Overview

Moki is a cloud-based mobile device management platform for organizations deploying dedicated iOS and Android devices across multiple locations. It is best suited to teams that need to lock down, enroll, monitor, and remotely manage kiosks, point-of-sale systems, signage, tablets, or employee handhelds from one place. Its broad device-management scope is a strong fit for operational fleets, though custom pricing and account limits warrant a close fit check.

Key features

App Lock and Kiosk Mode restrict devices to approved apps, making Moki relevant when a device should serve a defined business purpose rather than general use. Remote enrollment spans Android Zero-touch, Android Agent pre-registration, Apple Device Enrollment Program, and bulk BrightSign enrollment. That range can reduce setup work across mixed device deployments.

Central monitoring covers network status, battery, location, memory, and application health. Administrators can troubleshoot remotely, reboot devices, configure them, and install or update apps centrally. These controls matter most for distributed deployments where local intervention is costly; they are less compelling for teams managing only a few devices in one location.

Moki connects with Apple Business Manager, Apple Volume Purchase Program, Google Play app management, and existing content management systems. Its Android and iOS APIs and SDK support custom application management and monitoring, giving developers room to extend the platform. Moki says it completed SOC II certification in 2024.

Pricing

Moki is paid, with custom pricing and a free trial. Its Moki MDM plan is priced per device per month, but the price is custom. The plan allows up to 10 account users; additional users cost $15 per user per month. API calls are capped at 500 per hour per account. These account-level limits are important for larger administrator teams and integrations that generate frequent calls, so clarify expected usage and fees before committing.

The terms also allow up to 24 custom events per device per day, with a maximum of 24,000 per account daily. The trial provides a chance to assess the platform before buying, but no trial length is given.

Platforms

Moki supports Android, iOS, web, and API access, and deploys as a cloud service. It also supports browser and app lockdown, remote reboot, and remote configuration. This combination suits teams managing dedicated devices across mobile operating systems, but the cloud deployment is not a fit for organizations requiring a self-hosted management platform.

Who it's for

Moki is aimed at organizations from small businesses to large enterprises managing dedicated devices across business locations. It is particularly appropriate where kiosk restrictions, remote enrollment, fleet health visibility, and centralized app updates are all operational requirements. Teams needing an inexpensive option for a small fleet or a self-hosted deployment should compare alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pros: Combines lockdown, varied enrollment methods, health monitoring, and remote administration for dedicated-device fleets, reducing the need to piece together separate management workflows.
Pros: APIs and mobile SDKs support custom application management and monitoring, which can suit deployments with developer-owned apps.
Cons: Custom pricing makes costs harder to compare before contacting the company.
Cons: The 10-user allowance and per-extra-user charge can raise costs for larger admin teams, while the API and custom-event quotas may constrain high-volume integrations.

Alternatives

For a broader kiosk-software shortlist, browse Kiosk Management Software.

Choose Fully Kiosk Browser if an Android-focused option with a one-time PLUS license is a better fit; it also supports API and web platforms, but its PLUS plan price is custom.

Kiosk Browser is worth comparing when per-device remote management pricing matters: its listed rate starts at £1.00 / $1.60 per device per month for 1–199 devices, with lower listed tiers at higher volumes.

Consider KioWare if Linux, Windows, or self-hosted platform support is central to your choice; its paid Starter plan is billed per device, annually, with custom pricing.

KioskCore offers a free plan for up to two devices, which may suit a very small deployment that can work within its seven-day metric history and other free-plan caps.

SureAsset is a free alternative for asset lifecycle management and hardware and software license tracking, rather than a direct substitute for Moki's dedicated-device controls.

KioskSide is another paid option for teams considering Android, Linux, web, and Windows platforms.

Kiosker offers Android and iOS support with a 7-day trial, and its listed subscriptions cost $6.99 per month or $24.99 per year.

FrontFace is a paid alternative for Android or Windows players; its subscription includes one player, updates, support, and cloud publishing, with custom pricing.

Verdict

Moki is a good choice for teams that need a single cloud platform to lock down and operate dedicated mobile devices across locations, especially when enrollment options and developer interfaces matter. Its main drawback is buying uncertainty: custom pricing plus account and usage limits make it essential to confirm costs and quotas against the intended fleet before choosing it.
