Overview

Huntr gives each job a record for notes, dates, tasks, descriptions, salary, location, and company data. That depth helps applicants keep deadlines and follow-ups alongside the role rather than in separate notes. Contact Tracker adds recruiter and hiring-manager details, including email, phone, and social handles, making it useful when relationship tracking is part of the search.

For placement-focused organizations, Huntr Advisor serves technical academies, colleges, career coaches, outplacement providers, and workforce-development organizations. Its organization API provides access to member, job, employer, and event information for organizational accounts.

Key features

Applications and job tracking

Application autofill through Huntr’s Chrome extension is designed to work across thousands of websites, reducing repeated form entry for applicants using a desktop browser. It is not a mobile-app feature: the native iOS and Android apps are for browsing jobs and organizing a search on the go. The tracker can aggregate job sources, but applicants who mainly apply from a phone will get less from the extension-led autofill workflow.

Resume tailoring

The resume builder combines professional templates, AI suggestions, proofreading, and one-click PDF export. Resume tailoring extracts keywords, responsibilities, and qualifications from a job description and scores how well a resume matches them. That makes Huntr relevant to applicants who want to align application materials to individual roles, not just store a general resume. AI cover letters and application packets extend that workflow, though the free plan’s small number of complimentary AI credits and two application packets constrain experimentation.

Pricing

Huntr is freemium, with no Pro free trial. The free plan is genuinely usable for a small search: it is always free and includes two job-tailored resumes, two application packets, tracking for up to 100 jobs, and up to 100 document uploads. The cap is a clear ceiling for prolonged or high-volume searches; Pro lists unlimited job tracking and document uploads.

Free: 0.00 USD per free, billed always free. Best for a limited search or for trying the workflow, but the two tailored resumes and packets and 100-job cap can run out quickly.
Pro: 40.00 USD per month, billed $40 per month. It includes unlimited job-tailored resumes, application packets, and AI cover letters.
Pro Monthly: 40.00 USD per month, billed $40 per month. It includes unlimited AI credits, tailored resumes, application packets, job tracking, and document uploads.
Pro Quarterly: 90.00 USD per month, billed $90 every 3 months. It has the same features as other Pro billing options, including unlimited AI credits and job tracking.
Pro Biannual: 160.00 USD per month, billed $160 every 6 months. It has the same features as other Pro billing options, including unlimited AI credits and job tracking.

The quarterly and biannual options reduce the stated amount per month compared with paying $40 monthly, but require paying $90 or $160 at a time. The pricing note says paid plans start at $26.66/mo, while the stated Pro billing options put monthly billing at $40; readers should compare the payment interval and amount they expect to pay, rather than treating the starting figure as the monthly charge. No seat-based pricing is stated for individual plans.

Platforms

Huntr supports web, Android, iOS, a browser extension, and an API. The extension is the specific route for application autofill; the mobile apps focus on browsing jobs and organizing the search. The organization API is for organizational accounts, not a general-purpose API claim.

Who it's for

Huntr is a strong fit for job seekers handling enough applications to benefit from detailed records, resume matching, contacts, and repeated form filling. The free plan is appropriate for a bounded search; applicants tracking more than 100 jobs or needing unlimited AI credits and documents should weigh Pro’s higher monthly charge against its expanded quotas. Placement organizations may find Huntr Advisor and the organization API more relevant than the individual plans. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a resume builder or applies primarily on mobile.

Pros and cons

Pro: Job records hold tasks, dates, compensation, location, and company context, so follow-up information stays with each application.
Pro: Resume matching, AI cover letters, and Chrome-extension autofill bring several repetitive application tasks into one workflow.
Pro: Native iOS and Android apps support job browsing and search organization away from a desktop.
Con: Free users are limited to 100 tracked jobs, two tailored resumes, two application packets, and 100 document uploads.
Con: Pro has no free trial, and the $40 monthly billing option is a meaningful step up for applicants who only need occasional tailoring.
Con: Autofill depends on the Chrome extension, so it does not cover a mobile-first application routine.

Alternatives

Choose Jobscan if resume scans are the priority: its free plan includes an ATS-friendly resume builder, downloads, and limited scans, and it offers a free trial. Choose Rezi for a resume-focused option with a free plan covering one resume, one AI interview, three PDF downloads, and standard-format templates; its Pro plan is 29.00 USD per month.

Kickresume is another freemium resume and cover-letter option, with Android, iOS, and web apps. Resume.io may suit readers looking for a web-based resume tool with a 7-day trial. MyPerfectResume offers a 14-day Premium Access option and mobile apps. Resume Genius includes a free access plan with TXT resume downloads and a US-only job board. Teal is a freemium web and extension option. Zety offers a resume and cover-letter builder with a Basic Package.

Verdict

Huntr is best for active applicants who want one place to coordinate job details, tailored resumes, contacts, and application entry. The free plan offers enough capacity for a smaller search, while Pro’s unlimited tracking and AI quotas fit sustained use. Look elsewhere if your need is only resume creation, or if $40 monthly and extension-based autofill do not fit your budget or workflow.
