Overview

Writizzy brings article publishing, newsletters, and paid subscriptions into one platform. The editor includes outlines, comments, cover images, and one-click publishing, while scheduling and custom domains support a more deliberate publishing workflow. Themes offer dark mode, custom colors, and typography controls, giving publishers meaningful presentation options without limiting them to a fixed look.

Migration tools can import posts, drafts, tags, and subscribers from Substack, WordPress, Ghost, Medium, or Beehiiv. That makes Writizzy a plausible destination for an established publication, though the plan limits still matter: a large subscriber list may push a writer beyond Starter’s 1,000 subscribers and toward Premium or Teams.

Key features

Newsletters and memberships

Posts can be sent to subscribers, with subscriber management, double opt-in, and delivery tracking included. Paid subscriptions run through Stripe, and Writizzy says it charges no platform commission. That is a clear advantage for writers monetizing directly, although the available subscriber allowance varies sharply by plan.

Publishing and integrations

Built-in analytics are described as privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant, and cookie-free. The integration list includes Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Discord, Zapier, Make, webhooks, GitHub, and media embeds, giving teams several routes to connect distribution and workflows. Writizzy also offers team collaboration for teams and agencies, with team members, granular permissions, and multiple authors per post on Teams.

Privacy and operations

Writizzy’s privacy policy says it uses encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and daily backups. It says blog data is hosted in the EU wherever possible and that user data is not sold. Privacy requests can be sent to contact@writizzy.com; support messages are retained for up to three years after last contact.

Pricing

Writizzy is freemium, with a free plan and paid plans starting at €9/mo. The plans are differentiated by media storage, analytics events, subscriber capacity, blog count, and, at the Teams level, collaboration controls.

Plan	Price	Limits and inclusions
Free	0.00 EUR per free	100MB media storage, 10,000 analytics events/mo, 100 newsletter subscribers, 1 blog
Starter	9.00 EUR per month	5GB media storage, 50,000 analytics events/mo, 1,000 subscribers, up to 3 blogs
Premium	20.00 EUR per month	10GB media storage, unlimited analytics, up to 75,000 subscribers, up to 10 blogs
Teams	50.00 EUR per month	Up to 75,000 subscribers and 10 blogs, team members, granular permissions, multiple authors per post

Free is a useful starting point for a single small publication, but its 100-subscriber ceiling and 400 monthly email sends constrain newsletter growth; it also provides just 100MB of media storage. Starter raises the email allowance to 4,000 monthly sends and the subscriber limit to 1,000, while permitting three blogs, making it a practical step up for a growing independent publisher. Premium is the more suitable choice for a larger audience or several publications, with up to 75,000 subscribers and unlimited analytics. Teams adds explicit multi-author and permissions features for organizations that need shared publishing rather than simply a bigger audience cap.

Platforms

Writizzy is available on web and through an API. That combination suits teams that want a browser-based publishing workflow while retaining an API option for integration. Custom domains are supported, and advanced theme customization gives publishers control over presentation.

Who it's for

Writizzy fits writers building a publication around articles, newsletters, and paid memberships, especially those migrating from another blogging or newsletter service. Starter suits a modest publication that has outgrown the free subscriber cap; Premium suits publishers with larger lists or multiple blogs; Teams is aimed at agencies and teams that need multiple authors and granular permissions. A publication that needs only a basic blog, or one whose email needs exceed the stated monthly allowances, should compare alternatives before committing.

Pros and cons

Pros: Articles, newsletters, and Stripe-powered paid subscriptions share one platform, with a stated 0% platform commission.
Pros: Migration imports posts, drafts, tags, and subscribers from five named publishing services, reducing the work of moving an existing publication.
Pros: The free and Starter plans provide explicit subscriber, monthly email-send, storage, and blog limits, making capacity easier to assess before upgrading.
Cons: The free plan is capped at 100 subscribers and 400 monthly email sends, so it is a trial-size option for newsletter growth rather than a durable fit for a larger list.
Cons: The free plan’s 100MB storage and single-blog allowance may be restrictive for media-heavy or multi-publication use.
Cons: Team collaboration features are attached to Teams, so organizations needing granular permissions or multiple authors per post must choose the highest-priced listed plan.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Blogging Platforms. Hyvor Blogs is worth considering for solo bloggers seeking a personal plan at 5.00 EUR per month, billed annually at €50/year, with one user and one blog. Hashnode may suit a developer managing multiple publications: its Pro plan is 5.00 USD per month and includes one Pro publication plus nine free publications, with unlimited articles.

Pagecord is a different option for someone who wants a free-forever plan with unlimited posts and pages, one blog, and 20 uploads. ReactPress is a free, MIT-licensed self-hosted alternative for readers who prefer to run their own software. JustBlogged offers a free-forever plan with up to five blogs, unlimited posts and pages, custom domain support, and free SSL.

BlogHandy is another freemium blogging platform, with a Business plan at 59.00 USD per month billed monthly and a 14-day free trial. WordPress.com is an alternative with a free plan that has no expiration date, 1 GB storage, unlimited pages and posts, and basic stats for seven days. Write.as is also an alternative.

Verdict

Choose Writizzy if you want a single platform for articles, newsletters, and paid memberships, and its subscriber and email allowances fit your audience. Migration support and the range of publishing controls make it compelling for writers moving an existing publication. Look elsewhere if the free plan’s low subscriber and send caps are too tight, or if your team needs collaboration features without moving to Teams.
