Overview

HungerRush is a cloud-based restaurant platform built around point of sale, online ordering, and delivery operations. It is best suited to independent pizza and delivery operators that want those workflows in one system; its one-location limit and long Base Package commitment make it less compelling for growing multi-site groups or buyers seeking flexibility.

It supports Android, iOS, web, and API access, and also covers guest engagement and reporting. HungerRush has operated since 2003 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Key features

The Kitchen Display System replaces paper tickets with synced station screens and Order, Item, and Production views, plus automated prep timing. That gives kitchen teams several ways to follow work through preparation, rather than relying on paper tickets alone.

OrderAI handles incoming phone orders in natural conversation and sends them to the POS, while staff can step in at any time. That combination suits operators looking to automate calls without making the process fully hands-off.

DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates orders can flow into the POS, with menu and store information syncing to those marketplaces. HungerRush also says orders through its storefront or branded app carry no per-order commission, a useful distinction for operators weighing direct ordering against marketplace sales.

The API offers secure, direct business-data access for partner integrations, custom workflows, dashboards, and reporting. Its integrations include 7shifts, HotSchedules, Restaurant365, Worldpay, Apple Pay, Braze, and INFI. The payment page describes P400 processing certified to PCI PTS 5.x, with built-in encryption and tamper protection. Scan to Pay is narrower: it requires HungerRush Online Ordering and supports dine-in and delivery checkout.

HungerRush advertises US-based support around the clock. The base package includes leased hardware with no upfront payment and a full-term hardware warranty, but the 36-month agreement is a substantial trade-off for operators who may want to change systems sooner.

Pricing

HungerRush uses a freemium model. Starter is 0.00 USD per free, billed From $0 / Month, for operators who meet qualification criteria. It is limited to 1 location and 1 POS terminal, so it is an entry point for a qualifying single-site business, not a route to multi-location deployment.

Custom has custom pricing and includes online ordering, loyalty, automated marketing, a self-serve website editor, third-party ordering and delivery integrations, and delivery management. It is suited to operators prioritizing digital sales and fulfillment tools, though the price must be assessed against their needs.

Base Package costs 149.00 USD per month, billed $149/month, all-in, with $0 down and a 36-month agreement. It bundles POS hardware, core POS software, online ordering, delivery management and dispatch, and Uber Eats and DoorDash integrations. The fixed monthly price and included hardware reduce upfront costs, but the three-year term limits flexibility.

Build Your Own has custom pricing, quoted according to selected modules and business needs. Options include Driver Track, 360 Marketing, Text Marketing, Loyalty, Feedback & Surveys, Gift Cards & Coupons, and OrderAI. This lets operators choose modules rather than take the whole set, but requires a quote to establish the cost.

Platforms

HungerRush supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. That mix covers mobile and browser use as well as integration work, though the one-location limit remains a constraint regardless of platform.

Who it's for

Independent pizza and delivery operators are the clearest fit, particularly those consolidating POS, dispatch, direct online ordering, and kitchen workflows. Other independent restaurant concepts are also served. Operators with multiple locations, or those unwilling to accept a 36-month agreement for the Base Package, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: POS, online ordering, delivery dispatch, kitchen display, and marketplace routing bring several restaurant workflows together.
Pros: Direct storefront and branded-app orders have no per-order commission, while marketplace orders can route into the POS.
Pros: OrderAI allows staff to take over a call, and the API supports custom workflows and reporting.
Cons: Starter requires qualification and is capped at one location and one POS terminal.
Cons: The $149/month Base Package requires a 36-month agreement, despite its $0-down hardware offer.
Cons: Scan to Pay depends on HungerRush Online Ordering, limiting its usefulness as a standalone payment option.

Verdict

Choose HungerRush if you run an independent, single-location restaurant—especially a pizza or delivery operation—and want POS, ordering, dispatch, and kitchen tools connected, with API access for further integration. The strongest reasons to hesitate are the one-location ceiling and the Base Package’s 36-month agreement; teams that need multi-site scale or a shorter commitment should compare other options.
