Overview

Infor offers WFM on its own or alongside Infor HCM. Its planning tools use historical results, planned promotions, and weather information to forecast labor demand, while scheduling can account for demand, skills, availability, and employee preferences. That breadth is useful when staffing rules and demand change across locations or shifts; smaller teams with straightforward scheduling may not need this level of workforce planning.

Infor was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Its company roots are in ERP software, primarily for manufacturing. See Workforce Management Software for a broader category view.

Key features

Forecasting and scheduling

Machine-learning and adaptive forecasting spans minutes to years, giving planners scope to work across immediate coverage and longer-range labor needs. Coverage optimization and intraday management support adjustments as conditions change. Rules-based scheduling and shift replacement help match staffing to demand and workforce constraints, though buyers should confirm how those rules map to their own operating policies.

Time, attendance, and payroll

Real-time time capture, complex pay-rule calculations, time-off requests, and audit-ready compliance reports bring attendance administration into the workforce workflow. Payroll close produces an employee pay information export that can be transferred manually or automatically to an organization's payroll system. That export supports payroll handoff, but teams should establish whether the transfer method fits their existing process.

Healthcare staffing

Infor Clinical Science can calculate staffing workloads from nurse documentation through Clinical Bridge, which integrates with electronic medical records. This is a targeted capability for healthcare organizations seeking to connect clinical documentation with staffing workloads. Infor lists WFM, including Clinical Science, among its HIPAA-attested products.

Integrations and API

Infor documents an HR Talent integration through Infor ION and Business Object Documents, with configurable mappings and transformations. WFM can also connect with Infor OS Portal so employees can reach HR and WFM features through Employee Hub. API configuration and setup for the ION API integration are documented. These routes are useful for organizations already working with Infor systems, while teams on other HR or payroll platforms should validate the integration design they need.

Pricing

Infor Workforce Management has custom pricing; contact Infor for sales information. No plan tiers or trial terms are provided. Since the product is paid and pricing is not published, buyers should request a quote and establish which capabilities and implementation needs it covers before comparing costs.

Platforms

WFM supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, Windows, and an API. Mobile WFM is an HTML5 application, with current and previous Android and iOS versions supported. Chrome is supported on Android; Safari or Chrome is supported on iOS. The Self Service Portal is designed for portrait use on phones and also works on desktop, a practical constraint for employees who expect a full desktop-style mobile interface.

Infor lists Edge Chromium, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari as supported browsers; Safari is certified only on macOS, and Windows 10 and 11 are supported for browsers. Infor describes WFM as using a single secure platform and says its cloud offering follows robust security standards.

Who it's for

WFM is aimed at organizations with large, complex frontline workforces, with use cases spanning healthcare, manufacturing, public sector, and retail. It is a stronger fit where demand forecasting, complex pay rules, compliance, or healthcare staffing workloads matter together. Employers seeking a lightweight scheduler or a self-service payroll product should look elsewhere if they do not need that operational breadth.

Pros and cons

Pros: Forecasting spans minutes to years and draws on historical results, planned promotions, and weather, helping large operations plan at multiple horizons.
Pros: Scheduling, time capture, pay-rule calculations, and compliance reporting sit within one workforce platform, reducing the need to treat these as unrelated workflows.
Pros: Clinical Science and Clinical Bridge connect nurse documentation to staffing workloads for healthcare use cases.
Cons: Custom pricing makes budget comparison harder before a sales conversation.
Cons: Payroll data is exported for transfer rather than described as a native payroll workflow, so organizations should account for their handoff process.
Cons: Mobile WFM is browser-based, and the Self Service Portal is oriented to portrait phone use rather than a broad mobile workspace.

Alternatives

For benefits administration rather than frontline workforce planning, bswift offers a customizable implementation path for complex employers and channel partners, while PlanSource uses custom pricing based on solutions and services. Empyrean is another paid benefits-administration option with pricing discussed through a demo; Navia Benefit Solutions is a paid alternative available on Android, iOS, and web.

For a free entry point, Zoho People offers a free plan for five users, making it a different scale and pricing model from Infor WFM. BerniePortal Benefits Administration, Ease, and Employee Navigator are benefits-administration alternatives.

Verdict

Choose Infor Workforce Management if your organization has a large frontline workforce and needs forecasting, scheduling, time and attendance, and compliance in one operational system, especially when healthcare staffing or complex labor rules are in scope. Its breadth is the main reason to choose it; custom pricing, payroll-export handoffs, and a browser-based mobile experience are reasons to compare alternatives before committing.
