Overview

IK Multimedia ReSing is a desktop tool for replacing vocal takes with modeled voices and transforming vocal or instrumental tracks. It suits producers who want voice conversion and local model creation within a DAW or standalone workflow. Its strongest case is the combination of those capabilities with local audio processing; model-generation allowances vary sharply by license.

Key features

Voice transformation and model creation

Controls for transpose, character, accent, dynamic range, and blending two models give producers several ways to shape a converted performance rather than simply swap its voice. ReSing Modeler creates voice or instrument models locally, which is useful for teams that want custom models without sending audio to an external server. An internet connection is still required for authorization.

The product supports English, Spanish, and Japanese models; Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese voice packs add models and model-creation language support for those languages. IK says its voice datasets come from original recordings made with participating singers under agreements, not copyrighted songs, samples, or third-party materials. That stated sourcing approach may matter to teams evaluating voice tools for responsible production.

Doubling and integration

The optional Doubling add-on creates vocal doubles, backing vocals, and stacks, with controls for timing, detuning, stereo width, volume, and pan. It adds a distinct arrangement workflow, but buyers who need this capability should account for it separately from the core license.

ReSing runs as a standalone application and supports Audio Units, VST 3, and AAX on macOS, plus VST 3 and AAX on Windows. ARA2 mode is listed for Cubase 12 or later, Logic Pro X 10.4 or later on Intel, Studio One 4 or later, Nuendo 11 or later, and Reaper 5.97 or later. Minimum requirements are macOS 13.7 or newer or Windows 10 64-bit or newer, 8 GB RAM, and 9 GB of disk space. Check host and OS compatibility before adopting it in an established studio.

Pricing

ReSing uses a freemium model, with one-time paid licenses rather than recurring subscriptions. The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 2 voices, 2 instruments, and 1 RVC import, but no model generation. It is a useful way to explore the included models, not a route to building custom models.

ReSing costs 129.99 USD per once as a one-time payment. It expands the allowance to 10 voices, 10 instruments, and 10 model generations, with limited imports. This is the fit for producers who need model creation but can work within those caps.

ReSing MAX costs 199.99 USD per once as a one-time perpetual license, with 25 voices, 25 instruments, 25 model generations, and unlimited imports. It is the more practical core license for heavier importing and broader model use, though generation is still capped.

The Unlimited Model Generation Add-on for ReSing costs 149.99 USD per once and requires ReSing or ReSing MAX. It removes the model-generation count limit, making it relevant to users who will create models repeatedly; the add-on is not a standalone license. A separate ReSing Session provides access to a selected Showcase model for one month as a one-time purchase, with no automatic renewal, and can be activated on one device at a time. ReSing has no free trial.

Platforms

ReSing is available for macOS and Windows. Vocal transformation is processed on the computer rather than sent to external servers, according to IK Multimedia, although authorization requires an internet connection.

Who it's for

ReSing is best suited to producers and small teams who need modeled-voice replacement, instrumental transformation, or locally created models in a desktop audio workflow. The free plan is a low-commitment way to work with a small selection of voices and instruments, while the paid tiers suit users who need model generation or more import capacity. It is less compelling for anyone who requires unlimited generation without buying an add-on, or whose DAW and system do not match its compatibility requirements.

Pros and cons

Pros

Local processing keeps vocal transformation on the computer, a useful fit for privacy-conscious sessions.
Modeler supports local creation of voice and instrument models, with the option to remove generation caps through a paid add-on.
The optional Doubling workflow covers doubles, backing vocals, and stacks with timing and stereo controls.
One-time license pricing avoids recurring payments, and the Session purchase has no automatic renewal.

Cons

The free plan has no model generation, so custom-model work requires a paid license.
The standard ReSing license limits users to 10 model generations and limited imports; MAX raises those caps but still limits generation to 25.
Unlimited generation costs an additional 149.99 USD per once and requires a paid ReSing or ReSing MAX license.
ARA2 support is tied to named host versions, and Logic Pro support is specifically for Intel, so compatibility needs checking before purchase.

Alternatives

For voice conversion specifically, compare ReSing with AI Voice Conversion Software. For broader audio-production discovery, the Virtual Instruments list may be a better starting point; the Audio Mastering Software list serves a different production need.

For guitar-amp workflows rather than modeled-voice transformation, consider Guitar Amp Software. AIDA-X is a free option available on Linux, macOS, Windows, as self-hosted software, and on the web. Amp Locker offers a free download with Prestige 1950 amp, 7 FX pedals, and 7 rack FX, with extra modules purchased individually and owned outright. Amped has a free Roots edition with one amp and a separate full license priced at 5999.00 EUR per once. Amplifikation 360 is another freemium option. GENOME has a free Intro tier and a paid tier at 89.99 USD per once. Helix Stadium Native also offers a free Intro tier. Neural Amp Modeler is a free, open-source option available on Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst is free on Windows and macOS.

Verdict

Choose ReSing if your production workflow needs modeled-voice replacement or local custom model creation, especially when keeping vocal processing on the computer is important. Its main trade-off is that useful model-generation capacity costs money and remains capped unless you add the Unlimited Model Generation option. Look elsewhere if your priority is guitar-amp software or you need a workflow outside its supported desktop platforms and hosts.
