Overview

LegitQuest brings case-law and statute research together with matter management and legal due diligence. Its research database spans Supreme Court judgments from 1950, daily-updated High Court rulings, and weekly-updated district court and tribunal orders, alongside Acts, treaties, bills and commission reports. That Indian jurisdiction focus makes it a natural fit for teams whose work centers on domestic proceedings; it is not a substitute for a research platform aimed at other jurisdictions.

Alongside research, the platform offers ZaiAN for legal queries and document analysis, and LIBIL for litigation checks and related due diligence. This combination can reduce the need to stitch together separate research, workflow and screening tools. The trade-off is that teams should confirm which tools and usage allowances their chosen plan actually covers before committing.

Key features

Research and legal AI

Search covers case law, statutes and regulations, dockets and legal commentary, with citation tools and research alerts. AI-powered search, one-click judgment insights, headnotes, timelines, visual case representations, annotations and generative chat give researchers several ways to move from a result to a usable understanding. ZaiAN can answer legal questions, draft, analyze and summarize, and monitor legal compliance. It can also draw on uploaded documents, email and drive sources, which is useful when a question depends on a team’s own materials as well as legal sources.

The Plus plan’s 1,200 AI chats annually set a meaningful ceiling for smaller teams. Enterprise removes that stated chat limit, but teams should weigh the higher, contact-based starting price against their expected usage.

Litigation workflows

The management tools cover matters, tasks, documents, reports, workflows, analytics, billing and expenses, with real-time alerts across more than 10,000 forums. Plus offers limited matter, task and document management and case tracking; that can suit a small practice with modest workflow needs, but it leaves less room for expanding caseloads. Enterprise provides unlimited matter, task and document management and case tracking, as well as custom integration and a dedicated account manager.

Due diligence and data protection

LIBIL supports litigation checks, asset searches and proprietary scoring, with subscription, API and pay-per-use options. Its coverage includes more than 500 million legal records across more than 10,000 Indian courts and tribunals, with over 500,000 new records added daily. Reports include instant, detailed, lawyer-verified, IPO diligence and FIR checks; Instant and Detailed report data can also be integrated by API into KYC, core banking or compliance systems. That breadth is useful for legal and financial decision-makers, though teams should select the report and access model that fits their screening workflow.

LegitQuest says it uses encryption and secure cloud infrastructure to protect user data. It also describes ISO 9001:2015, ISO 20000-1:2018 and ISO 27001:2022 surveillance and CERT-In empanelled assurance services. These are relevant assurances for teams assessing a legal-data platform, alongside their own security review.

Pricing

Qualified attorneys and legal professionals at companies in India can request demos and free trial access, with limited trial spots. Confirm eligibility and trial scope before relying on trial access for an evaluation.

Plan	Price	What it includes	Best fit
Plus (SMEs)	40000.00 INR per year (billed Yearly \| Half-Yearly); ₹ 60,000 per ID* also shown	Less than 5 ids, 5 keyword suggestion alerts, 1,200 AI chats annually, and limited matter/task/document management and case tracking	Smaller teams that want research and a defined amount of workflow and AI usage.
Enterprise	300000.00 INR per contact (billed Starting from)	Unlimited matter/task/document management, unlimited case tracking, unlimited keyword alerts and AI chat, a dedicated account manager and custom integration	Organizations with larger case volumes, heavier AI use or integration needs.

Plus is capped at fewer than five IDs and limits alerts, chats and workflow capacity, so its lower-tier scope is a poor match for a growing team that needs broad access or sustained usage. The pricing presentation also shows ₹ 60,000 per ID* alongside the annual price; confirm how that per-ID figure applies. Enterprise pricing starts at 300000.00 INR per contact, making a provider conversation important for budgeting. Subscribers can change or cancel plans anytime; billing support is available at care@legitquest.com or through in-app live chat.

Platforms

LegitQuest is available on web and through an API. The API options are particularly relevant for teams integrating LIBIL report data into KYC, core banking or compliance systems. The ZaiAN workflow also describes connecting existing tools and selecting email, drive or uploaded files as query sources.

Who it's for

LegitQuest is a strong candidate for Indian law firms and corporate legal teams that want research and litigation workflows in one platform, and for legal or financial teams that need court-record due diligence. Smaller practices can start with Plus if fewer than five IDs and the stated chat and alert limits are adequate. Larger organizations should consider Enterprise when unlimited case tracking, broader workflow capacity or custom integration is central to the decision. Teams needing research outside India should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad Indian court coverage: Research spans the Supreme Court, High Courts, district courts and tribunals, while LIBIL covers more than 10,000 courts and tribunals.
Research and workflow in one product: Case insights, alerts, matter management, billing and analytics can serve teams that want fewer disconnected tools.
Useful integration paths: ZaiAN can use email, drive and uploaded materials, and LIBIL offers API data for Instant and Detailed reports.
Enterprise capacity: Unlimited tracking, workflow and AI chat, plus custom integration and a dedicated account manager, address needs beyond a small-team plan.

Cons

Plus has tight capacity boundaries: Fewer than five IDs, five keyword suggestion alerts and 1,200 annual AI chats may constrain teams with broader adoption or frequent research.
Enterprise requires a sales conversation: Its starting price is per contact, which makes straightforward budget comparisons harder.
Trial access is conditional: Access is for qualified attorneys and legal professionals at companies in India, with limited spots, and the credits have no stated quantity or duration.
Geographic focus: The stated research and court coverage centers on India, limiting its fit for teams whose primary work is in other jurisdictions.

Alternatives

For a paid research platform with API and web access and a trial plan that includes full coverage, manual and agentic research tools, an AI citator, plugins and limited AI usage, consider Midpage; its listed Law Student plan is 25.00 USD per mon. For free Canadian legal information on the web, CanLII is the better fit; Search+ requires a free myCanLII account and has a daily usage limit.

CourtListener is a free, open-source option with web access and a free tier that includes five docket alerts, unlimited daily opinion search alerts and five daily RECAP search alerts. For free public legal information and collections on the web, choose the Legal Information Institute. RECAP is a freemium option with free access and extension, iOS and web platforms.

For a broader US-law offering, Fastcase has a free plan and trial; its Appellate plan is 65.00 USD per month, with 50-state and federal law, appellate case law, nationwide statutes and regulations, and no contract. If the priority is paid web-based case tracking from Thomson Reuters, consider Thomson Reuters Case Tracking. For web-based legal content and tools under one unlimited-access offering, consider Bloomberg Law; pricing requires a sales inquiry.

Verdict

LegitQuest is best for legal teams whose work is rooted in Indian courts and who want research, matter workflows and due diligence under one roof. Its combination of court coverage, ZaiAN and LIBIL is the main reason to choose it; the key reasons to look elsewhere are a need for non-Indian coverage or a tighter, more transparent budget. Confirm Plus’s per-ID pricing and trial terms, and compare Enterprise’s starting price with the capacity your team actually needs.
