Overview

FraudLabs Pro is an online order-screening service for merchants that need a risk signal before accepting a payment. It suits teams that want configurable checks through storefront modules or a REST API; its main constraint is that monthly query and validation-rule allowances shape how far each plan can scale.

It assigns transactions a fraud score with an approve, review, or reject recommendation. Its checks span order, customer, device and blacklist signals, while merchant decisions feed its fraud-pattern learning.

Key features

Risk decisions and checks

Signals include IP location and proxy use, billing and shipping addresses, accounts, email, disposable phone numbers, cards, transactions, devices and blacklists. Real-time scoring, device fingerprinting and custom rules allow screening to reflect a merchant’s risk process. The breadth is useful, but the plan’s validation-rule cap can limit how much of that flexibility a smaller account can configure.

Machine learning draws on transaction history and merchants’ approval, rejection and blacklisting actions to learn fraud patterns. That gives the service a feedback loop grounded in merchant decisions, rather than making its score a guarantee against losses. FraudLabs Pro does not offer a chargeback guarantee.

Integrations and operations

Ready-made modules cover Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, BigCommerce, OpenCart, WHMCS and other platforms, alongside a REST API. That makes it a plausible fit for both store-based setups and teams integrating screening into their own systems. It supports online transactions. The Micro plan includes Android and iOS apps.

Order-related information is processed to assess fraud; the privacy policy provides a way to request deletion or opt out of sale of personal data. The data-processing terms refer to technical and organizational security measures appropriate to personal-data risks, including GDPR Article 32 measures.

Pricing

Subscriptions are monthly, with no yearly subscription. Micro is free and limited to businesses with monthly sales under 25K USD. It includes 500 queries per month, 5 validation rules, no grouping rules or sub accounts, 50 custom blacklists and Standard Support. That is a low-cost entry point, but its query and rule caps make it better suited to modest screening needs than a growing operation.

Paid plans add query capacity, validation rules, grouping rules, sub accounts and Priority Support, but costs rise alongside those allowances:

Plan	Price	Monthly queries	Validation rules	Grouping rules	Sub accounts	Custom blacklists
Mini	29.95 USD per month	1,500	5	1	0	150
Small	99.95 USD per month	5,000	10	2	1	500
Medium	249.95 USD per month	25,000	20	5	2	2,500
Large	499.95 USD per month	100,000	30	10	4	10,000
Enterprise	1249.95 USD per month	500,000	40	20	8	50,000

Mini is the least expensive paid step, with one grouping rule but no sub accounts; it suits a small operation that has outgrown Micro’s 500-query ceiling. Small and above add sub accounts, while larger plans raise query and rule limits for heavier or more segmented workloads. The sign-up page offers a free 14-day Medium trial, a useful way to assess a higher-capacity tier before committing. The listed included-transactions figure is 1,500 transactions per month; compare that allowance with the plan-specific query quotas when estimating fit.

Platforms

FraudLabs Pro supports Android, iOS, web and API access. Its storefront modules cover several major commerce platforms, and the REST API gives teams another integration path. Mobile apps are included with Micro.

Who it's for

FraudLabs Pro fits businesses from startups to enterprises that accept online payments and want to reduce fraud risk through configurable order checks. It is particularly relevant when a team can act on approve, review and reject recommendations and needs integrations with a supported storefront or API. Merchants needing a chargeback guarantee should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad order and device signals, real-time scoring and merchant-informed learning support more than a single-factor check.
Pros: Storefront modules and a REST API offer multiple integration routes; Micro adds mobile apps without a subscription fee.
Pros: Monthly tiers make query, rule, grouping and sub-account growth visible as needs expand.
Cons: Micro permits only 500 queries monthly and five validation rules, constraining free use.
Cons: Paid pricing rises from 29.95 USD per month, and even the paid tiers cap rules and sub accounts.
Cons: It screens and recommends; it does not guarantee against chargebacks.

Alternatives

IPQualityScore Fraud Prevention is worth comparing for teams that want a free tier with 1,000 monthly lookups, 10 custom rules and self-hosted availability; its free allowance also caps daily lookups at 35 and CSV uploads at three per day.

Stripe Radar offers AI fraud prevention for card payments and card testing at no additional charge for businesses on standard payments pricing, making it an alternative to consider when that payment context fits.

Ravelin offers a customized platform tailored to business goals, risk appetite and setup, with custom pricing.

Vesta, DataVisor Fraud Platform, Riskified and Sift Payment Protection are paid alternatives. DataVisor describes a custom enterprise platform and invites demo requests; Sift invites contact about Payment Protection.

Braintree ACH Direct Debit is a paid ACH direct-debit option priced at 0.75 USD per transaction, capped at $5.00, for eligible merchants and US accounts; it addresses a different payment need.

Verdict

Choose FraudLabs Pro if your team wants configurable online order screening, a range of commerce integrations and a plan ladder that grows to 500,000 queries per month. Its free tier and 14-day Medium trial lower the barrier to evaluation, but query and validation-rule caps deserve close attention, and it is not a substitute for chargeback coverage.
