Overview

MeetNotes turns recordings into speaker-labelled transcripts and minutes containing summaries, decisions, and action items. Users can record in-person meetings with a phone, bring its notetaker into supported online calls, or capture computer playback and microphone audio with the Mac and Windows apps. This range is useful for teams whose meetings do not all happen in the same setting, without requiring dedicated recording hardware for in-person use.

Users can sign into the web service with the same account to read, search, and export meetings. Minutes are editable and can be shared as PDF or Word files, including by email or WhatsApp. MeetNotes says minutes can be written in any of 110 languages and transcription can handle mid-sentence language switching, a meaningful advantage for teams whose conversations move between languages.

Key features

Capture and outputs

The online notetaker joins Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams through a meeting link or calendar invitation. Mac and Windows apps capture playback and microphone audio for services including Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Webex, and WhatsApp calls. That makes the product adaptable across common meeting formats, though desktop capture is tied to its Mac and Windows apps.

For developers and platform partners, the Partner API accepts audio uploads up to 300 MB and returns transcripts and minutes in PDF, Word, or Markdown. That gives teams a path to process audio outside the consumer recording flows. Team workspaces use a shared pool of recording minutes, while each meeting stays private to its recorder until explicitly shared; this supports controlled collaboration but means sharing is not automatic.

Security and support

MeetNotes states recordings are encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES-256. It also sends audio and transcript content to third-party AI providers solely to produce transcripts and minutes. The company says it does not currently hold formal certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, a significant consideration for organizations with formal vendor-security requirements. Support is available by email, with an expected reply within a day.

Pricing

MeetNotes combines a free plan, one-time minute packs, and Pro or Max subscriptions. The free plan costs 0.00 INR per free and includes 100 minutes once, speaker-labelled transcripts, PDF and Word minutes, 100+ languages, Self mode, and web access. It is a useful way to try the workflow, but the allowance does not renew, so it is not a continuing free tier for regular meeting capture.

Minute packs are bought once and never expire: 30 minutes costs 99.00 INR per month, 100 minutes 299.00 INR per month, 500 minutes 1450.00 INR per month, 2,000 minutes 4999.00 INR per month, and 25,000 minutes 55900.00 INR per month. The one-time purchase and non-expiring minutes suit intermittent users who want to avoid losing unused quota, while teams with steady usage may prefer a recurring allowance. The Minute packs offer also gives a 15 to 25,000 minute range for 5955900.00 INR per once, with prices including applicable taxes.

Pro includes 1,000 minutes per month, and Max includes 2,000 minutes per month; both are offered monthly or yearly, with the allowance resetting each billing period. These recurring plans fit consistent use better than buying packs, but their prices are custom pricing. MeetNotes has no free trial, so the free plan is the available entry point before committing to paid usage.

Platforms

MeetNotes supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, alongside its API. Mobile apps support phone-based capture, desktop apps handle computer and microphone audio, and web access supports reviewing and exporting meetings. This spread gives teams several ways to work across devices without relying on a single capture method.

Who it's for

MeetNotes is aimed at founders and managers in small and mid-size businesses, consultants, chartered accountants, site and project teams, and housing society committees. It is particularly compelling when meetings happen both in person and online, language switching is common, or an API workflow matters. Organizations that require formal security certifications should look elsewhere, as should teams that need their entire meeting archive to become shared by default.

Pros and cons

Pros: Phone-based in-person recording, online meeting joining, and desktop audio capture cover varied meeting settings without dedicated recording hardware.
Pros: Editable minutes, searchable web access, and PDF or Word sharing make the output usable beyond the original recorder.
Pros: Support for 110 languages and mid-sentence language switching addresses multilingual meetings directly.
Pros: Non-expiring minute packs suit occasional users who want to retain purchased quota.
Cons: The free plan's 100 minutes are a one-time allowance, limiting its usefulness for ongoing free use.
Cons: Audio and transcript content goes to third-party AI providers, and MeetNotes lacks formal SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification.
Cons: Meeting privacy is the default in team workspaces, so recordings must be explicitly shared when colleagues need access.
Cons: Pro and Max prices are custom pricing, making recurring-plan costs harder to compare from the outset.

Alternatives

Consider Meeting Assistant Software or Meeting Notes Software to compare options across these categories.

Fellow may suit teams that want a free plan with five lifetime AI notes per user and a free trial. Grain is worth considering for a free notetaker seat and 20 bot-recorded meetings for personal email users, though its free meetings are capped at 45 minutes. Fireflies.ai offers individuals a free-forever plan with 400 minutes of team storage and 20 AI credits. MeetGeek may fit users comfortable with a free-forever allowance of three transcription hours per month and three months of transcript storage. Notta provides one free seat and 120 transcription minutes per month. Spinach AI is a web-only alternative with a free plan limited to a number of meetings per month. Avoma may suit organizations seeking paid-seat plans with free view-only seats. DoodleNote is an alternative for readers prioritizing open-source software.

Verdict

MeetNotes is a good choice for small and mid-size teams, consultants, and project groups that need flexible meeting capture, multilingual transcripts, and editable minutes across devices. Its strongest reasons to choose it are its breadth of recording paths and non-expiring minute packs for irregular workloads. Look elsewhere if third-party AI processing or the absence of formal security certifications conflicts with your requirements, or if you need a free allowance that renews regularly.
