Overview

Founded in 2018, GryphonHR brings I-9 completion and E-Verify compliance into one platform, with employee self-service and electronic signatures. Remote and onsite verification use the same workflow without added modules or fees, which is useful for employers with mixed workforces. The service is positioned to reduce compliance risk and improve onboarding efficiency; it is less compelling for organizations that only need occasional form completion.

Key features

Verification and audit readiness

E-Verify workflows can automate I-9 submissions, case management, photo matching, and reporting. I-9 audit trails and reports help teams prepare for official Form I-9 audits. Together, these functions make GryphonHR a fit for employers seeking a repeatable compliance process, rather than just a place to complete forms.

Reporting and integrations

Custom reports can be exported with data and documents without an extra export charge, useful when records need review or sharing. A REST API supports HR and payroll integrations, while SAML 2.0 and OpenID support SSO. These options matter to teams fitting verification into an existing HR or payroll stack; the value depends on whether those connections are part of the employer's workflow.

Security and availability

GryphonHR cites ISO 27002, PCI DSS, and SSAE16 SOC 1 Type II among its security and compliance standards. It says customer data has a separate encryption key and uses 2048-bit SSL encryption for data at rest or in transit. Its Form I-9 services carry a 99.5% uptime guarantee. These commitments may help organizations assessing operational and compliance requirements, though they do not replace checking fit with internal controls.

Pricing

Plans are priced by annual new-hire volume, not user count: each priced tier includes unlimited users and is billed monthly under a one-year term. The entry plan is Basic at $50 per month, billed monthly, for 1 to 100 annual new hires. Although the pricing note says from $60/mo, the listed Basic plan price is $50 per month.

Plan	Price and term	Annual new hires	Support
Basic	$50 per month, billed monthly; one-year term	1–100	Knowledgebase and training guides
Plus	$242 per month, billed monthly; one-year term	101–500	Knowledgebase, training guides, and live training
Premier	$450 per month, billed monthly; one-year term	500–1,000	Knowledgebase, training guides, live training, and phone support
Enterprise	Custom pricing	1,000+	Knowledgebase, training guides, and phone support

Basic suits lower-volume employers that can work with self-guided support. Plus adds live training for teams above 100 hires; Premier adds phone support for higher-volume operations. Enterprise moves to custom pricing beyond 1,000 hires. The tier boundaries make annual hiring forecasts important, and the one-year commitment is a poor fit for teams wanting a short-term or seasonal service. There is no free plan.

Platforms

GryphonHR is offered on the web and through an API. The API supports HR or payroll integration, while SSO standards include SAML 2.0 and OpenID.

Who it's for

GryphonHR suits employers that need I-9 and E-Verify workflows for both remote and onsite hires, particularly those that value audit trails, report exports, and integration with HR or payroll systems. Employers should weigh annual hire volume against the tiers and consider whether the included support level meets their needs. Teams with few hires and only occasional verification may find the annual term and compliance-oriented feature set more than they need.

Pros and cons

Pro: Remote and onsite I-9 workflows share one platform without additional module fees, avoiding a split process for mixed workforces.
Pro: E-Verify automation, audit trails, and reports support a broader compliance workflow than form completion alone.
Pro: Custom report exports have no extra charge, and the REST API plus SSO standards support integration into established systems.
Con: The one-year term reduces flexibility for seasonal or uncertain hiring needs.
Con: Pricing rises sharply across annual-hire bands, so employers near a tier boundary should forecast volume carefully.
Con: Live training begins at Plus and phone support at Premier, leaving Basic with self-guided resources.

Verdict

Choose GryphonHR if your organization needs a connected I-9 and E-Verify process for remote and onsite hires, with audit trails, reporting, and HR or payroll integration support. The unified workflow and no-extra-charge exports are its clearest advantages. Look elsewhere if hiring volume is too low or unpredictable to justify the annual term, or if the plan's hire bands and support levels do not fit your operation.
