Overview

Navigator reads PLC code at sub-second frequency and uses that feed across monitoring, analysis, reporting, guided procedures, and its AI assistant. Monitor tracks OEE, throughput, line speed, and operating mode, while prioritising stops and deviations by their effect on output. That emphasis on production losses makes the product more than a dashboard: it is designed to direct attention toward constraints that matter to output.

Lineview positions Navigator for high-speed bottling and filling, with modules for beverage-plant teams. It says the cloud service provides 24/7 real-time access and monitors more than 600 lines in over 40 countries, with support for 25 languages. Those figures point to a product built for multi-line and international operations, though they do not establish how well it fits other manufacturing processes.

Key features

Monitoring and analysis

Monitor captures micro-stoppages under 30 seconds from PLC signals and ranks their cumulative impact. This is useful for teams whose production losses are easy to miss in conventional downtime reporting, and gives operators and supervisors a way to focus on the largest constraints first. Review turns performance into shift, daily, and weekly reports with cross-shift comparisons, while Analyse compares lines, sites, and regions and examines causal-loss trends over 90 days.

The consistent framework across sites is valuable for operations directors comparing performance across a wider estate. Quality and maintenance analytics are also supported, alongside OEE tracking and production analytics. The product's stated focus remains production operations, however, so teams should assess whether its beverage-oriented workflows match their own processes.

Guided work and AI

SmartWorker provides procedures for shift handover, root-cause analysis, centrelining audits, and CIL checks. These workflows can help turn identified losses into repeatable shop-floor actions rather than leaving follow-up to informal handovers. Role-specific views cover operators, shift supervisors, plant engineers, and operations directors.

AMI answers operational questions using Navigator production data, including live loss data and event history, as well as connected documents. It can detect recurring losses, declining MTBF, and data-quality issues. This makes the assistant relevant to teams investigating patterns in their operations; its scope is tied to Navigator's data and connected documents, rather than a general-purpose AI capability.

Connectivity and data handling

Lineview says Navigator connects with existing PLCs, historians, MES, and ERP systems, and can send data to BI tools, data lakes, and reporting platforms. Its API can also let external systems trigger mode changes, SKU switches, and line-configuration updates. That combination makes Navigator a potential fit for sites integrating production visibility with existing operational and reporting systems.

Lineview says anonymous industry benchmarking uses anonymised data and that no data leaves the customer's environment. Its privacy policy says personal-data transfers outside the EEA use an adequacy decision or a suitable data-protection agreement with appropriate safeguards. The company also says its manufacturing-experienced team provides implementation and support, with a response time within one business day.

Pricing

Navigator is paid software with custom pricing. Lineview invites prospective customers to book a demo and discuss implementation, pilot options, timelines, and indicative commercial structure. There is no self-serve lower tier described, so teams should expect to establish scope and commercial terms with Lineview before budgeting or committing.

Platforms

Navigator is a cloud product with web and API access. It reads production data directly from PLC code at sub-second frequency, and shop-floor connectors are supported. The platform approach suits plants that want real-time, remotely accessible monitoring, while API access gives external systems a route to trigger selected production updates.

Who it's for

Navigator is strongest for beverage manufacturers operating high-speed bottling or filling lines, especially those comparing losses across multiple lines, sites, or regions. Operators and supervisors get live indicators and guided procedures; engineers and operations leaders get loss analysis and cross-site comparisons. Manufacturers outside that production focus should confirm that the workflows and analytics align with their processes before choosing it.

Pros and cons

Pros: Sub-second PLC data powers live monitoring and loss analysis, including micro-stoppages under 30 seconds, helping teams identify losses that can escape broader downtime measures.
Pros: Reporting, 90-day causal-loss trends, and cross-site comparisons provide useful views from shift execution through multi-site performance management.
Pros: Guided shop-floor procedures and role-specific views connect analysis to handovers, audits, and routine checks.
Pros: Connections to plant systems, BI destinations, and API-triggered updates make it relevant to sites integrating production data into wider operations.
Cons: Its stated purpose-built focus is bottling and filling, which may make it a less direct fit for manufacturers with different production workflows.
Cons: Custom pricing and a commercial discussion around implementation and pilots make early cost and deployment planning less straightforward than a published self-serve plan.

Alternatives

For energy monitoring across facilities, ABB Nsight may be a better fit: its Real-time plan includes energy and power-quality monitoring, real-time rates, weather and CO₂, and integrations spanning DER, BMS, SCADA, and AMI. Choose Sight Machine when manufacturing analytics across a specified number of lines or plants is the priority and a custom enterprise agreement suits the procurement model.

Hexagon Q-DAS is an option for teams seeking solution packages tailored to their requirements and adaptable with supplements. Honeywell Forge may suit buyers looking across product-specific industrial offerings, including Advanced Process Control with term-based licensing and feature choices.

For teams comparing per-line production visibility, Factbird has a Production Insights app priced at 399.00 USD per month per line; each line includes one input, additional inputs incur a fee, and the Factbird platform is required. Tulip is worth considering when its Essentials plan's production visibility, quality features, and interface-based licensing model match the deployment.

Evocon offers a Basic plan at 189.00 EUR per month per machine on a one-year agreement, with shift tracking, factory overview, dashboards, sharing, and standard reports. For a quality-focused alternative, Sciemetric QualityWorX provides an enterprise database package with unlimited connections on a customer-provided SQL Server.

Verdict

Choose LineView Navigator if you run high-speed bottling or filling operations and need PLC-driven, real-time loss prioritisation tied to repeatable shop-floor workflows and cross-site analysis. Its clearest advantage is connecting sub-second production data to both operational decisions and guided actions. Look elsewhere if your manufacturing processes fall outside that focus or if you need transparent pricing before entering a commercial discussion.
