Overview

Shoppers upload a photo, which Fitly combines with a product image to generate a preview in 10–20 seconds. Fitly can detect or pull product images from a connected store, avoiding manual uploads, 3D scanning and special photography. That keeps merchant setup lighter, though shoppers still need to be comfortable uploading a photo to use the feature.

Key features

The widget supports clothing, cosmetics and jewelry. Merchants can customize its colors, button text and position, and white-labeling is available. Integrations cover Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace and Wix; custom-built sites can use a script tag, while API access gives development teams another route to integrate the service.

Image handling deserves attention before deployment. Shopper photos are automatically deleted within 24 hours, but generated try-on images remain until the merchant deletes them. Depending on merchant configuration, Google Gemini, xAI (Grok) and Replicate may receive shopper photos and garment images for generation. Shoppers do not need an account, and the widget does not set cookies or track them across sites or sessions.

Fitly lists approved-domain restrictions, HTTPS image URLs, SSRF protection, a 5 MB upload limit and API-key authentication for endpoints. Stripe processes merchant payments, and Fitly says it does not store credit card numbers. Paid tiers include email, priority or dedicated support depending on plan, but there is no formal SLA.

Pricing

Fitly has a free plan and three paid monthly tiers. The main pricing decision is how many try-ons a store expects to support: the entry plan is inexpensive, but its quota may constrain a busy launch or campaign.

Free — 0.00 USD per month (billed $0/month): 3 try-ons per month, 1 product, basic widget customization and a Powered by Fitly badge. It is suitable for a small evaluation, not a meaningful ongoing storefront rollout.
Starter — 29.00 USD per month (billed $29/month): 150 try-ons per month, unlimited products, custom widget styling, branding removal and email support. This is the practical entry tier for a small store that needs its own look, though the quota remains modest.
Growth — 79.00 USD per month (billed $79/month): 500 try-ons per month and priority support. It triples Starter's monthly allowance, making it a better fit for stores with more regular shopper use.
Scale — 199.00 USD per month (billed $199/mo): 2,000 try-ons per month, dedicated support and custom integrations. It suits larger deployments that need a higher quota or integration work, though the plan still has a fixed monthly cap.

Platforms

Fitly is available via web and API. Its widget supports Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace and Wix, as well as custom-built sites that can load a script tag. That breadth favors merchants extending an existing store over teams seeking a standalone native mobile app.

Who it's for

Fitly is best for online merchants selling clothing, cosmetics or jewelry who want a branded try-on widget without building a 3D product pipeline. Developers can use the API or script-tag approach to fit the feature into a custom storefront. It is a weaker fit for businesses that need a formal service-level agreement, or whose expected try-on volume exceeds the plan caps.

Pros and cons

Pro: Store-image detection and retrieval reduce product setup work by avoiding manual uploads, 3D scans and special photography.
Pro: Widget styling, branding removal on Starter and above, store integrations and API access give merchants several ways to adapt the experience to their storefront.
Pro: No shopper account, cross-site tracking or widget cookies are required, and shopper photos are deleted within 24 hours.
Con: The free tier allows just 3 try-ons per month and one product, limiting its value beyond initial evaluation.
Con: Generated images persist until the merchant deletes them, and configured AI providers may receive both shopper photos and garment images.
Con: Fitly offers no formal SLA, which may be a concern for stores that depend on contracted availability.

Alternatives

TryOn Virtual is worth comparing for teams seeking a free plan with 25 monthly try-on sessions and three free AI-built 3D models; usage pauses at its limit. Tryonixs suits stores that want an Android or iOS option alongside web and API access, with its Starter plan covering up to 25 products and Shopify integration. DRESSX Virtual Try-On is an alternative for buyers seeking a tailored enterprise B2B offering with custom pricing.

virtual.fit may suit teams needing a 3,000-completed-try-on monthly plan and AI product recommendations, though its Medium plan is $299.00 USD per month. Banuba TINT is a paid option with a 14-day free trial and a Basic plan at $49.00 USD per month for 1,000 virtual try-ons per month and all seven try-on categories. FASHN API is for API-only buyers who prefer on-demand credits without a required subscription; credits cost $7.50 USD per once.

Fittingbox Virtual Try-On is an alternative for teams that need broader platform coverage, including desktop operating systems, with a Bronze plan at $59.00 USD per month. TryOnCloud offers a 10-try-on monthly free trial without a card and a Starter plan at $19.00 USD per month for 100 try-ons. Browse more options in AI Virtual Try-On Tools.

Verdict

Choose Fitly if you run an online store in clothing, cosmetics or jewelry and want photo-based try-on that can slot into an existing storefront without 3D asset preparation. Its integration choices, customization and API access make it adaptable, but the low-tier quotas, generated-image retention and lack of an SLA are sound reasons to compare alternatives before scaling.
