Overview

Metafy is a platform for gaming coaches and creators to sell instruction, content and community access. It best fits creators who want live coaching and self-paced products under one roof. Its range is a strength, but buyer checkout fees and the choice between transaction charges and an annual Pro subscription deserve close attention.

Key features

Creators can configure one-to-one sessions with a game, duration, description and banner, making Metafy suitable for coaches who want to package and sell individual instruction. Google Calendar sync adds sessions to the calendar and checks for conflicts, a useful guard against double bookings.

Events support live group classes and hangouts with chat; recordings can be sold as video on demand. Guides offer video or written material buyers can use on their own time. Together, these formats give creators options beyond individual appointments, though a coach who needs only a single type of offering may not need the broader toolkit.

Communities bring memberships, sessions, events, guides, polls and fundraisers together with creator content and members. Linking Discord lets membership tiers unlock server roles automatically, which suits creators who already use Discord to serve their audience. Technical users can access OAuth setup, API keys and webhooks to build integrations.

Account controls include two-factor authentication, active-session visibility and remote logout. On-platform bookings include refund protection, a booking record, transaction support and account protections. Support is offered through site chat, Discord, email and direct messages, with replies typically targeted within 6–8 hours.

Metafy supports 200 games and offers replay analysis, coach collaboration and a coach marketplace. It lists browser support for Chrome 111+, Edge 111+, Firefox 114+ and Safari 16.4+. Native apps include Android for coaches; the iOS app is continuing toward web feature parity, so users should not assume the mobile apps currently match the web experience.

Pricing

Metafy uses a freemium model. Core has no upfront cost and charges 12% + $1.79 per transaction, capped at 30% of earnings. That makes it a low-risk starting point for creators who earn irregularly, but the percentage-based charge can take a substantial share as sales grow.

Pro is $69.00 USD per year, billed annually. It includes everything in Core, all features, no additional fees, zero revenue share and 100% of earnings. The annual commitment is easier to justify for creators with enough sales that Core's transaction charges would outweigh the subscription; for occasional sellers, Core avoids paying upfront.

Buyer checkout fees apply separately: a 3.7% platform fee plus $1.79, capped at $20 or 50% of the total, and a 2.9% processing fee plus $0.40. Buyers therefore pay more than the creator's advertised price, which can affect purchase decisions for lower-priced offerings.

Platforms

Metafy is available on Android, iOS, web and through an API. The Android app is for coaches, while the iOS app is still moving toward web feature parity. Web users should use a supported browser: Chrome 111+, Edge 111+, Firefox 114+ or Safari 16.4+.

Who it's for

Metafy is a strong fit for gaming creators who want to combine one-to-one coaching with group events, guides or memberships, especially those who already run a Discord server or need calendar and developer integrations. Coaches who mainly want player analytics or aim-training tools should compare specialist options instead of paying for a broader creator platform.

Pros and cons

Pro: Sessions, events, guides and communities support several ways to teach and sell without splitting each offering across a different format.
Pro: Calendar conflict checks and Discord role automation reduce coordination work for coaches managing bookings and member access.
Pro: OAuth, API keys and webhooks provide technical access for teams building integrations.
Con: Core takes 12% + $1.79 per transaction, capped at 30% of earnings; creators with consistent sales may prefer Pro's annual cost.
Con: Buyer platform and processing fees add to the advertised price and can make low-priced purchases less attractive.
Con: The iOS app has not yet reached web feature parity, limiting the case for a fully equivalent mobile workflow.

Alternatives

For a narrower coaching or training workflow, these alternatives may fit better:

Game Coaching Software is a useful category starting point for comparing coaching platforms.
Callup.gg is worth considering for players seeking coaching reports and review reels, with a free tier that includes a few coach reviews a week and a first full coaching report.
Aimlabs is the more direct fit for aim training: its free plan includes 50K+ tasks and playlists and 500 FPS game profiles.
DataCoach suits players focused on replay-based coaching and training plans; its free Player Basic plan includes 10 monthly replays, 10 DataCoach Chat tokens and progression tracking.
Refocus is an option for players who want match reports, player profiling and an aim-training playlist, with those features included in its free plan.
Vanta offers one-time esports coaching bundles for ages 8–18, making it a more focused choice for younger beginners seeking structured sessions.
Sabu.gg is a free-download option for players who want a tool available on Linux, macOS and Windows.
Mobalytics is an alternative for players seeking scouting, statistics, build recommendations and matchup advice.
iTero is another freemium option available on web and Windows.

Verdict

Choose Metafy if you are a gaming coach or creator who wants to sell individual instruction, group events and self-paced content alongside community access, with integrations to support your workflow. Core lowers the barrier to start, while Pro can make sense once transaction charges exceed the annual subscription. Look elsewhere if your priority is player analytics or aim training, or if buyer checkout fees and the current iOS feature gap are deal-breakers.
