Overview

Clients can book online around the clock against real-time availability, while appointment updates help keep visits current. For the business, the platform joins scheduling with client tools and commerce, rather than focusing on booking alone. Its headquarters are in London, and its plans cover UK privacy and data-protection requirements.

The breadth is appealing for a service business consolidating its basic operations. However, the Free plan is limited to one staff member and one location, and the 1.85% + 20p fee on each Nexaloom payment remains in place even on paid plans. Businesses should weigh those costs against the convenience of combining tools.

Key features

Scheduling and communication

Google Calendar, Outlook and iCal synchronization can keep appointments aligned with existing calendars. Email reminders are included on Free; Starter and Pro provide 50 reminder SMS per staff member. That allowance gives growing teams a defined text reminder budget, but businesses sending more texts should account for the cap.

The beta AI booking assistant handles client questions and bookings through WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and website chat. Its range of channels may suit businesses whose clients already use social messaging, though its beta status makes it less compelling as a sole booking route. Homepage integrations include Stripe, Xero, Google Calendar, Klaviyo, Google Meet and Zoom.

Website, commerce and mobile

The website builder combines online booking and e-commerce with mobile-ready design and SEO tools. Custom-domain support can give a business a branded web presence while keeping booking part of the same flow. Nexaloom's iOS and Android apps support business bookings, calendar checks and payments; clients can use the app to manage visits.

Privacy and payments

All plans include the stated UK data-residency and privacy framework: ICO registration, PCI DSS through Stripe, and coverage under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Nexaloom also says it assesses sub-processors and uses data-processing agreements consistent with UK GDPR Article 28. Payments taken through Nexaloom incur a 1.85% + 20p transaction fee on every plan, and prices exclude VAT, so subscription price alone does not capture operating cost.

Pricing

Nexaloom uses a freemium model, with monthly prices shown in GBP. The 1.85% + 20p transaction fee applies across all three plans; VAT is extra.

Free Plan — 0.00 GBP per month: one staff member, one location, unlimited appointments and email reminders. It suits an independent professional testing a booking workflow, but the single-seat and single-location limits rule it out for a growing team.
Starter Plan — 19.99 GBP per month: up to three staff and 50 reminder SMS per staff. This is aimed at growing beauty businesses; compared with Free, it adds team capacity and SMS but does not remove transaction fees.
Pro Plan — 39.99 GBP per month: up to 10 staff and 50 reminder SMS per staff, with priority customer support. It fits larger beauty businesses needing more seats and faster support, but the same payment charge applies and the SMS allowance remains fixed per staff.

Customer support is included on all plans. For pricing questions, Nexaloom gives hello@nexaloom.co.

Platforms

Nexaloom is available on web, iOS and Android. The mobile apps are relevant for teams that need to check calendars or take payments away from a desktop, while clients can manage visits in the app. Online booking and multi-location support are listed capabilities, though the Free plan's one-location limit makes that tier unsuitable for operating across sites.

Who it's for

Nexaloom is a reasonable fit for independent salon and wellness professionals who want a no-subscription entry point and can work within one staff seat and one location. Starter serves a small growing team that needs up to three staff and a modest SMS allowance. Pro is the more appropriate tier for larger beauty businesses with up to 10 staff and a need for priority support.

It is less suited to a business whose payment volume makes the per-transaction charge unattractive, or whose reminder needs exceed 50 SMS per staff on paid plans. Teams requiring more than 10 staff should look beyond these tiers.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited appointments on Free make it a practical way for a solo professional to establish online scheduling without a monthly subscription.
Pros: Booking, commerce, client tools, calendar sync and mobile business apps cover several routine service-business needs in one platform.
Pros: The assistant spans five messaging and chat channels, giving clients multiple routes to ask questions or book.
Cons: Every Nexaloom payment carries a 1.85% + 20p fee, including on the paid tiers, with VAT on subscription prices as well.
Cons: Free stops at one staff member and location; paid tiers cap teams at three or 10 staff.
Cons: Starter and Pro limit SMS reminders to 50 per staff, which may not suit high-volume messaging.

UOVA is the better fit for a website-building need centered on AI credits and published sites: its free plan includes 250 AI credits a month, up to 35 images monthly and unlimited published sites on a UOVA subdomain.
OpenSlot offers core business tools during launch and 0% marketplace commission on its free business plan, with SMS billed separately by usage.

Jiinubi is another paid platform with a free trial.
Zolmi is worth comparing for its START plan at 20.00 USD per month, with the first staff member, extra staff priced at 3 each, stock limited to 10 products and SMS from 0.02.
DaySmart Salon is a paid alternative with a free trial and a Basic plan at 29.00 USD per month for one user, online booking, appointment confirmations, social booking and payments.

Verdict

Nexaloom is a strong candidate for an independent professional or small beauty team that wants booking, client and commerce tools together, especially if a free starting tier matters. Its breadth, calendar connections and mobile apps make the package relevant beyond appointment slots alone. Choose another service if per-payment costs are central to your economics, you need more staff than the paid caps allow, or 50 SMS per staff will not cover your reminder volume.
