Overview

OpenPartner is a partner attribution and payout platform for businesses running referral or affiliate programs, including SaaS and ecommerce teams and creators promoting brands. It suits teams that want partner workflows connected to revenue, with a choice of hosted service or self-hosting. Its clearest trade-off is operational control versus the burden of running the stack and assessing its current compliance posture.

The optional OpenPartner Network gives brands a place to publish programs for creators to discover and apply. OpenPartner is not a link shortener, CRM, fraud-detection ML platform, or merchant of record, so it should not be treated as a replacement for those tools or services. Key features

Attribution and portal: Multi-touch attribution and a 90-day cookie window provide a defined basis for crediting partner activity. A partner portal, links, and campaigns cover core program operations, though the product does not claim to handle fraud detection.
Direct payouts: Automated payouts run through Stripe Connect, with brands paying partners directly rather than OpenPartner holding funds. That custody arrangement is useful for teams comfortable managing payments through Stripe.
Integration paths: API access is paired with documented Stripe Billing webhooks and CRM event workflows for HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Copper, Zapier, and Make. This is a practical fit for stacks built around those systems.
Lightweight browser SDK: The @openpartner/sdk ships ESM and CJS bundles, has no runtime dependencies, and is about 4 KB gzipped. That modest footprint is attractive when adding browser tracking without a large client-side package.
Self-hosting: Docker Compose runs Postgres, the API, click router, and portal on one machine. It requires Docker 24+ and at least 2GB RAM, making it accessible to a small deployment but still an infrastructure responsibility.
Security and compliance: OpenPartner says it uses TLS in transit, encrypts sensitive credentials at rest, supports magic-link authentication and scoped sessions, and keeps an immutable audit trail. SOC 2 Type II is planned, hosted data residency is currently US, and DPA support is available on request; teams with stricter compliance or residency requirements should weigh those constraints before choosing hosted service.

Pricing

OpenPartner has hosted, self-hosted, and hybrid network options. The plan terms make the choice less about feature access alone than about whether a team prefers GMV-linked fees, a fixed subscription plus a smaller revenue share, or its own infrastructure.

Revshare — 3.00 USD per month (billed 3% of GMV, no monthly fee): Includes unlimited partners, links, and campaigns, core attribution and payout features, direct Stripe payouts, Network access, and standard support. It is the lowest-commitment hosted route for programs that prefer fees tied to GMV; the 3% share is the cost to watch as sales grow.
Flex — 491.50 USD per month (billed $49 per month + 1.5% of GMV): Adds full data export alongside unlimited partners, links, and campaigns, revenue-tied affiliate and referral attribution, direct payouts, Network access, and standard support. It fits teams that value exports and want a lower GMV share than Revshare, in exchange for a monthly fee.
Enterprise — custom pricing: Dedicated infrastructure, priority support, custom payout flows, and SLA-backed uptime suit larger or more operationally demanding programs that need service commitments or payout customization.
Self-hosted software — 0.00 USD per free: The open-source core runs on the customer’s infrastructure. This avoids a hosted subscription, but transfers deployment and maintenance responsibility to the team.
Self-hosted + Network access — 293.00 USD per month (billed $29 per month + 3%): Combines the self-hosted core with marketplace-driven partner discovery. It is for teams that want deployment control without giving up Network discovery, with both a recurring charge and GMV fee to account for.

A free plan and a 14-day trial are available. Hosted Revshare and Flex include standard support; Enterprise adds priority support and SLA-backed uptime.

Platforms

OpenPartner is offered as a web product with API access and a self-hosted option. The hosted path avoids operating the Docker deployment; the self-hosted path requires Docker 24+ and at least 2GB RAM on one machine. Teams should choose based on who will own infrastructure and where the hosted US data residency fits their requirements.

Who it's for

OpenPartner is strongest for SaaS and ecommerce operators who need partner attribution tied to revenue, direct Stripe payouts, and CRM or billing event workflows. It also fits teams that want a creator discovery channel through the optional Network, or developers who value API access and a small browser SDK.

It is less suitable for buyers seeking an all-in-one CRM, link shortener, machine-learning fraud detection, or merchant-of-record service. Organizations requiring established SOC 2 Type II status or non-US hosted data residency should also look elsewhere or consider whether self-hosting meets their needs.

Pros and cons

Pro — Flexible deployment: Hosted plans, an open-source self-hosted core, and a self-hosted Network option accommodate different infrastructure preferences.
Pro — Revenue-focused workflows: Multi-touch attribution, a 90-day cookie window, direct Stripe payouts, and documented billing and CRM connections cover a useful partner-program workflow.
Pro — Low-overhead SDK: The roughly 4 KB gzipped browser SDK has no runtime dependencies, a useful constraint for teams mindful of client-side weight.
Con — GMV charges affect hosted economics: Revshare takes 3% of GMV, while Flex still combines a $49 monthly fee with 1.5% of GMV.
Con — Self-hosting is not turnkey: Teams must provide a Docker-capable machine meeting the stated minimums and own its operation.
Con — Compliance boundaries matter: SOC 2 Type II remains planned and hosted data residency is US, which may rule it out for some procurement or residency policies.
Con — Narrow product scope: It does not replace a CRM, link shortener, fraud-detection ML platform, or merchant of record.

Alternatives

Choose SliceWP if a self-hosted, API-capable affiliate tool with yearly pricing and a one-site Pro option better matches the deployment and licensing model; its Pro and Pro Plus plans are 229.00 USD per year and 349.00 USD per year.

UpPromote is worth comparing for a free API-capable starting point: its Free plan is 0.00 USD per free and caps usage at one affiliate program and $3,000 referral review per month.

Consider Refersion when marketplace listing and affiliate applications are the primary requirement; its Marketplace Listing and Launch plans use custom pricing.

Refferq is another API-capable option with self-hosted and managed-cloud plans.

Choose PartnerStack if its paid, API- and web-capable offering, marketplace access, and partner payments align better with the program.

Tracknow may suit teams looking for a paid API platform with a 14-day trial; its Pro plan is 116.00 USD per month billed annually and includes two campaigns/offers, three team members, one tracking domain, and 1,000,000 tracking requests per month.

For a paid API and web platform with annual billing, TUNE offers Enterprise at 899.00 USD per month and Scale at 1500.00 USD per month.

AffiliateWP is an API-capable, self-hosted paid alternative; its Personal plan is 149.50 USD per year at an introductory price, with renewals at full price.

Verdict

OpenPartner is a strong fit for SaaS and ecommerce teams that want partner attribution, direct Stripe payouts, and a choice between hosted operations and a self-managed stack. Its revenue-connected workflows and lean SDK are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if your program depends on broader tools such as a CRM or fraud-detection system, or if hosted US residency and planned rather than completed SOC 2 Type II status do not meet your requirements.
