Overview

Founded in 2011, LoginTC is based in Kanata, Ontario, and serves organizations from small businesses to large enterprises, including healthcare, finance and government. Its deployment choices span cloud, on-premises, hybrid and air-gapped environments, making it a candidate for teams whose infrastructure or operating constraints rule out a cloud-only approach. LoginTC has been ISO 27001 certified since 2023.

Key features

LoginTC supports push notifications and number matching, software OTP, authenticator apps, OATH hardware tokens, FIDO2/WebAuthn security keys, email and SMS passcodes, phone calls, biometrics, passcode grids and bypass codes. That breadth can accommodate users with different devices and authentication needs. Offline authentication, including QR scanning, is available in Business, so teams that need this option must account for the higher plan price.

Connectors cover RADIUS VPN and remote access, Active Directory and LDAP, Outlook Web App, RD Web Access, ADFS, Windows Logon and RDP, and Entra ID EAM for Office 365. Integration methods also include SAML/SSO, connectors and iframe authentication. The REST API can administer users, tokens and domain membership, and send or check authentication sessions; it applies only to LoginTC Cloud, which limits its usefulness for teams running on-premises deployments that need custom API integration.

Adaptive access policies, passwordless authentication and device trust controls broaden its access-management capabilities beyond a second-factor prompt. Standard support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EST, with 24/7/365 coverage for critical issues.

Pricing

Cloud Starter is free for up to three users and includes VPN and firewall protection plus push authentication. It is a practical way for a very small team to use basic MFA, but the three-user cap makes it unsuitable as a free team-wide deployment.

Cloud Professional costs 3.00 USD per month, billed annually, and Cloud Business costs 5.00 USD per month, billed annually. On-Premises Managed costs 7.00 USD per month, billed annually. All paid subscriptions require at least 15 users, with licenses added in bundles of five. That minimum is a meaningful commitment for smaller organizations; the per-month figures do not make these month-to-month subscriptions.

The 15-day free trial includes Business features and requires no credit card, giving teams a way to assess the broader feature set before choosing a plan. Business is the relevant tier for organizations that need offline authentication; On-Premises Managed is the paid option for teams choosing a managed on-premises deployment. Professional is the lower-priced paid cloud tier, but its price alone does not establish that it includes Business features.

Platforms

LoginTC supports Android and iOS, web, browser extensions, Windows, APIs and self-hosted deployments. The platform range is useful for mixed environments, while the Cloud-only REST API scope is a separate constraint for custom integration work.

Who it's for

LoginTC fits organizations that need MFA across existing VPN, directory, Microsoft and Windows access systems, or that need a choice of cloud, on-premises, hybrid or air-gapped deployment. Its varied factors can help teams serve users with different devices or connectivity circumstances. Smaller teams should weigh the 15-user paid minimum against the free plan's three-user ceiling.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad factor support, including security keys, hardware tokens, phone calls and offline authentication, gives organizations options for varied user and access requirements.
Pro: Connectors for RADIUS, directories, Microsoft services and Windows access make it relevant to organizations extending MFA across established systems.
Pro: Cloud, on-premises, hybrid and air-gapped deployment choices suit teams with differing infrastructure constraints.
Con: Paid plans have a 15-user minimum and licenses are sold in bundles of five, which can force smaller teams to buy more seats than they need.
Con: The REST API is limited to Cloud deployments, so it does not serve custom API integration needs for on-premises installations.
Con: The free plan stops at three users and includes push authentication, while offline authentication is a Business feature.

Alternatives

For a focused comparison, browse Multi-Factor Authentication Software or Authenticator apps. Choose HYPR Authenticate if its listed phishing-resistant onboarding and web access align with your needs. OpenOTP Authentication Server is worth considering if a freeware option capped at 25 users and one server fits your deployment. HID Approve offers consumer and workforce authentication through mobile app or SDK deployment.

Proton Authenticator is a free, open-source authenticator for teams prioritizing inspectable code. Duo Mobile offers a free tier for up to 10 users and a $3-per-month Essentials plan. Yubico Authenticator is free and open source, but requires a YubiKey to store and generate credentials. Zoho OneAuth is free across platforms for Zoho work accounts and personal online accounts. Ente Auth is a free, open-source option that supports exporting and importing data.

Verdict

Choose LoginTC if you need broad factor support and deployment flexibility tied to established access systems, especially when on-premises or air-gapped operation matters. Look elsewhere if your team needs a paid plan for fewer than 15 users or requires REST API integration with an on-premises deployment.
