Overview

GradeBoard analyzes learner work against rubric outcomes and generates feedback, including inline comments and summative notes. Educators can edit annotations before export, keeping a review step between AI feedback and delivery. That makes it a better fit for structured feedback workflows than a simple scoring tool.

It accepts PDF, DOCX, TXT and image uploads, with OCR text extraction. Batch processing can handle 50 or more submissions simultaneously, while analytics cover performance trends, time savings and student progress distribution. These features are most useful for recurring assessment; educators handling only occasional assignments may not need the broader workflow.

Key features

Rubric-based semantic analysis ties generated feedback to stated outcomes rather than offering feedback without that structure. The Free tier has limited rubric uploads, so educators using many rubrics across courses may need a paid plan. Pro adds a priority AI model, batch grading, advanced developmental feedback and OCR.

Paid plans include annotated DOCX downloads and batch feedback ZIP downloads. For teams, Enterprise adds SSO, team management and custom API/LMS integration. GradeBoard also supports LMS integration, and its registration page says it complies with GDPR and other data protection regulations.

Pricing

Free — 0.00 GBP per month. Includes 10 learner submissions per month, a standard AI model, limited rubric uploads, DOCX annotated download, basic analytics, 30-day data retention and email support. It is a sensible starting point for an individual educator with modest monthly volume, but the submission cap and rubric limit make it restrictive for broader use.

Pro — 24.99 GBP per month. Includes 200 submissions per month, a priority AI model, batch grading, advanced developmental feedback, OCR and six-month data retention. It suits educators with regular assessment workloads who need batch processing and more capacity. The 200-submission cap still matters for large or institution-wide workflows.

Enterprise — 250.00 GBP per month, billed From. Includes unlimited submissions, SSO, team management, custom API/LMS integration, 12-month data retention and a dedicated success manager. It is aimed at institutions that need centralized access, integrations and high-volume processing; the starting price is substantially above Pro.

The retention period rises with each tier: 30 days on Free, six months on Pro and 12 months on Enterprise. Choose based on both submission volume and how long assessment data needs to remain retained.

Platforms

GradeBoard runs on the web and supports LMS integration. Enterprise adds custom API/LMS integration and SSO, making that tier the clearest fit for institutions connecting assessment workflows to existing systems.

Who it's for

GradeBoard is best suited to educators who assess against rubrics and want feedback that can be reviewed and edited before export. Pro is the more practical fit for regular batch grading, while Enterprise targets institutions needing unlimited submissions, team management or custom integrations. It is less compelling for occasional low-volume use that does not require AI feedback or analytics.

Pros and cons

Pros: Rubric-aligned analysis combines inline and summative feedback, with editable annotations before export, so educators retain control over the final comments.
Pros: Batch processing of 50 or more submissions and progress analytics support repeat assessment workflows beyond individual grading.
Pros: Enterprise offers SSO and custom API/LMS integration for institutional workflows.
Cons: Free allows only 10 submissions per month and limited rubric uploads, which can quickly constrain multi-course use.
Cons: Pro is capped at 200 submissions monthly, so institutions with heavier volume may need Enterprise.
Cons: Retention varies by tier, from 30 days on Free to 12 months on Enterprise; users needing longer retention must choose a higher plan.
