Overview

Hi Auto is an AI order taker built for drive-thru operations at high-volume quick-service restaurants. It best suits corporate QSRs and franchisees whose POS, audio and internet setup meets its deployment requirements. Its focused feature set and human fallback are compelling; the consultation-based buying process and 90–120 day rollout call for a planned, operationally involved purchase.

The company says it serves more than 200 franchisees across about 1,000 stores on three continents. It reports 93% order completion and 96% accuracy across about 1,000 stores. Those figures frame the case for evaluating it, but they do not remove the need to weigh integration fit and the human support model against a chain’s own operating needs.

Key features

Order taking and fallback

Hi Auto handles substitutions and add-ons, and the company says it continually tunes the system to improve performance. It supports English and Spanish orders, giving restaurants serving both language groups a specific capability to consider. When the AI is unsure or cannot understand an order fully, trained human agents provide input. That fallback may be useful where incomplete orders are costly, though it means the service is not an AI-only handoff.

Brand controls and restaurant systems

Brands can configure the voice persona, scripts, upsells and regional settings. That makes the system more adaptable to chain-specific ordering practices than a fixed voice experience, while leaving setup and tuning as part of a serious rollout. Hi Auto says it integrates with HME, PAR and Xenial for audio and POS, as well as digital confirmation boards and kitchen display systems. Buyers should assess those connections against the systems already operating at their stores.

Operations, security and support

The service includes voice ordering, kitchen coordination and throughput analytics. Hi Auto says sensitive data is stored and processed primarily on Microsoft Azure and encrypted in storage and transmission; its FAQ says it does not retain customer personally identifiable information. It also provides 24/7/365 support for onboarding, real-time monitoring, performance optimization and technical assistance. Systems self-monitor and alert the company to potential issues, and certified installers work across multiple regions. These operational provisions matter for restaurants that need ongoing coverage, but buyers should still establish how the service fits their own support and security requirements.

Pricing

Hi Auto is paid software with custom pricing. The company invites prospective customers to book a free consultation to discuss their stores, operations and objectives. There are no published plan tiers to compare, so chains should use the consultation to understand the commercial terms for their scale and configuration before committing.

The purchase also has meaningful deployment considerations: Hi Auto gives a 90–120 day estimate from pilot to scale, depending on chain size and complexity. A POS system, drive-thru audio system and reliable internet connectivity are required. The FAQ says installation uses an audio box connected to existing headsets and POS, takes about three hours and is remotely supported. That installation estimate is distinct from the broader rollout timeline; buyers should plan for both the initial store work and the path from pilot to scale.

Platforms

Hi Auto is designed for drive-thru operations and connects to restaurant audio and POS systems, digital confirmation boards and kitchen display systems. Its requirements are a POS, drive-thru audio and reliable internet. The company describes remote installation support and certified installers in multiple regions, making infrastructure readiness a practical part of platform fit rather than a minor technical detail.

Who it's for

Hi Auto is most relevant to corporate QSRs and franchisees with high-volume drive-thru operations, particularly those using HME, PAR or Xenial and needing English and Spanish ordering. Its configurable scripts, upsells and regional settings suit brands that want voice ordering adapted to their own service patterns. The human fallback, continuous monitoring and round-the-clock support may also matter to operators prioritizing operational coverage.

It is a weaker fit for businesses without the required audio, POS and internet infrastructure, or for buyers seeking a quick, self-service deployment. A 90–120 day path from pilot to scale and custom pricing suit planned chain-level decisions better than a small operation looking for an immediately priced, standard package.

Pros and cons

Pro: Human agents can step in when the AI lacks confidence or cannot understand an order, addressing a consequential failure point in automated ordering.
Pro: English and Spanish support, plus configurable voice, scripts, upsells and regional settings, give chains meaningful control over the customer-facing experience.
Pro: Integration with named audio and POS systems, confirmation boards and kitchen display systems connects ordering to restaurant operations.
Pro: 24/7/365 support, self-monitoring and remote installation support offer operational coverage beyond the ordering interaction itself.
Con: Custom pricing requires a consultation, so buyers cannot compare published tiers or costs before engaging.
Con: The rollout estimate is 90–120 days, and deployment depends on existing POS, drive-thru audio and reliable internet; this is not a plug-in choice for an unprepared site.
Con: The product focuses entirely on drive-thru use cases, limiting its fit for teams seeking a broader ordering platform.

Verdict

Hi Auto is a strong candidate for multi-store QSR operators that want configurable drive-thru voice ordering, English and Spanish support, restaurant-system connections and human fallback. Its clearest reason to choose it is the combination of ordering automation with operational support; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the commitment involved in custom pricing, infrastructure requirements and a 90–120 day rollout. For a chain prepared to plan and consult before deployment, it merits consideration; for buyers seeking a broad platform or a published, quick-start plan, it does not.
