Overview

Factor4 brings physical gift cards, e-gift cards and loyalty cards into one merchant program. A gift card can also act as a loyalty card, letting a business combine stored value and repeat-purchase rewards on the same card rather than operate wholly separate programs. Transactions process in real time at the point of sale, with support for in-store, online and mobile shopping.

Customers can receive gift cards by text or email through a web portal. Merchants can track card activity and balances, run transaction and outstanding-card reports, and use a virtual terminal for gift and loyalty transactions. This makes the platform more useful to businesses that want operational visibility alongside card sales than to those seeking only a basic digital voucher tool.

Key features

Gift cards and loyalty

Merchants can choose custom or pre-designed physical cards, deploy digital gift cards, and use loyalty programs to reward repeat purchases. Loyalty tracking captures customer data and behavior at the point of sale, giving businesses a way to connect rewards with customer activity. Custom card design, production and merchandising materials extend the program beyond checkout, though the value of those services will depend on how much a merchant wants a branded physical-card presence.

The branded gift card app lets customers pay by phone, add funds, check balances and view transaction histories. Factor4 also links to iOS and Android gift and loyalty apps. These options broaden access beyond physical cards, while the platform's balance lookup, redemption tracking and bulk gifting address common gift-card operations.

Integrations and API

Factor4 lists integrations with Clover, Toast, Shopify, Epos Now, GoTab and other POS systems, gateways, shopping carts and ordering platforms. Shopify supports purchasing and redeeming both physical and e-gift cards, a useful distinction for merchants selling across online and in-store channels. RewardOS exposes setup, campaign, transaction and reporting API functions, giving teams a route to connect program operations with their own systems.

For merchants whose existing POS or commerce tools are covered, this combination of integrations and API functions can reduce the need to treat gift and loyalty programs as a separate workflow. Factor4 also supports salon POS integration, which may matter to service businesses evaluating the Salon Gift Card Software category.

Merchant operations and security

The merchant portal combines transaction and outstanding-card reporting with merchant information, balance checks and a virtual terminal. Factor4 describes transactions as securely processed in real time at the point of sale. Its privacy notice says payment data is handled and stored by Authorize.net and Stripe. The company also describes partner and merchant support, including technical support and account maintenance through a Director of Customer Success and Training.

Pricing

Factor4 is paid, with custom pricing. Its homepage promotes unlimited transactions and a low monthly program fee, but directs merchants to request a quote. Unlimited transactions may appeal to businesses expecting high gift-card activity, but the monthly program fee still needs to be assessed against the size and shape of the merchant's program. There are no published plan tiers to compare; prospective buyers should request a quote that reflects their locations, channels and intended use.

Platforms

Factor4 supports Android, iOS, web and API access. That mix covers customers using mobile apps, merchants working through the portal, and teams integrating program functions into other systems. The listed iOS and Android apps, together with the web portal and API, make the platform relevant to businesses serving customers across mobile and in-person channels.

Who it's for

Factor4 serves businesses from small and midsize merchants to Fortune 500 companies, with customized solutions for their needs. It is best suited to operators that want stored-value cards and loyalty in one program, need reporting and balance tools, or already use a supported POS or commerce platform. Its breadth is less compelling for a business that wants a simple gift-card product without loyalty, integrations or merchant-side reporting, especially if it needs a clearly priced off-the-shelf plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Gift cards can also function as loyalty cards, consolidating stored value and rewards for merchants that want a combined program.
Pros: Real-time processing, redemption tracking, balance lookup and merchant reporting support day-to-day program operations.
Pros: POS integrations and RewardOS API functions offer multiple paths to fit the program into an existing commerce stack.
Pros: Physical cards, digital cards, a branded app and bulk gifting give merchants several ways to serve customers.
Cons: Custom pricing requires a quote, so merchants cannot compare a published monthly fee before engaging with the provider.
Cons: Businesses looking only for a basic gift-card tool may be paying for a broader merchant program than they need.

Alternatives

PandaCue is another paid platform available on Android, iOS, web and API; consider it if you want to compare a broadly similar platform footprint.

Facilipay is a paid alternative with a free trial and a Core plan at 25.00 EUR per month, billed €25/mo per location, plus 2.7% when funds are loaded via Facilipay. Its Core plan includes gift cards, loyalty, a digital wallet and donations. Choose it if those listed capabilities and per-location pricing better match your program.

Wrapped is a paid alternative with a free trial. Its Basic plan is 49.00 USD per month, or $468/year billed annually ($39 /month), and covers up to 3 sites with 50 new gift card activations per month or 600 per year. It may suit a smaller operation that can work within those activation and site limits and prefers a stated plan price.

WellnessLiving offers a free plan and trial, with a Starter plan at 62.00 USD per month billed annually. Its listed Starter features include one staff member, classes and appointments booking, Achieve Client App and Elevate Staff App; consider it if those broader booking and staff tools are a better fit.

Agenda+ has a free plan and trial, plus a Gratis plan at 0.00 USD per free and a Plus plan at 9.00 USD per month billed por mes. It is worth comparing for buyers seeking a freemium salon-oriented alternative.

MaxiManage is a freemium alternative with a free Employee Management plan and a paid KDS & Kitchen Operations plan at 220.00 EUR per year. Its focus makes it a better comparison when employee management or kitchen operations are the priority rather than gift and loyalty programs.

MPOS Software is a paid Windows platform with a free evaluation download for a single-computer enterprise license; consider it if Windows deployment and a single-computer evaluation are central to your decision.

SalonHub360 is a freemium alternative with a Starter plan at 19.99 USD per month, billed $19.99/month, for one staff member, online booking, a full service menu, client management and basic appointment reminders. It may fit a salon seeking those appointment and client tools alongside a lower-priced entry plan.

Verdict

Factor4 is a strong candidate for merchants that want stored-value gift cards and loyalty rewards tied to real-time point-of-sale activity, with reporting and integration options to fit an established commerce stack. The main reason to choose it is that breadth; the main reason to look elsewhere is the custom monthly fee, which leaves cost fit to a quote rather than a published plan comparison. Request pricing if the combined program matches your needs, and compare simpler or openly priced alternatives if it does not.
