Overview

NatureQuery turns plain-English questions into SQL, runs them against connected databases, and gives teams ways to export, visualize, and share results. It is best suited to teams that want a cloud-based natural-language query tool across common relational databases; its free tier makes it approachable, while the paid plans impose clear connection and seat boundaries.

Key features

NatureQuery generates SQL with database-schema context and supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, SQL Server, MariaDB, and Amazon Redshift. That breadth makes it relevant to teams with varied database estates, though the product is a cloud service rather than a self-hosted option. Query explanations and optimization, plus conversational follow-ups, schema discovery, SQL explanation, and AI Fix It, can help users move from a question to an understandable query and refine it without starting over.

Results can be exported to Excel or CSV and turned into bar, line, or pie charts. These are practical ways to take query output into reporting workflows, but the listed visualization choices are limited to those three chart types. Team features include invitations and role-based sharing of connections and saved queries, with five members on Pro and unlimited members on Enterprise.

Security controls include AES-256-GCM encryption for credentials, bcrypt password hashing, encrypted connections in transit, and a policy of not storing query results. Two-factor authentication, SQL injection prevention, and rate limiting add relevant safeguards. Enterprise adds SSO / SAML, audit logs and compliance features, custom AI models, and dedicated support with an SLA.

Pricing

Free costs 0.00 USD per free (billed $0 forever). It includes 50 queries per month, one database connection, Excel and CSV export, and 30 days of query history. This is enough to evaluate a small workflow, but the monthly query cap and single connection make it a poor fit for sustained use across multiple databases.

Pro costs 20.00 USD per month (billed $20/month). It removes the query cap, raises the connection allowance to 10, and includes team collaboration for five members, API access, and priority support. For teams that need regular querying and API integration without enterprise controls, this is the practical step up; the five-member limit is the constraint to watch.

Enterprise costs 79.00 USD per month (billed $79/month). It includes unlimited queries, connections, and members, along with SSO / SAML, audit log and compliance features, and dedicated support with an SLA. It is the fit for larger or more security-conscious teams that need those controls, though custom AI models are also listed among Enterprise features.

Annual billing is planned, with a stated 20% discount, but is not yet offered. The team says it typically responds within 24 hours and provides separate support and enterprise sales email contacts.

Platforms

NatureQuery is available through the web and an API, and is deployed in the cloud. Teams needing a self-hosted deployment should look elsewhere.

Who it's for

NatureQuery suits analysts, developers, and teams that want to ask database questions in plain English, then inspect, export, or share the resulting work. Its schema-aware generation and six supported database types are useful when a team needs one interface across several systems. The free plan is suitable for light evaluation; Pro targets ongoing work with multiple connections, while Enterprise is aimed at organizations that require broader access and formal controls.

Pros and cons

Pro: Supports six named database systems, including both open-source databases and SQL Server and Redshift, giving teams meaningful coverage across common stacks.
Pro: Exports, charts, query explanations, and team sharing make generated SQL results more usable than a query string alone.
Pro: The free plan offers a no-cost starting point, and Pro adds unlimited queries at $20/month.
Con: Free is capped at 50 queries monthly and one connection, so it is only a limited test bed for multi-database work.
Con: Pro stops at five team members; larger teams need Enterprise for unlimited seats.
Con: Cloud-only availability rules it out for teams requiring self-hosting.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see AI SQL Generators. Consider Outerbase AI if its free plan's five-user allowance or support for macOS, Windows, and self-hosting better fits your environment. Wren AI is worth considering when an open-source context engine used through CLI and MCP, without a UI, is preferable for individual developers.

Text2SQL.ai is another option. Vanna AI offers a $50/month Explorer plan with 20 questions per day and an API. SQLAI.ai has a $4/month Hobby plan with 50 queries per month. Basedash is an alternative. SQL Mocker offers a free Explore plan with 50 AI queries total for one user. QueryPlane has a free plan for up to three apps, one connection, and 50 AI prompts per month, and supports self-hosting.

Verdict

Choose NatureQuery if your team wants schema-aware natural-language SQL across supported databases, with exports, charts, and collaboration in a cloud product. Its main advantage is the combination of a useful free entry point and an affordable Pro plan with unlimited queries. Look elsewhere if you need self-hosting, more than five seats without moving to Enterprise, or a different deployment model.
