Overview

GymKonex is gym-management software for operators who want member administration, payments, facility entry, class booking and sales in one system. It is best suited to gyms and studios that need a joined-up operational platform, including those with multiple branches or a branded member app. Its breadth is compelling, but plan capacity and pricing deserve close scrutiny before committing.

Its audience spans gyms, CrossFit boxes, martial arts academies, yoga and Pilates studios, HIIT studios and personal trainers. Unlike a booking-only tool, GymKonex also connects membership status to compatible entry hardware and includes billing and point-of-sale tools.

Key features

Membership, classes and access

Member profiles and class schedules share a system, with capacity limits and automated waitlists to help manage oversubscribed sessions. Integration with ZKTeco standalone and web-based controllers can grant or suspend entry based on membership status. That is useful for facilities with compatible hardware, but operators using other access systems should not assume the same integration.

Billing and sales

Recurring credit-card and SEPA direct-debit billing comes with payment retries and customizable dunning notifications, giving operators tools to follow up on failed payments. The eCommerce shop and POS cover merchandise, supplements, digital plans, product variants, stock alerts and PDF invoices. This breadth can reduce the need to coordinate separate membership and retail workflows.

Multiple locations and member apps

Multi-location management combines centralized reports with a shared member database and synchronized pricing across branches. Those functions suit operators seeking consistent administration across locations; smaller single-site businesses may not need them. White-label iOS and Android member apps include QR entry, booking calendars and push notifications, making the branded member experience a notable part of the offer.

Security and support

GymKonex states that data in transit uses TLS 1.2 or newer and stored customer data uses AES-256 encryption. It says backups run daily across multiple geographic locations, and breach notices are sent without undue delay, where feasible within 72 hours. Paid tiers include 24/7 support; responses typically arrive within a few hours on business days and within 24 hours on weekends.

Pricing

GymKonex has a free plan and a 14-day free trial without a credit card. The published plans use XAF pricing, but the tiers differ substantially in capacity. Match the location, staff and member caps to your operation rather than choosing on price alone.

Starter: 149.99 XAF per year, billed FCFA149.99 /year, for 1 location, 5 staff accounts and 50 members. This is the smallest stated capacity and may fit a very small operation, but its unusually low annual price makes it important to verify precisely what is included before relying on it.
Starter plan: 15000.00 XAF per month, billed FCFA15,000.00 /month, for 5 staff members, 150 members and one gym room. It suits a single-site business that needs more headroom than the annual Starter tier.
Business plan: 25000.00 XAF per month, billed FCFA25,000.00 /month, for 15 staff members, 300 members and one gym room. It raises staff and member capacity while retaining a single-room limit.
Premium plan: 50000.00 XAF per month, billed FCFA50,000.00 /month, for 30 staff members, 500 members and three gym rooms. This is the more suitable step for a larger operation needing several rooms.
Enterprise plan: 150000.00 XAF per month, billed FCFA150,000.00 /month, for 150 staff members, 2,000 members and 10 gym rooms. It is aimed at substantially larger operations; its higher caps are the clearest reason to pay more.

The lower paid tiers trade capacity for a lower monthly bill: the Starter plan caps members at 150 and one room, while Business raises the member ceiling to 300 but keeps the same room count. The listed free-plan terms do not state a capacity, so confirm that cap before treating it as a durable operating option. A separate member-limit figure is 150 members, which aligns with the Starter plan rather than the higher tiers; confirm applicable limits when choosing a plan.

Platforms

GymKonex supports web, Android and iOS. White-label member apps are native to iOS and Android, with QR entry, booking calendars and push notifications.

Who it's for

GymKonex is a strong fit for gyms and studios that want membership, recurring billing, class scheduling and sales together, especially if they use ZKTeco access controllers or operate multiple branches. Its branded apps also suit businesses that want a member-facing mobile experience under their own identity. A small studio with modest needs should weigh whether its required room, staff and member limits fit a lower tier; operators using incompatible access hardware should not choose it for access integration alone.

Pros and cons

Pro: Membership, class scheduling, billing, access and POS sit in one system, reducing the need to stitch together separate operating tools.
Pro: Shared member records, centralized reporting and synchronized pricing address practical multi-branch administration.
Pro: White-label native apps combine QR entry and booking with push notifications, extending the platform to the member experience.
Con: Plan caps change markedly by tier, and the lower paid plans limit rooms as well as staff and members; growth may require a more expensive tier.
Con: Entry control integration is specifically tied to ZKTeco standalone and web-based controllers, so it is not a universal hardware fit.
Con: The annual Starter price is far below the monthly tiers, while its scope is limited to 50 members and one location; confirm the offer's fit before basing a larger operation on it.

Alternatives

Choose PushPress if you want a free gym-management tier with unlimited leads, admins, members and staff, and are comfortable with its stated credit-card and ACH transaction fees. Choose ABC Trainerize if your priority is coaching clients through iOS or Android apps; its free Basic plan is limited to one client seat. My PT Hub is another option for personal-training workflows, with a free trial and paid Starter capacity of three clients, 50 workouts and 50 nutrition plans.

SharkFit is an alternative for individual workout and meal logging or a quoted business/gym plan with branded apps. Gymkee is a paid, trial-offering alternative with web, iOS and Android support. GymViz may suit a single-branch operator seeking a stated 500-member cap and ZKTeco access on its Starter plan. NOWFit is a paid alternative with a $149.00 USD per month DIY plan for up to 25 active clients. yMove offers a paid Starter plan with up to 20 paying users, app-store submission, subscription payments, push notifications and email support. Browse Gym App Builder Software for a broader category comparison.

Verdict

GymKonex is the stronger fit for gym and studio operators who want membership, billing, compatible access control, classes and sales under one roof, with branded apps and multi-location tools available as the operation grows. Its central trade-off is capacity-led pricing: check the member, staff, location and room limits carefully, and look elsewhere if your access hardware is not ZKTeco or your needs are narrower than this all-in-one approach.
