Overview

VanceAI Photo Restorer repairs common damage and faded color in old photos, with optional colorization and a separate upscaling step. It suits people who want a straightforward web restoration workflow, while Windows users with batches to process have a local option. Its strongest distinction is that desktop processing is unlimited and uses no credits; the web service charges credits per completed restoration.

Key features

The workflow automatically repairs scratches, tears, stains and creases, enhances faces, and corrects faded color. That combination makes it a practical fit for general restoration rather than a tool requiring separate manual steps for each kind of damage. Black-and-white colorization is optional and produces a separate copy, while sending a restored image to the separate upscaler is useful when preparing a larger reprint.

Free credits let users preview a restored result without a watermark or credit card, but each completed restoration consumes credits. Paid web plans produce clean results without watermarks and allow uploads up to 10MB and 34MP. Those limits matter for high-resolution scans: larger files call for the Windows PC option, which accepts images of any size and processes them locally without credits or a queue.

For teams integrating restoration into an existing workflow, VanceAI offers API documentation, an Agent Skill, a ComfyUI Node, and custom enterprise integration. Uploaded images are encrypted in transit and deleted within 24 hours after processing.

Pricing

VanceAI combines free credits with paid web subscriptions and Windows PC licenses. Web pricing is credit-based, and restoration costs 4 credits at 1K or 2K resolution and 10 credits at 4K. The monthly credit allowance therefore matters as much as the headline price.

Free plan: Free credits support a preview without a watermark or credit card; completed restorations use credits. This is a way to assess the workflow, not a dependable recurring quota.
Starter — 15.00 USD per month: 260 credits per month. A modest starting allowance, but 4K restorations consume more than twice the credits of 1K/2K work.
Popular — 30.00 USD per month: 650 credits per month. A larger allowance for regular web use, with the same per-restoration credit costs.
Creator — 45.00 USD per month: 1,300 credits per month, suited to a heavier stream of web restorations.
Studio — 75.00 USD per month: 2,600 credits per month, the largest stated web allowance for teams or sustained volume. No seat count is stated.
VanceAI for PC — 1 month — 39.90 USD per month: Unlimited local processing, all features, one PC license, 100 free web credits, and priority technical support. It renews monthly and can be canceled anytime.
VanceAI for PC — 1 year — 99.90 USD per year: Unlimited local processing, all features, one PC license, 200 free web credits, and priority technical support. It renews annually and can be canceled anytime.
VanceAI for PC — Lifetime — 129.90 USD per once: Unlimited local processing, all features, one PC license, 300 free web credits, and priority technical support. It is a one-time purchase.
Enterprise: Custom pricing, with volume pricing and custom terms, custom integration, automated batch processing, and direct engineering support.

The annual and lifetime desktop licenses are more economical than the monthly license for sustained local use, but each covers only one PC. Web plans suit users who prefer browser access and can work within the upload and credit limits; desktop is the more compelling route for large files or batches. The web plans include 24/7 customer support.

Platforms

VanceAI lists API, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows support. The web app processes one image at a time; batch restoration and local processing are provided by VanceAI for PC on Windows. That makes the desktop license the relevant choice for batch work, while web users trade batch capability for a single-image workflow.

Who it's for

Choose VanceAI when restoration needs include repairing several kinds of damage, improving facial detail, and correcting faded color, or when an existing stack can use its API or ComfyUI integration. It is also a strong fit for Windows users with batches, oversized files, or a preference for local processing. It is less suitable for web-only batch jobs or restorations that exceed the stated upload cap.

Pros and cons

Pro: Automated repair, face enhancement, and faded-color correction cover several common restoration tasks in one workflow.
Pro: Windows local processing has no credit use or queue and accepts images of any size, a meaningful advantage for large scans and batches.
Pro: API, Agent Skill, and ComfyUI Node options give builders more integration routes than a standalone web tool.
Con: Web restoration handles only one image at a time and is limited to 10MB and 34MP uploads.
Con: Credit costs rise from 4 for 1K/2K to 10 for 4K, so high-resolution work consumes a monthly allowance quickly.
Con: The paid Windows plans are licensed for one PC, which limits how widely a team can share the local workflow.
