Overview

Fabric is a connected workspace for people who need files, notes, meetings, research and project work together. It suits founders, independent professionals and teams coordinating work across connected apps; its breadth is useful, but storage, upload and AI allowances vary sharply by plan.

The product combines a visual canvas, writing tools, tasks, project management and meeting capture with AI search and agents. That makes it a stronger fit for people who want one workspace to organize and act on information than for someone looking only for a focused note-taking tool.

Key features

Fabric brings files, clients, notes, meetings and research into a shared workspace. Meeting recording, transcription and AI summaries support turning conversations into searchable material, while AI note search can help retrieve information across it. Its visual canvas and writing tools add room to organize and develop ideas; tasks and project management extend the product into follow-up work.

Fabric advertises more than 50 integrations, including Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Figma and Salesforce. Its AI can act across connected apps to send emails, create tasks, update CRMs and retrieve invoices. That cross-app reach is a meaningful advantage for teams trying to connect information with routine work, but it is unnecessary overhead for users who only need to capture notes.

AI agents can summarize calls, draft status updates, monitor competitors and prepare for meetings. Spaces can also be published as client or stakeholder portals without requiring viewers to log in, and shared content can be password-protected. Those features make Fabric relevant to agencies and teams that need to share selected work externally without asking clients to join.

Fabric says files are encrypted at rest with 256-bit AES and data in transit is protected by SSL/TLS. Users can delete their data, opt out of anonymized aggregated service-improvement data and grant or deny phone permissions.

Pricing

Fabric has a free plan and a free trial. Paid individual plans are billed yearly, so the monthly figures below are annual-plan equivalents. Fabric says subscriptions can be cancelled at any time but does not offer refunds, making the annual commitment worth checking before upgrading.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Plus	8.00 USD per month; billed yearly at $96/yr	50GB storage, 50MB file uploads, 100 spaces and light AI usage.
Pro	18.00 USD per month; billed yearly at $216/yr	250GB storage, 5GB file uploads, unlimited spaces, moderate AI usage and up to 10 scheduled AI jobs.
Max	54.00 USD per month; billed yearly at $648/yr	1TB storage, 5GB file uploads, unlimited spaces, heavy AI usage and up to 50 scheduled jobs.
Teams	16.00 USD per month per user; billed yearly	2TB+ storage, 5GB file uploads, unlimited spaces and a 14 day free trial.
Enterprise	Custom pricing; billed yearly	More usage, priority support, account management, deep organizational access control and enterprise analytics.

Plus is the lower-cost paid entry point, but its 50MB upload cap and 100-space ceiling make it a constrained fit for large files or sprawling projects. Pro raises the upload limit to 5GB and removes the space cap, while adding scheduled AI jobs; it is the more practical individual tier for ongoing project work. Max targets heavier storage and AI use, though its file-upload limit remains 5GB. Teams charges per user and offers 2TB+ storage, which may suit collaborative work; Enterprise adds organizational controls and support for buyers needing those provisions.

Platforms

Fabric supports web, iOS, Android and a browser extension, with desktop listed among the environments its users span. That reach gives individuals and teams several ways to access a shared workspace. API is also included among its supported platforms.

Who it's for

Fabric is a sensible choice for founders, solopreneurs, agencies, creatives, students, researchers and teams whose work crosses notes, meetings, files and project follow-up. Client portals and app integrations are particularly relevant to agencies and teams collaborating externally. Fabric says more than 300,000 people use it across web, desktop, mobile and its browser extension.

It is less compelling for someone who wants only a specialized recorder, note app or writing tool, or for users whose storage and upload needs exceed a chosen plan's caps. Teams should also account for per-user billing, while individual subscribers should weigh annual billing against the no-refund policy.

Pros and cons

Pros: One workspace spans files, notes, meetings and project work, reducing the need to separate those materials by type.
Pros: More than 50 integrations and cross-app AI actions connect workspace information to tools such as Gmail, Slack and Salesforce.
Pros: Password-protected portals let clients and stakeholders view shared spaces without logging in.
Cons: Storage, space counts, upload sizes and AI usage differ by plan, so the right tier depends on workload rather than price alone.
Cons: Individual paid plans are billed yearly and subscriptions are non-refundable, limiting the flexibility of a paid trial by subscription.
Cons: Max costs 54.00 USD per month billed yearly, yet its 5GB file-upload limit is the same as Pro.

Alternatives

For a narrower workflow, consider AI Note-Taking Apps, Meeting Recording Software, Voice Note Apps, AI Research Assistants, AI Script Writing Software or Code Snippet Managers.

Verdict

Choose Fabric if your work spans several kinds of material and you want connected AI actions, meeting capture and client sharing in one workspace. Its broad toolset and integrations are the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if you need a focused single-purpose app, predictable free-tier limits or more generous upload capacity at the top individual tier.
