Overview

Hustle supports simultaneous broadcasts, automated responses and live one-to-one conversations, with SMS and MMS for personalized outreach. Teams can tag audience members and retarget smaller groups, a useful combination when communications need to be tailored rather than sent as one broad blast. Automated opt-in tools and a shared team inbox support the operational side of texting.

Its video options range from short Clips sent by text to Personalized Clips and longer Hustle Stories. The AI-powered Script Assistant is designed to help create creative, brand-safe communications. That breadth makes Hustle more than a basic texting tool, though teams focused chiefly on high-volume programmatic sending should weigh the API limitation carefully.

Key features

Audience messaging and video

Segmentation, tagging and retargeting give teams a way to narrow follow-up messages to smaller audiences. Hustle Stories and personalized video add formats beyond SMS and MMS, while automated responses and one-to-one conversations cover different kinds of engagement. These features are most relevant when an organization wants a coordinated communications workflow, not just a low-cost channel for occasional texts.

Integrations and security

Native CRM integrations include Salesforce, NGP VAN and EveryAction, Blackbaud Luminate Online, Blackbaud TeamRaiser and PDI. Salesforce imports support up to 100,000 Campaign members or 2,000 Report rows, so teams should check that their import path fits the source they plan to use. Hustle also says it is SOC 2 certified and has Cloud Security Alliance STAR Registration; it lists encryption in transit and at rest, penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.

A public API is listed, but programmatic message sending through it is described as in development. That distinction matters to builders: an API presence should not be mistaken for support for automated sending workflows.

Pricing

Pay-as-you-go

PAYGO costs 250.00 USD per month, billed as a $250 platform fee, plus per-segment charges. SMS is $0.04 per segment, and the plan has no long-term commitment. This structure suits teams that want to avoid an annual commitment, but the platform fee means it is not simply a pay-only-for-messages option; total spend rises with segment volume.

Annual commitment

Annual commitment starts at 10000.00 USD per year. Per-segment or per-message pricing is available, alongside priority support queue access, a Client Success Manager, volume-based message or segment discounts, short code messaging and Hustle Stories. It is a better fit for organizations with sustained outreach needs that can use the support and volume terms. The starting price and annual term make it a substantial commitment compared with PAYGO.

There is no free plan. Annual commitments include priority support and Client Success Manager support; PAYGO offers a shorter commitment path but does not carry those stated annual support benefits.

Platforms

Hustle supports Android, iOS and web. Mobile and web apps let teams send messages from a desk or while away from it. An API is also listed, but its programmatic sending limitation makes it a less certain fit for teams choosing software primarily for integration-driven message delivery.

Who it's for

Hustle presents itself to nonprofits, education, commercial organizations, political groups, government, and labor and unions. Its combination of audience targeting, CRM integrations, opt-in tools and video is most compelling for organizations that coordinate ongoing outreach across teams. Teams needing a simple, inexpensive texting channel or mature API-based sending should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Audience tagging and retargeting support more focused follow-up than undifferentiated broadcasts.
Pros: Native integrations cover Salesforce and several nonprofit, political and fundraising systems, with defined Salesforce import ceilings.
Pros: Text, calls, live conversations and multiple video formats give teams several ways to communicate within one platform.
Cons: Public API message sending is still in development, limiting its appeal for programmatic outreach.
Cons: PAYGO includes a $250 monthly platform fee before segment charges, so low message volume does not eliminate the fixed cost.
Cons: Annual commitment starts at 10000.00 USD per year, a material barrier for smaller teams or uncertain usage.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of tools in this category, see Peer-to-Peer Texting Software and Nonprofit Text Messaging Software.

CallHub is worth considering if a free plan or free trial matters; it supports a wider range of desktop and mobile platforms.
Political Comms is an alternative for teams focused on email, with per-email pricing and a one-time setup charge.
Reach may suit smaller organizations seeking a stated $115.00 USD per month Basics plan for under 150K records.
RumbleUp is another texting option, with a free trial and per-segment SMS pricing.
Solidarity Tech is an alternative for teams prioritizing team-member capacity, custom properties and automations.
ThruText offers higher education pay-as-you-go pricing per unique messaged contact per month, with no minimum.
Txtra is another option, with a free trial and plans that include credits, users and contacts.
Peerly offers a pay-as-you-go option billed per successfully delivered message, as well as a free trial.

Verdict

Hustle is a strong fit for organizations that want segmented, multi-format outreach, CRM connections and team-based texting in mobile and web apps. Its combination of SMS, MMS, video and audience targeting is the main reason to choose it. Look elsewhere if programmatic message sending is central to your stack, or if the fixed PAYGO fee or annual starting price is hard to justify.
