monthly tiers.

Pros and cons

Pros: Browser preview and editing provide a refinement step before export; CSV batching and paid spreadsheet, HubSpot and delivery workflows support recurring operations; paid API access is included at every subscription tier.
Cons: Free usage is capped at three generations on the certificate page, with three lifetime designs and no downloads; recurring plans impose monthly copy and design quotas; SFTP and custom branding are held for higher tiers.

Verdict

Choose EZdoc when a team wants branded, editable certificates generated from recipient data, with a paid API path and clear volume tiers. Its browser workflow and integrations suit repeat programs, while the free caps and monthly quotas make it a weaker fit for high-volume needs that exceed those limits or for buyers who require more than the stated small-team support structure.
