Overview

Fleetbase is a modular logistics operating system from a Singapore-based company founded in 2018. It brings fleet operations together with commerce, warehousing, finance, and driver tools. The shared data layer is a practical advantage for teams that want activity to flow between modules: a Storefront order can generate a Fleet-Ops dispatch and a Ledger journal entry. Teams looking only for a narrow dispatch or warehouse tool may find that breadth unnecessary.

Fleetbase offers cloud and self-hosted deployment, alongside web, Android, iOS, and API access. That gives teams deployment flexibility, but the open-source license has consequences: Fleetbase uses AGPL-3.0, which requires network-deployed modifications to be made available under that license unless a commercial license is used.

Key features

Dispatch and operational coverage

Fleet-Ops combines dispatch, real-time fleet tracking, configurable workflows, and route optimization. Fleetbase also covers warehouse and inventory management, shipment tracking, and order management. This scope makes it more relevant to operators coordinating multiple stages of logistics than to teams that need only one isolated function.

Modules and integrations

The module lineup includes Storefront, Pallet, Ledger, Navigator, identity and access management, developer tools, and extensions. A common data layer links workflows across modules, potentially reducing manual handoffs between order intake, delivery, and finance. Listed integrations include Twilio, SendGrid, Slack, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, Tableau, Power BI, Stripe, AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, giving teams a range of connections to evaluate against their existing stack.

Developer access, security, and drivers

API keys, webhooks, socket events, request logs, and separate sandbox and live environments support programmatic integration and development. Fleetbase's privacy policy states that data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2+, with role-based access controls and regular security assessments. Navigator is an open-source driver app with turn-by-turn navigation, proof of delivery, fault reporting, and live order communication; it extends the system to driver workflows as well as back-office operations.

Pricing

Fleetbase Cloud starts at $29.00 per month, billed monthly. It includes unlimited orders, unlimited users, and every module, but the base price is not the whole bill: each driver and vehicle costs an additional $5.00 per month, as does each storefront beyond the first. Gateway-paid invoices cost $0.10 each; API calls and webhook sends cost $0.25 per 100,000, with the first 100,000 per period free. The 7-day trial gives teams a short window to assess the service before committing; they should model recurring unit and usage costs against expected activity.

Self-hosted implementation costs $2,500.00 as a one-time implementation fee. It covers deployment on the customer's servers or cloud, CI/CD setup, environment configuration and branding, and a go-live handover, with complete data sovereignty. This is a substantial upfront commitment, better suited to organizations that need control over hosting and data than to teams seeking the lowest-cost entry.

Community Support is free and includes docs and guides, Discord/GitHub support, and email support, but no SLA. Business Support is $1,000 per month with a 72-hour SLA, automatic security patches, email support, and priority bug fixes. Developer Support is $3,500 per month with a 24-hour SLA, private Discord, weekly phone calls, configuration assistance, and technical troubleshooting. Fractional CTO Support is $5,000 per month and adds a dedicated engineer, two-hour weekly CTO calls, and proactive monitoring; the plan also includes release management and strategic and roadmap reviews. Professional Services has custom pricing for development, integrations, workflow automation, data migration, and white-label branding. The free support tier keeps assistance available without a support fee, but teams that need a defined response time must budget for a paid tier.

Platforms

Fleetbase supports Android, iOS, web, API, and self-hosted deployment. The combination suits teams that need mobile driver access or want to integrate logistics workflows into their own systems, while self-hosting offers a path to deployment on customer-controlled infrastructure.

Who it's for

Fleetbase is aimed at courier companies, on-demand delivery platforms, e-commerce brands, field service providers, and enterprise supply chains. It is most persuasive for teams that can benefit from connected operational modules and have the technical and licensing capacity to integrate or self-host them. A small operation with a single workflow, or a team unable to accept AGPL-3.0 obligations for network-deployed changes, should weigh more focused alternatives.

Pros and cons

Connected operations: Shared data across Storefront, Fleet-Ops, and Ledger can link order, dispatch, and finance activity without treating them as separate workflows.
Broad logistics scope: Dispatch, tracking, routing, warehouse, inventory, shipment, and order capabilities address more than fleet movement alone.
Developer and deployment flexibility: API access, webhooks, socket events, sandbox and live environments, and self-hosted deployment suit teams building around their own stack.
Costs can extend beyond the base subscription: Drivers, vehicles, additional storefronts, gateway-paid invoices, and usage-based API and webhook charges can raise Cloud spend.
License requires planning: AGPL-3.0 obligations for network-deployed modifications may not suit every team's distribution or deployment model.
Support with response commitments is costly: The free community tier has no SLA; the listed SLA-backed options start at $1,000 per month.

Alternatives

ZhenHub is worth considering when a team wants a freemium web and API option organized around sales-order, tracking, warehouse, user, integration, and label quotas. Open TMS is a stronger fit for teams prioritizing a free, MIT-licensed, self-hosted option with no per-user fees, transaction costs, or feature gates. For paid alternatives with no free plan, Manhattan Active Inventory Replenishment is one option to assess.

Flexport Control Tower is another paid option to compare. project44 Ocean Visibility may suit teams focused on ocean visibility through a Movement UI or API and more than 150 carrier and forwarder connections. Shipwell TMS is a paid option with customized quotes. CargoWise is another paid platform to consider, with per-package value-pack offerings. Infor Public Sector is a paid option for teams evaluating that platform.

Verdict

Choose Fleetbase if your logistics operation needs connected dispatch, commerce, warehousing, finance, and driver workflows, and your team can work within its AGPL-3.0 terms and layered pricing. Its combination of operational modules, developer access, and cloud or self-hosted deployment is the main draw. Look elsewhere if you need a narrower tool, cannot accept the license obligations, or need predictable costs without per-unit and metered charges.
