Overview

Kryptos classifies crypto activity and produces tax reports for more than 35 countries, alongside a live dashboard that combines accounts and shows crypto, DeFi and NFT activity. That combination suits users who want portfolio visibility and tax preparation in one product. Transactions can be imported manually, through an API or by CSV, and reports exported as PDF, CSV or K4.

The advertised 5,500+ integrations span exchanges, wallets, blockchains and DeFi protocols, a useful range for portfolios spread across services. The practical fit still depends on coverage for the particular sources a user relies on. Kryptos also supports tax-lot tracking, accounting exports and multi-entity use.

Key features

Portfolio and tax workflow

The unified dashboard connects account activity to tax reporting rather than treating portfolio monitoring and filing as separate jobs. Multiple import methods accommodate both direct connections and manual records, while three export formats offer options for filing and recordkeeping. The main constraint is transaction volume: free reporting stops at 100 transactions per tax year, so active portfolios may need a paid tier.

Developer API and business use

Kryptos Connect provides a unified API, normalized data, real-time webhooks and TypeScript and Python SDKs. Its free developer tier includes 10,000 requests per month and a stated rate limit of 60 requests per minute. That is a defined entry point for integrations, though teams with heavier request patterns should account for the rate limit.

Business features include treasury tracking, chart-of-accounts mapping, invoicing, payroll and audit-ready GAAP and IFRS reporting. Those capabilities make Kryptos relevant beyond individual tax filing, while enterprise plans add onboarding sessions; some include live chat and a dedicated customer success manager.

Security and mobile apps

Kryptos says it is ISO 27001 certified and has SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports available. Its native iOS and Android apps support portfolio syncing, push alerts, biometric authentication and tax report downloads. The mobile app page describes read-only API keys without withdrawal scopes, plus encryption at rest and in transit—a useful set of controls for users connecting financial accounts.

Pricing

Kryptos uses a freemium model, with tax plans billed per tax year and limits based on transaction count. Free costs 0.00 USD per free and covers up to 100 transactions per tax year; the pricing page says current and future years remain free at that limit. This is a sensible fit for low-volume filing, but not a broad free allowance for active traders.

Hobbyist costs 39.00 USD per year for up to 300 transactions. Lite is 89.00 USD per year for up to 1,000, while Standard is 139.00 USD per year for up to 3,000. Advanced costs 259.00 USD per year for up to 10,000 transactions; Elite is 459.00 USD per year for up to 30,000; Max is 689.00 USD per year for up to 50,000; and Ultra is 989.00 USD per year for up to 100,000. These tiers let users match annual cost to filing volume, but buyers should estimate transactions before committing to avoid choosing a cap that is too low.

Starter costs 45.00 USD per month, with quarterly or annual options shown and annual billing saving 20%; it covers up to 1,000 transactions and includes 5,500+ integrations. Its monthly price is a substantially different commitment from the annual tax tiers, so it is worth comparing the billing structure as well as the cap.

Pro Membership is an optional add-on billed $3 for your first month, then $6.99/month. It adds DeFi and NFT support, tax insights, daily sync, priority support, and API and MCP access. That package fits users who need those additions, but it is not a replacement for selecting a tax plan with enough transactions. A 14-day trial is offered. A customer who has not generated a tax report may request a refund within seven days of purchase.

Platforms

Kryptos is available on web, iOS and Android, and also offers an API. The mobile apps extend portfolio syncing and alerts to phones, while the API and SDKs support developer integrations. The available platform mix suits users who want both a browser-based tax workflow and mobile portfolio access.

Who it's for

Kryptos is a strong fit for individuals whose crypto activity spans several sources and who want portfolio monitoring alongside tax reports. Developers can use the unified API and SDKs, especially when 10,000 monthly requests and the 60-requests-per-minute limit fit their integration needs. Businesses needing treasury, accounting mappings or GAAP and IFRS reporting should consider its enterprise capabilities; Pro Membership includes priority support, while enterprise plans can provide additional onboarding and service.

It is less suited to users who cannot estimate transaction volume or whose filing needs exceed a chosen cap. Teams requiring request rates above the free API limit should also weigh whether the relevant paid arrangement fits their integration.

Pros and cons

Pros: Reporting for 35+ countries, multiple import and export formats, and 5,500+ advertised integrations make it adaptable to varied crypto workflows.
Pros: Portfolio tracking, tax reporting and developer tools sit in one product, with a free API tier and TypeScript and Python SDKs.
Pros: Annual tax plans scale up to 100,000 transactions, and free tax reporting covers current and future years at up to 100 transactions per year.
Cons: Transaction caps define the tax plans, so a low-cost tier may not fit active portfolios or uncertain annual volume.
Cons: The developer free tier is limited to 10,000 requests per month and 60 requests per minute.
Cons: Pro Membership is an additional monthly cost rather than part of the core annual tax plan.

Verdict

Choose Kryptos if you want crypto portfolio tracking and tax reporting across a broad range of sources, or need a developer API alongside those workflows. Its strongest case is the breadth of connected activity and reporting tools; its main caveat is that transaction caps and API rate limits require a realistic volume estimate. Look elsewhere if your activity is hard to predict or your expected usage does not fit the relevant limits.
