Overview

Routific, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Vancouver, combines route optimization with dispatch, live tracking, customer updates and proof of delivery. Its planner considers driver preferences, business priorities and traffic patterns, aiming for workable routes rather than optimizing distance in isolation. That broader focus suits teams managing deliveries from planning through completion; businesses seeking only occasional route planning may not need the full workflow.

Key features

Dispatchers can move stops on a map or timeline and add last-minute deliveries. Time-window planning, recurring routes and automatic reoptimization support changing schedules and repeat work. The maximum is 1,000 stops, so operations with larger routing jobs should check that ceiling against their needs.

Drivers receive dispatched routes and delivery instructions in a mobile app, with navigation through Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. Live GPS locations and updated ETAs give dispatchers visibility, while Routific says driver tracking runs only during work. Customers can use automated tracker links to follow an approaching driver and receive a completion notification. Email notifications are included, but SMS is excluded from the free plan and costs extra as a quoted add-on.

Drivers can capture signatures and multiple photos as proof of delivery, creating an audit trail that can help resolve disputes. APIs and real-time webhook events support integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Zoho and BigCommerce; Shopify is described as a two-way integration. Routific's privacy policy says it uses US data-hosting providers, SSL-secured communication and salted password hashes, while cautioning that absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Pricing

Routific offers a free plan for up to 100 orders a month, with all features except SMS notifications. It is a useful way to run lower-volume deliveries without a recurring fee, but the cap makes it unsuitable once monthly demand exceeds 100 orders. A free 7-day trial is also advertised.

The paid plan costs 150.00 USD per month for 101 to 1,000 orders a month. That flat price gives growing operations room beyond the free cap, but it is a substantial step up for teams only modestly above 100 orders. Above 1,000 orders, pricing is per order with lower rates at higher volume: 0.15 USD per month for each order from 1,001 to 2,000; 0.13 USD per month for each from 2,001 to 3,000; 0.10 USD per month for each from 3,001 to 5,000; 0.08 USD per month for each from 5,001 to 10,000; 0.05 USD per month for each from 10,001 to 20,000; and 0.03 USD per month for each from 20,001 to 50,000. Teams scaling beyond the base tier should account for these usage charges. A view-only support dashboard is included with all plans.

Platforms

Routific supports web, Android and iOS, alongside API access. That mix covers dispatch from a browser and route delivery through mobile apps, with APIs and webhooks for integration work.

Who it's for

Routific is a practical match for last-mile businesses that coordinate multiple drivers, need customer delivery visibility and value proof of completion. Its named industries include food, courier, farm, grocery and florist operations. The order caps and per-order tiers make monthly delivery volume central to fit: smaller teams can start free, while higher-volume teams should evaluate the usage curve against their expected demand.

Pros and cons

Pros: Route planning weighs driver preferences, business priorities and traffic, and dispatchers can revise routes as work changes.
Pros: Driver tracking, customer tracker links, completion notices and signature/photo proof cover key delivery communication and evidence needs.
Pros: API and webhook support, plus named commerce and business integrations, give teams options to connect delivery workflows to existing systems.
Cons: The free plan stops at 100 orders per month and excludes SMS, so low-volume teams needing text notifications will face an added cost.
Cons: Paid service starts at 150.00 USD per month, and higher volumes add per-order charges; this structure may not suit businesses with tight or unpredictable delivery budgets.
Cons: A 1,000-stop maximum can rule it out for routing workloads beyond that ceiling.

Alternatives

Shipday is worth considering for a smaller operation that wants a free tier with a higher stated monthly order allowance: its free plan covers up to 300 orders a month and 10 driver accounts, and the full platform can be tried for 14 days without a credit card.

Geo2 may fit a solo user focused on route planning with a very low-cost entry point: its free plan allows one user, up to 15 orders per route and 10 AI requests a day, while Pro costs 8.99 USD per month per user.

Routella is another freemium option for readers comparing delivery software with a free plan.

MaxOptra is a paid alternative for teams comparing fleet packages, including an option for fewer than five vehicles.

Onfleet is a paid option for teams that want a plan with 2,500 delivery or pickup tasks, unlimited users, basic route optimization, and API and webhook access; its Launch plan costs 619.00 USD per month.

OptimoRoute is a paid alternative whose Lite plan costs 35.10 USD per month when billed annually, per driver, and includes up to 700 orders at once, live tracking and a web service API.

Track-POD is a paid alternative with an Advanced plan at 49.00 USD per month billed annually, requiring at least three drivers and covering 6,000 orders per month.

LogiNext Mile is another paid delivery platform to compare.

Verdict

Choose Routific if your last-mile team needs route optimization tied to dispatch, driver and customer visibility, and proof of delivery in one workflow. Its flexible route editing and delivery evidence are compelling for day-to-day operations, but the $150.00 USD monthly paid tier, SMS add-on and order-based charges warrant a close look at volume. Teams below 100 monthly orders can start on the free plan; those needing a lower-cost paid entry or larger free allowance should compare alternatives.
