Overview

Founded in 1999, iCONECT serves corporations, law firms, public-sector organizations, and service providers. It brings evidence review, analytics, redaction, and production into one platform, with support for email, chat, text, native files, and preprocessed data. A native file viewer and message-level review suit teams working across mixed evidence; simpler matters may not need this much workflow scope.

Key features

Review, search, and analytics

Email threading, deduplication, entity identification, and visual search help teams organize and locate relevant material. Elasticsearch supports complex queries and faster retrieval. One-click automations can batch, tag, and redact documents, while automated redaction and production workflows help carry work from review to deliverables without splitting those tasks across tools.

Generative AI and production

GenAI tools include entity redaction, document summaries, document classification, and image classification. Production supports native files, images, and PDF. These capabilities address several points in the review lifecycle, though organizations should assess whether the available functions fit their particular workflows.

API and integrations

The REST API uses OpenID Connect and supports operations for clients, projects, fields, records, files, jobs, views, templates, and batches. iCONECT also describes integrations with key systems and says system integrators can build customized solutions. That breadth gives teams a basis for connecting workflows to existing systems, while custom integrations may require integrator effort.

Security, support, and training

iCONECT states that it completed a SOC 2 examination in September 2025 covering security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Its security program describes regular training and penetration testing, data protection protocols, and controlled access. Support is advertised 24/7/365 by phone and email, with after-hours emergency support. Self-paced online certification courses cover review, security and user management, project setup, and data imports.

Pricing

iCONECT is paid, with custom pricing. The law-firm offering describes flexible monthly or annual pricing and SaaS or onsite deployment, but does not publish prices. SaaS Price Protect automatically applies discounts as customer data volume grows, which may appeal to teams expecting increasing data volumes; buyers should compare the offered terms against their expected usage and deployment choice.

Platforms

iCONECT supports API, self-hosted, and web access. Deployment options include on-premises, hybrid, cloud, and SaaS. This range gives organizations latitude to align deployment with their operating requirements, but teams should establish which model and associated pricing fit before choosing it.

Who it's for

iCONECT is a strong fit for law firms, corporations, public-sector organizations, and service providers that handle complex matters across multiple evidence types and need review, analytics, redaction, and production together. Its API and deployment range also suit teams integrating review into existing systems. Organizations seeking transparent published pricing or a narrowly scoped review tool may prefer to look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad review and production workflow, including email threading, deduplication, automated redaction, and multiple production formats.
Pros: REST API with OpenID Connect and operations spanning records, files, jobs, views, templates, and batches.
Pros: On-premises, hybrid, cloud, and SaaS choices provide deployment flexibility.
Cons: Custom pricing makes cost comparison less direct, and buyers must establish terms for their own deployment and usage.
Cons: The wide feature and deployment scope may be unnecessary for teams with simpler review needs.

Alternatives

Casepoint eDiscovery is another paid, API- and web-accessible option; its tailored pricing reflects selected applications and use cases, with no charge for products a customer does not use. Onna may suit teams prioritizing unlimited user licenses and connectors, with plans starting at 1 TB and standard support included. Reveal offers flexible pay-as-you-go or subscription pricing and unlimited users on every plan, with Ask available as an add-on.

DISCO Ediscovery may appeal to buyers who prefer per-GB processed-data pricing, unlimited Cecilia AI, and no separate ingest, processing, or user fees. Everlaw is worth considering for data-managed and usage-based pricing with flexible case or annual subscriptions, unlimited users and uploads, and credits required for some batch AI actions. RelativityOne offers pay-as-you-go or one- or three-year commitments, with AI capabilities included at committed data volume.

GoldFynch provides a free case for one case per new account, capped at 512 MB stored and 1 GB processed, expiring after 90 days, which may fit a small, time-limited matter. FreeEed is a freemium, self-hosted alternative with a free Community Edition offering unlimited matters within 1 GB, full-text search, and OCR, but no PII detection, AI Advisor, or Mat.

Verdict

Choose iCONECT if your organization needs a broad eDiscovery workflow, multiple deployment paths, and an API that can connect review operations with existing systems. Its main advantage is the combination of review, analytics, redaction, and production; its main drawback is custom pricing, which makes confirming total fit and terms essential. Teams needing a simpler scope or upfront price transparency should compare alternatives first.
