Overview

FitSW brings workout programming, progress and compliance tracking, client messaging, scheduling, and payment-related tools into one service. Trainers can create programs and assign them to clients, while automation supports results tracking, profile creation, and multi-day programs. This combination is useful for coaches who want structured delivery and ongoing progress records rather than a workout log alone.

Clients can receive messages and push notifications, and trainers can sell packages, subscriptions, and individual sessions. Livestreaming, interval timers, and public class listings also extend FitSW beyond one-to-one coaching. The range is broad, but the relevant plan depends heavily on whether the business is an individual practice or a multi-trainer gym.

Key features

Programming and tracking: Build and assign fitness programs, track exercise progress, and use custom progress metrics and compliance tracking. That makes FitSW a stronger fit for coaches who need to monitor adherence and outcomes, not just send plans.
Automation: Automated results tracking, profile creation, and multi-day programs can reduce repetitive setup and follow-up work.
Client management: Client portals, goals and progress, forms and assessments, and session scheduling support the operational side of coaching.
Payments and communication: Sell packages, subscriptions, and individual sessions, with in-app messaging and push notifications for client contact.
Group and live tools: Group coaching, livestreaming, interval timers, and public class listings are useful for coaches whose offering extends to classes.
Gym administration: Gym plans provide multiple trainer accounts, shared client profiles and exercise lists, and an admin account. These shared controls make the gym tier more appropriate than an individual trainer plan for coordinated teams.

Pricing

FitSW is freemium, with premium features available free for 30 days. The free trainer plan includes fitness programs, exercise progress tracking, compliance tracking, a fitness blog, and custom metrics, but it is capped at two clients. That is enough for a very small practice or a limited evaluation, not for a growing client roster.

Free For Trainers: Free, with a two-client limit. It covers core programming and tracking, but the low cap makes it a constrained long-term option.
Premium for Trainers: 16.66 USD per month, billed monthly, with client counts selectable from 5 to 1000. It adds program creation and automation, progress tracking, custom metrics, compliance tracking, packages, sessions and subscriptions, digital PAR-Q forms, and document management. This is the natural upgrade for an independent trainer who has outgrown the free cap; select a client tier that matches actual roster needs.
Premium for Gyms / For Gyms: 49.99 USD per month, billed monthly, with client counts selectable from 60 to 2000. Gym features include multiple trainer accounts, shared profiles and exercise lists, an admin account, program creation and automation, and client progress tracking. It costs more than the trainer entry plan but is designed for shared administration and larger client volumes.
Enterprise: Custom pricing for businesses managing locations, with a corporate account, multiple trainer accounts, shared client profiles and exercise lists, and an admin account. It is aimed at multi-location operations rather than a solo coach.

Platforms

FitSW offers iOS and Android apps. Its mobile apps support English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, and Hebrew, and the service says it is available across 100 countries. The company says it is trusted by more than 20,000 fitness and nutrition professionals.

Who it's for

FitSW is best suited to trainers who want programming, progress tracking, client communication, and payment offerings under one roof, and to gyms that need shared client records and multiple trainer accounts. It is less compelling for a solo coach with more than two clients who expects to stay on a free plan, or for teams whose requirements center on workflows beyond the fitness-business tools described here.

Pros and cons

Pro: Programming, progress and compliance tracking, and client communication sit alongside payments, which can consolidate several routine coaching workflows.
Pro: Gym plans include shared profiles, shared exercise lists, and multiple trainer accounts, useful for teams that need common client and workout resources.
Pro: Client-count options scale substantially across trainer and gym plans, from 5 to 1000 and 60 to 2000 respectively.
Con: The free trainer plan stops at two clients, so it is not a durable free option for many active coaching businesses.
Con: The gym plan starts at 49.99 USD per month, a meaningful step up from the 16.66 USD trainer plan for businesses that need shared administration.

Alternatives

Choose ABC Trainerize if its free one-client seat or its 9.00 USD monthly Grow plan for two client seats better matches a smaller starting roster. My PT Hub is another freemium-category option with a 22.50 USD per month Starter plan, billed annually and paid monthly, for three clients plus stated workout and nutrition-plan quotas; it may suit a coach prioritizing those defined allowances.

Coach.me is a fit to consider when habit coaching and community support are the focus. Faronto offers a free plan for two active clients with a goal-first portal, so it is an alternative for a small practice centered on client actions and progress context. Helms has a free tier for up to seven clients covering training, nutrition, check-ins, and progress; consider it when that scope and client ceiling suit better.

Traneos offers a free plan for up to five clients with basic tracking, reminders, and a 14-day Pro trial, making it an option for coaches who need a higher free client cap. Everfit has a forever-free Starter tier for up to five clients and a Pro plan starting at 16.00 USD per month, so it is worth comparing if those tiers better fit the roster. TrainHeroic is another option to evaluate for athlete-count-based plans, from one athlete upward.

Verdict

FitSW is a sound choice for independent trainers and gyms that want structured workout delivery, progress oversight, client communication, and payment options in one platform. Choose it for the combination of coaching workflows and scalable client-count tiers; look elsewhere if the two-client free ceiling is too restrictive or a gym plan’s 49.99 USD monthly starting price does not fit the business.
