Overview

For couples, Folia brings guest records, RSVPs, meal choices and addresses together with budget planning and actual-spend tracking. Its drag-and-drop seating chart surfaces meal selections at each table, tying seating decisions to catering needs. The free couple plan allows up to 500 guests and 10 vendors, a useful starting point for many weddings but a hard ceiling for larger events or extensive vendor lists.

Couples and planners use separate portals, with RSVP and seating changes syncing between them. That arrangement gives client collaboration a clearer home than a couples-only planning tool, but is less compelling if no planner needs to participate.

Key features

Couple planning

Guest management, budgeting, vendor management and seating cover core coordination work without separating meal choices from the table plan. Budget tracking includes planned and actual spending, which helps couples monitor the gap between estimates and costs. The free plan's vendor cap is the more likely constraint for couples coordinating a broad supplier roster.

Planner Suite

Planner Suite adds client portals, questionnaires, reusable questionnaire templates, timelines and messaging. Timelines offer list and calendar views, five-minute precision, event notes, vendor and location links, and per-vendor call sheets. CSV budget exports and PDF timeline exports support taking those records outside the planner workspace, though the product's described workflow centers on in-app planning rather than named external service integrations.

Pricing

Folia has a free couple plan and paid couple options, while Planner Suite pricing scales by active weddings. Couples can choose the free plan, with up to 500 guests, 10 vendors and budget tracking; it is a practical way to start, but the caps matter as a wedding's guest list or supplier roster grows.

The Monthly plan costs 11.99 USD per month, billed monthly, and provides full access with cancellation anytime. The Annual plan costs 89.00 USD per year, billed annually, and gives full access for one year with a stated 38% saving versus monthly. The 2 Year Plan costs 129.00 USD one time for two years of full access and auto-cancels after that period. These options suit couples who want broader access without a planner-business wedding quota; the annual and two-year choices trade monthly flexibility for longer commitments.

For planners, Small Business costs 29.00 USD per month for up to 5 active weddings, unlimited guests per wedding and a 14-day free trial. Boutique costs 49.00 USD per month for up to 15 active weddings, also with unlimited guests per wedding and a 14-day trial. Growth is 99.00 USD per month for up to 50 active weddings, priority email and chat support, and a 14-day trial. Studio costs 159.00 USD per month for unlimited active weddings, a dedicated account manager and a 14-day trial. Each trial avoids a charge if cancelled before it ends.

Small Business is the lower-cost fit for a small roster, while Boutique and Growth raise the active-wedding ceiling; Growth also adds priority support. Studio is for planners whose volume exceeds Growth's limit or who want a dedicated account manager. Email support is included with Small Business and Boutique; the higher limits and support options are the reason to pay more rather than simply choosing on price.

Platforms

Folia is available on the web. Couples and planners seeking a native mobile app should consider an alternative with a mobile platform.

Who it's for

Folia is a strong fit for couples who want guest, budget and seating work coordinated with a professional planner, and for planners who need client portals and a defined workflow across several active weddings. It is less suited to couples who want mobile-first planning or a lightweight personal checklist, and to planners whose workload exceeds their chosen active-wedding tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: Separate couple and planner portals sync RSVP and seating changes, keeping shared client work aligned.
Pros: Seating layouts surface meal selections at tables, connecting guest choices to seating decisions.
Pros: Planner timelines include fine-grained scheduling, vendor call sheets and PDF export.
Cons: The free couple plan stops at 500 guests and 10 vendors, limiting its usefulness for larger or vendor-heavy weddings.
Cons: Planner tiers impose active-wedding limits until Studio, so growing teams need to budget for a higher monthly plan as their roster expands.
Cons: Web is the only platform, which excludes teams that require native mobile apps.

Alternatives

Wedding Planning Software is the broader category for comparing wedding-planning options. Choose Colara if you want a free plan with extension and iOS access as well as web, rather than Folia's web-only platform. Zennvue is another freemium web option, with a free plan and free trial. Choose ForeverAfter if Android and iOS access matters; its free Starter plan allows unlimited guests but limits contributions to one person. Lumière offers a free web plan with limited tasks, vendors and guests, making it an option for a smaller planning scope. Marry Planner has a free plan for one wedding and up to 30 guests, with Android and iOS apps as well as web access. NevaPlan Wedding Planner offers a free plan for up to 15 guests and mobile apps. WeddingWire Planning Tools is a free wedding-planning option with Android and iOS apps. WedSetGo is another free option, available on Android and web.

Verdict

Choose Folia if couples and professional planners need to coordinate through synced portals, or if a planner needs structured tools across a growing wedding roster. Its couple planning connects guests, budgets and seating, while Planner Suite adds client communication and detailed timelines. Look elsewhere if native mobile access is essential, the couple free-plan caps are too restrictive, or a planner's active-wedding count makes the required tier uneconomical.
