Overview

WHIZCargo is freight-management software for air, sea, road and multimodal operations, spanning the journey from inquiry and quotation to billing. It best fits freight businesses with varied operating workflows that want to choose modules and expand over time. Its breadth is the main draw; buyers should be prepared for a custom-priced deployment and an implementation that may take weeks.

Key features

WHIZCargo covers booking, documentation, EDI, customs clearance, operations and billing across 25 modules grouped around air and aviation cargo, sea and liner operations, multimodal and land, and operations and finance. Customers can select modules and activate more as they grow, while configuration-driven workflows can be created without custom code. That modularity can accommodate changing operations, but makes it important to agree on module scope before implementation.

Specialist capabilities address distinct freight roles. Ground handling agents get cargo acceptance with live weight and balance validation, ULD allocation and tracking, dangerous-goods workflows, VCHS and billing tied to airline contracts. NVOCC teams get container consolidation and deconsolidation, HBL-to-MBL reconciliation with variance flags, carrier API booking, EDI manifesting and revenue accounting. These are meaningful strengths for operators with those needs, rather than a reason for a simpler forwarder to take on a broader platform.

WHIZAI integration supports customs pre-filing, bill-of-lading exception prediction, trade-lane demand forecasting, rate intelligence and document AI. Invoice capture is AI-assisted. These functions extend the product beyond transaction handling, though their presence alone does not establish how well they perform for a particular operation.

Integration options include SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics, as well as SAP IDoc, OAGIS BOD, REST APIs, webhooks, UN/EDIFACT, ANSI X12, customs and port messages, CSV/XLSX and FTP/SFTP. E-commerce workflows import orders from Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and Amazon Seller Central. Purpose-built iOS and Android apps for customers and operational staff support scanning, photo and signature capture, GPS and offline mode. The combination suits teams connecting freight operations to existing systems and working beyond a desktop.

Pricing

WHIZCargo is paid software with custom pricing. WHIZTEC offers a 30-minute walkthrough with a Solutions Architect and invites prospective customers to contact sales. A custom quote means the purchase should be assessed against the selected modules and deployment needs, rather than a published per-user or per-shipment rate.

Platforms

WHIZCargo supports Android, iOS and API access, with hosted and self-hosted deployment options. WHIZTEC offers single-tenant cloud hosting or self-hosting for enterprises, giving organizations a choice between vendor-hosted infrastructure and running the product themselves. Typical mid-market deployments go live within 8–16 weeks; larger enterprise rollouts can take longer and proceed in phases. WHIZTEC says the product has been in production since 2002 and is deployed in 23 countries.

Who it's for

The product is aimed at freight forwarders, NVOCCs and LCL consolidators, liner agencies, ground handling agents, ship and feeder agencies, and project and courier operators. Its booking, tracking, document management, customs, carrier-rate and approval workflows, alongside receiving, three-way matching, supplier portal and multi-entity support, also make it relevant to teams coordinating freight with finance and procurement processes. Businesses needing a narrower tool for basic shipment tracking may find its breadth unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad lifecycle coverage across transport modes can bring multiple freight workflows into one platform.
Pro: Selectable modules and configurable workflows give growing operators room to adapt without custom code for new workflows.
Pro: Specialized air cargo and NVOCC functions address operational requirements that a general shipment tool may not cover.
Pro: ERP, EDI, API, commerce and mobile options support integration across established business systems and field operations.
Con: Custom pricing makes direct budget comparisons difficult before a sales discussion.
Con: Mid-market go-live timing of 8–16 weeks, with longer phased enterprise rollouts, is a significant commitment for teams seeking a rapid setup.
Con: The wide module range means buyers need to define scope carefully to avoid taking on capabilities they do not need.

Alternatives

Consider CargoWise if its listed per-package and per-once value-pack pricing for specific services better matches the buying decision; it also supports Android, iOS, API and self-hosted environments. Choose CocoonFMS if shipment-based pricing and a free trial suit your evaluation, bearing in mind its CocoonTMP tier has a 1,001–10,000 monthly shipment range and a £300 monthly minimum spend.

Intellect eFreight is another paid, demo-led option with a free trial and API and web platforms. GoFreight is worth considering for a custom quote process that asks about country, employee count and office count. Logipulse Freight Forwarding Software offers a free trial and a modular monthly plan with a Micro tier capped at three users. Logistaas may suit teams comparing per-user options, with paid CRM Only and Professional plans and a free trial. Nautlas has a Starter plan at 99.00 USD per month for up to 50 shipments and three team members, plus a free trial. Shipthis is another option for teams seeking an 89.00 USD per user/per month plan with all modules included and a free trial.

Verdict

WHIZCargo is a strong candidate for freight operators that need broad multimodal coverage, specialist air or NVOCC workflows, and the flexibility to select modules or self-host. Its main reason to choose it is the combination of operational depth and configurable scope; its main reason to look elsewhere is the custom-priced, implementation-heavy commitment, especially for teams with simpler needs or a short deployment window.
