Overview

Legito combines legal document automation, lifecycle management, approvals, renewal tracking, and electronic signing. It is strongest for teams that want to build repeatable legal documents without coding and route them through controlled workflows. A free workspace lowers the barrier to entry, but direct signing is limited to PDFs.

Interactive templates use inserted data to generate advanced documents, while audit trails and document timelines show who did what and when. Signatories can use a browser on any device without installing an app; BioSign adds biometric signing for PDFs on phones and tablets. Legito spans Legal Document Automation Software, Document Template Management Software, and Contract Management Software.

Key features

Document automation: Interactive templates and inserted data automate advanced documents without coding, making Legito a fit for teams standardizing recurring legal work rather than only collecting signatures.
Workflows and lifecycle management: Customizable approvals, renewal tracking, and document revision history help keep documents moving and provide oversight beyond drafting.
Electronic signatures: The free workspace includes electronic signatures, and signed PDFs are encrypted using a verified third-party certificate. The constraint is meaningful: only PDFs can be signed directly; other file types are converted to PDF.
Audit and integration: Document timelines record who did what and when. No-code connections, APIs, webhooks, and DocuSign integrations provide options for fitting Legito into existing processes.
Support: Knowledge resources, professional services, courses, webinars, and implementation partners give teams several routes to assistance as their setup grows.

Pricing

Legito uses a freemium model, with a free workspace and a 30-day trial for paid Workspace plans. Paid memberships renew automatically, but users can cancel at any time without extra cost.

Plan	Price	What it means
Free Plan	0.00 USD per free	Document lifecycle management, customizable workflows and approvals, and electronic signatures make it a practical starting point for teams that can work within a free workspace.
Starter	6.90 EUR per month, billed monthly	Includes 5 documents per month, so it suits light usage but is restrictive for teams with regular document volume.
Business	13.90 EUR per month, billed monthly	Includes 20 documents per month, offering more headroom than Starter while still imposing a firm monthly ceiling.
Workspace	Custom pricing	Offers as many documents as needed, a 30-day free trial, customizable templates, revision history, external document recordkeeping, analytics and managerial reporting, API integration, and permission settings. It is the option for organizations that need scale and broader administration, but requires a pricing conversation.
Free Workspace	Free of charge forever	A no-cost workspace for teams that want to start without a paid commitment.

The free tier is the clearest low-risk entry, while the monthly document caps on Starter and Business make volume planning important. The Workspace trial is limited to 30 days; paid memberships renew automatically unless canceled.

Platforms

Legito is available on web and through an API, with deployment options listed as both. Browser-based signing avoids an app installation for signatories, and BioSign supports biometric PDF signing on mobile devices. Its API, webhooks, no-code options, and DocuSign integration suit teams connecting document operations to a wider stack.

Who it's for

Legito is a strong fit for legal and operational teams that produce recurring documents, need approvals and renewal oversight, and want signing in the same workflow. It is less suitable when teams must sign original non-PDF formats directly, or when document volumes make Starter or Business caps impractical.

Pros and cons

Pro: No-code interactive templates can automate advanced documents, reducing reliance on custom development for repeatable drafting.
Pro: Approvals, renewal tracking, audit timelines, and signatures cover more of the document lifecycle than signing alone.
Pro: Free workspace and free electronic signature let teams begin without a subscription.
Con: Only PDFs can be signed directly; other document formats require conversion.
Con: Starter and Business are capped at 5 and 20 documents per month respectively, limiting their fit for heavier usage.
Con: Workspace pricing is custom, so teams seeking an uncapped plan cannot assess its cost from a published price.

Alternatives

Gavel is worth considering for teams that prefer a paid product with a free trial; its Exec trial includes 25 free queries per user and shared Workspace collaboration during the trial.
XpressDox may suit smaller firms looking for fast setup and immediate productivity gains; its Essential plan is 59.00 USD per month per user.
ClauseBase is an alternative for teams considering advanced drafting and questionnaires, with pricing by contacting ClauseBase.
Clio Draft is another option for AI-powered Word templates, court forms, questionnaires, and document sets.
Docassemble is a free, self-hosted alternative; hosting typically costs $10–$40 per month or more depending on performance, availability, and support needs.
Mitratech CaseCloud is another paid option, with pricing available by requesting a personalized demo.
Thomson Reuters Case Tracking is a paid alternative with pricing available by demo request or by contacting a representative.
WealthCounsel is another paid platform to consider.

Verdict

Choose Legito if your team needs configurable legal document automation, approvals, lifecycle oversight, and signatures in one platform, with a free workspace for getting started. Look elsewhere if direct signing of non-PDF files is essential or if your team needs predictable published pricing for high-volume use.
