Overview

Describe a mood, genre, instrumentation, and tempo in plain language, then request changes such as a key shift, warmer sound, or longer outro. That iterative approach offers more control than accepting a first result, but each minute of generated audio uses a credit, so substantial experimentation can exhaust a monthly allowance.

Key features

Musigation supports adaptive generation and nature sound layers. Downloads can be final mixes or stems, with output formats tied to plan: Free is MP3-only; Starter adds WAV and stem separation; Pro and Studio add FLAC and Opus. This is a practical progression for creators who begin with simple previews and later need separate parts or wider format choice.

One credit equals one minute of generated audio. Subscription credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, while credit-pack credits do not expire. Generated music and project data are retained while the account is active. Musigation says data is encrypted in transit via TLS and stored on servers provided by Convex and Clerk; Stripe processes payments, and Musigation says it does not store card details. Its privacy policy names ElevenLabs as its music-generation provider. Users must be at least 13.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes one credit a month, MP3 output, composition planning, and lyric and style editing. That is enough to try the workflow, but its one-minute monthly allowance and non-commercial terms rule it out for ongoing or client work.

Starter costs 10.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for 15 credits, MP3 and WAV, stem separation, composition planning, and commercial rights. It is the sensible entry point for modest production needs where WAV or commercial use matters.

Pro costs 24.00 USD per month, billed monthly, and raises the allowance to 45 credits while adding FLAC, Opus, and priority support. It suits users who need more generation time and format flexibility, though the credits still impose a firm ceiling.

Studio costs 79.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for 175 credits, the same listed formats and stem separation, priority support, and early access to new features. Its larger quota fits heavier recurring work; teams should note that the plan details specify credits, not seats.

The Credit Pack costs 10.00 USD per month on a pay-as-you-go basis and provides 10 credits that never expire. It suits occasional use better than a subscription when work is intermittent, but carries no listed commercial rights or output-format benefits beyond the plan terms attached to an account.

Platforms

Musigation runs on the web, making it accessible through a browser without a listed mobile app.

Who it's for

Choose Musigation if you want prompt-led composition, room to revise generated tracks, and downloadable mixes or stems. It is less suitable for people who need a large monthly volume on a low budget, a fixed music library, or commercial rights without moving beyond Free.

Pros and cons

Pros: Plain-language prompts and iterative edits let creators steer mood, instrumentation, and arrangement rather than accept a one-shot result.
Pros: Stem separation begins at Starter, and Pro and Studio offer FLAC and Opus alongside MP3 and WAV.
Pros: Purchased credit-pack credits do not expire, offering a useful option for irregular projects.
Cons: Free is capped at one credit per month, MP3 output, and personal non-commercial use.
Cons: Subscription credits expire each billing cycle, so unused monthly allowance cannot carry forward.

Verdict

Musigation is a good fit for creators who want to generate and refine original music from prompts, especially when stems or commercial rights are needed. Its strongest reason to choose it is the combination of iterative editing and plan-based export options; look elsewhere if you need generous carryover, broad platform coverage, or more predictable high-volume output without credit limits.
