Overview

Verisum divides its work among Govern, Monitor and Prove. Govern brings together organisation surveys, AI system and vendor registers, policy generation, shadow-AI tracking, model registries, regulatory feeds and compliance frameworks. Monitor adds drift monitoring, incident logging, escalation workflows, runtime signals, staff declarations and team management. Prove covers decision ledgers, incident locks, attestations, approvals, Trust Exchange, provenance graphs, public verification and on-chain anchoring.

This combination reaches beyond a register or policy tool into operational oversight and evidence. The benefit is a connected governance workflow; the trade-off is that system capacity, seats and proof capabilities differ by plan, so smaller tiers may constrain a growing programme.

Key features

Verisum supports AI system inventories, risk assessments, policies and controls, with UK AI Code, EU AI Act, NIST RMF and ISO 42001 frameworks. That gives teams several frameworks around which to organise governance, while monitoring features link oversight to ongoing operations.

Its HAPP Protocol exposes REST APIs for approvals, attestations, provenance, exchanges, incident locks and public verification. This is useful for teams integrating governance workflows into existing systems rather than keeping evidence isolated in the platform. Verify adds on-chain anchoring of attestations, incident locks and provenance records; Merkle roots can be anchored to EVM-compatible networks including Ethereum, Polygon and Arbitrum, allowing independent verification.

Verisum states that it encrypts data in transit with TLS 1.2 or above and at rest with AES-256 through its managed database provider. Its DPA says customers must not submit UK GDPR special category data. That is a material boundary for organisations whose AI governance work involves such data, regardless of the platform's other controls.

Pricing

Verisum uses a freemium model, with no free trial. The free Explorer plan is billed free forever and includes one assessment, one system, one vendor, one policy, public verification and CSV export. It is a useful entry point for a small evaluation, but the one-system and one-policy caps make it unsuitable as a broad inventory or ongoing programme.

Core costs £129/month or £1,238/year (save 20%). It includes two AI systems, 10 vendors, three AI policies per month, 50 staff, two playbooks and five seats. This is the sensible paid starting point for a small team, though its system and seat limits leave little room for expansion.

Assure costs £499/month or £4,790/year (save 20%). It raises capacity to six systems, unlimited vendors, 10 AI policies per month, 250 staff, unlimited incidents, 10 playbooks and 10 users. This is better suited to multi-system deployments and regulated teams that need incident capacity, but the published limits still cap systems and users.

Verify has custom pricing and includes unlimited assessments, systems and users, cross-organisation Trust Exchange, API access and SSO/SAML. It targets enterprise or high-stakes deployments that need scale and proof workflows; teams should weigh that scope against the custom quote. Verify also includes a dedicated account manager with a named contact and priority SLA.

Verisum offers readiness assessments, continuous governance programmes, AI policy and compliance packs, and cryptographic proof setup as professional services. These can support organisations seeking help establishing governance or proof workflows.

Platforms

Verisum is offered as a cloud service through web and API access. Its REST APIs make it relevant to teams integrating governance actions with their existing stack, while cloud deployment will not suit organisations that require self-hosting.

Who it's for

Core is positioned for startups and scale-ups using AI, especially teams preparing for audit or diligence. Assure fits regulated industries and organisations managing several AI systems or issuing proofs to partners. Verify is aimed at enterprises, regulated industries and high-stakes deployments, including organisations under the EU AI Act.

Verisum Ltd is based in London, United Kingdom, and lists Rob Fanshawe as Founder and CEO. Its stated restriction on UK GDPR special category data makes it a poor fit where that data must be submitted for governance workflows.

Pros and cons

Broad governance coverage: inventory, frameworks, monitoring and evidence workflows sit within one service, which suits teams that want more than policy documentation.
Integration and verifiability: REST APIs and on-chain proof anchoring support workflow integration and independent verification, particularly for Verify customers.
Useful free entry: Explorer offers public verification and CSV export without a subscription, though its single-system cap limits practical coverage.
Capacity rises sharply by plan: Core is capped at two systems and five seats, while Assure is capped at six systems and 10 users; growing teams may need Verify's custom pricing.
Data restriction: customers must not submit UK GDPR special category data, ruling out workflows that depend on handling it.

Alternatives

For a different approach, consider AI governance tools as a broader category. Trusys AI is worth considering for teams seeking self-hosted deployment alongside API and web access; its free Starter plan includes one application and evaluation and telemetry quotas. Openlayer Guardrails is an alternative for teams prioritising API or self-hosted access, with a free Basic tier covering one member and five projects.

Prufer offers a free plan and free trial, but its free tier has limited features and quotas, retains audit data for seven days, and provides no uptime guarantee or SLA credits. AI Verify is a free, open-source toolkit under Apache 2.0 for teams that value a permissive license and Linux or self-hosted options.

AIGIS is a paid option for teams seeking assessments across jurisdictions: its Growth plan starts at $30k/year and covers up to 25 AI systems. Collibra is another paid platform, with custom pricing. Monitaur is a paid alternative for teams considering another API and web platform. OneTrust Third-Party Management is a paid option focused on third-party management, with customized quotes based on admin users and third-party inventory.

Verdict

Choose Verisum if your team needs AI inventory, monitoring and decision evidence together, especially when REST integration or independently verifiable proofs matter. Its strongest case is the span from governance workflows to cryptographic evidence; look elsewhere if you need self-hosting, larger capacity at a fixed public price, or must process UK GDPR special category data.
