Overview

Hagif is a browser-first toolkit for making and converting GIFs and other media. It is best suited to people who want account-free, watermark-free single-file tools, with a paid option for batch GIF work. The trade-off is reliance on browser memory and codec support, alongside an AI workflow that sends prompts to Cloudflare Workers AI.

Key features

Hagif handles GIF, video, image, audio, PDF, SVG and utility workflows. Its featured tasks include video-to-GIF, GIF compression, image-to-GIF and GIF-to-MP4; it also offers prompt-to-GIF, templates and specialist formats such as HEIC, JXL, MNG, FLI/FLC, ANI, Aseprite, BPG and FLIF, depending on the tool. That range makes it useful as a general media workbench, though the breadth does not guarantee that every format will work on every device.

Core conversion and editing run in the browser: choose a file, process it locally and download the result. Those tools do not upload source files to Hagif, and standard exports have no watermark. Basic single-file tools require no account, which keeps quick conversions lightweight. The limitation is that browser tools decode media into memory, so large files can exceed device capacity. Chrome and Edge have the broadest codec coverage; Safari and Firefox support depends on the source format and device.

AI GIF works differently: the prompt goes to Cloudflare Workers AI, while the animation is created in the browser. Users who want a prompt-driven workflow should account for that distinction from the local-file tools. The experimental API preview lists GIF inspection, compression, resizing and transparent-background operations for SaaS, CMS, ecommerce and community products, but public signup is not open, so it is not a ready route for most teams to integrate today.

Pricing

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free	Local single-file tools, manual controls, clean downloads without a watermark, and no required account.
24-hour Hagif Power Pass	4.99 USD per once	Batch GIF processing and ZIP downloads for up to 10 files, exact-target search and additional quality candidates, with 24-hour access and no auto-renewal.

The free plan covers standard single-file local processing, but batch GIF work is limited to one file at a time. The Power Pass is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription despite the separate “4.99 USD per month” label: it provides 24 hours of access and does not renew automatically. It makes sense for a short batch task; occasional users who only convert one file at a time can stay on Free.

Platforms

Hagif is available on the web and lists an API preview. Browser processing means device memory and browser codec support are practical platform considerations, especially for large files or specialist formats.

Who it's for

Hagif suits individuals and teams that need occasional media conversions without an account, server upload of source files, or a watermark on standard local exports. It is less suitable for workflows that depend on handling large files reliably across browsers, or for teams that need an immediately accessible production API. Optional Pro cloud jobs temporarily store source and result files in Cloudflare R2 for up to 24 hours, so that workflow differs from Hagif’s local-processing default.

Pros and cons

Pros: Free local single-file tools need no account and produce watermark-free downloads, making simple conversions low-friction.
Pros: The one-time Power Pass adds batch processing for up to 10 GIFs, ZIP downloads and comparison-oriented quality features without auto-renewal.
Cons: Browser decoding can exhaust memory on large files, and format support varies across browsers and devices.
Cons: Batch processing is not included in the free single-file workflow, while the API remains an experimental preview without public signup.

Alternatives

For a broader selection of prompt-driven products, browse AI GIF Makers. Choose Pollo AI instead if an API-oriented option with limited free credits and watermarked output, or a paid 400-credit plan with two parallel tasks, better fits the workflow. Magic Hour is the alternative to consider when its Creator plan’s annual credit allocation, 1024px exports and full API access suit the need.

GifRun offers a web-based GIF option with stated duration and resolution limits across its anonymous and free-account tiers. Moxion is worth considering for teams seeking GIF tools across mobile, desktop and web platforms, with a shared daily free AI generation and a watermarked preview. Imgflip GIF Maker is another free-plan alternative with specific video-frame, dimension and segment caps.

Photo2GIF may fit users looking for vintage-style effects and AI GIF creation, with a free first AI GIF and paid packs. Rewind.ai AI GIF Generator is an alternative for users who prefer a token-based free daily allowance and monthly token plans. Ezgif is a free web choice when stated upload-size and image-count limits are suitable and no signup or conversion limits are stated.

Verdict

Choose Hagif for straightforward, private-by-default single-file media work and occasional GIF batches, especially when account-free, watermark-free downloads matter. Look elsewhere if large files, dependable cross-browser codec coverage or a production-ready API are essential; the browser’s memory and format limits and the API’s closed preview are material constraints.
