Overview

Vertical Booking brings online and offline hotel sales into a central reservation system. Its modules include a booking engine, channel manager, GDS, central reservation office, metasearch, experience and gift-voucher booking, and a booking engine app. That breadth can help teams coordinate several routes to market, but a property with a narrower distribution need should weigh whether it needs the wider system.

The company says it has served hospitality businesses since 2006 and became part of the Zucchetti Group in 2017. Its stated customer base includes groups, business and leisure properties, apartments and residences, and independent hotels.

Key features

Distribution and direct bookings

The channel manager synchronizes rates and availability with distribution channels through replicative and transactional interfaces. APIs support property management system integrations, and the company names Booking.com, Expedia and Agoda as connected channels. The booking engine supports direct reservations and can offer guests services and packages alongside a stay. Together, these functions suit properties managing third-party distribution and direct sales, though the exact fit depends on their channel setup and integrations.

Reservation workflows and revenue rules

The central reservation office helps staff handle quote and booking requests arriving by phone, email, website forms and walk-ins. Revenue rules can automate pricing and restriction changes as occupancy fluctuates. These tools are relevant to teams handling both centralized and property-level requests, and operators looking to adjust rates and restrictions in response to occupancy.

Reporting and mobile access

Real-time reports and statistics cover bookings, channels, corporate clients, and room or product distribution, with reports downloadable to Excel. The iOS and Android back-office app lets staff monitor bookings, edit rates and availability, and view sales reports. That combination supports teams that need operational visibility away from a desktop as well as data for further analysis.

Support and data protection

Customers can contact the help desk by emailing support.vb@zucchetti.it, which opens a support ticket. The company's GDPR document states that booking-related credit card information is stored according to the PCI-DSS standard.

Pricing

Vertical Booking is paid software with custom pricing. There are no published plan tiers or prices to compare, so buyers should request a quote and confirm the modules and integrations included for their channel setup. This makes it harder to assess cost against a narrower channel-management product before speaking with the company.

Platforms

Vertical Booking is available on web, Android and iOS, and offers an API. The mobile app's stated back-office functions include booking monitoring, rate and availability editing, and sales reporting; APIs support property management system integrations.

Who it's for

Vertical Booking is a strong candidate for groups, independent hotels, business and leisure properties, and apartments or residences that need distribution, direct booking, reservation-office workflows and reporting together. It is less compelling for a property that needs only channel management and does not need the wider CRS modules.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad hotel sales coverage: Distribution, direct reservations, GDS, metasearch, experience and gift-voucher booking, and reservation-office workflows sit within one CRS.
Automated operational controls: Revenue rules can change pricing and restrictions as occupancy fluctuates, while the app supports rate and availability edits on mobile.
Useful reporting scope: Real-time reports cover bookings, channels, corporate clients and room or product distribution, with Excel downloads.

Cons

May exceed a narrow need: Properties looking only for channel management may not need the broader set of CRS modules.
Custom pricing: Buyers need a quote to evaluate cost and confirm which modules and integrations are included.

Alternatives

For a focused channel-management comparison, start with Hotel Channel Management. Consider CultSwitch if a paid web-and-API channel manager with commission-based pricing is a better fit. Beds24 is an option for teams that value a published pay-as-you-go price: its basic monthly fee for a hostel with one dorm and one bed is 15.90 EUR per month, billed monthly with no minimum term, and it offers a free trial.

RateTiger Channel Manager, Oracle Payments Cloud Service, AxisRooms Channel Manager, Cloudbeds Channel Manager, eZee Centrix and YieldPlanet Channel Manager are other paid options to compare.

Verdict

Choose Vertical Booking if your hotel needs distribution, direct reservations, reservation-office workflows and reporting within one CRS. Its main advantage is that broad operational coverage; its main drawback is that custom pricing and the wider scope may be a poor fit for properties that only need channel management.
