Overview

Qase is a test management platform for teams that want manual testing, automated runs, and CI results in a shared workflow. It suits QA teams that need requirements traceability alongside test planning and run tracking. Its free plan is a practical starting point, while the paid tiers add room for sustained team use and enterprise controls.

Key features

Testing and traceability

Qase links requirements to test cases and results, making it easier for teams to follow verification from requirement to outcome rather than manage test cases in isolation. Test planning, test run tracking, and QA reporting round out the core workflow.

Automation and AI

Qase says it can convert manual test cases into scripts for Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium. That makes it relevant to teams expanding automation without separating it from test management. Qase AI generates structured test cases from Jira or GitHub issues for review and approval; the approval step leaves teams in control of what enters their test suite.

Its MCP server lets AI coding assistants read test cases and create test runs inside Qase. That offers a route to connect AI-assisted development with test workflows, though teams should weigh it against their own tooling needs.

Integrations and security

Qase lists more than 35 integrations across CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, and issue trackers, including Jira, GitHub, and Linear. This breadth can help teams connect an existing stack, but the value depends on whether their specific tools are covered.

Qase states that it is ISO/IEC 27001 certified and maintains updated SOC 2 and SOC 3 reports. Enterprise adds multi-workspace SSO, SCIM provisioning, MFA, IP restrictions, audit logs, and private attachments, making it the relevant tier for organizations with stronger access-control requirements.

Pricing

Qase uses a freemium model with a free plan, a 14-day Teams trial that requires no credit card, and custom pricing for Enterprise. Teams is 35.00 USD per month per user billed annually, or $42 billed monthly. The annual rate requires a commitment to annual billing; the monthly option costs more per user.

Plan	Price and limits	Best fit
Free	0.00 USD per user/month, free forever; up to 4 users, 2 projects, 500 MB storage, 30-day test history, 5k monthly API results, and 2 active test runs.	Students, hobbyists, educators, and non-profits learning test management basics. The project, history, storage, and run caps make it a constrained choice for ongoing team work.
Teams	35.00 USD per month per user billed annually ($42 billed monthly); 5+ users, unlimited projects, test runs, and storage, 2,000 monthly AI credits, 2-year test history, and 35+ integrations.	Teams that need more capacity and integrations than the free plan allows, with a longer history for reviewing past test work.
Enterprise	Custom pricing for your team; unlimited users and data retention, 4,000 monthly AI credits, dedicated support team, 24/5 support SLA, and dedicated cluster available as an add-on.	Organizations needing extended retention, enterprise access controls, or a dedicated support channel.

The free plan's two active test runs and 30-day history are meaningful constraints for teams managing recurring release work. Teams removes the project and run ceilings and extends history to two years, but still has a minimum of five users. Enterprise is the fit for unlimited retention and additional security controls; its dedicated cluster is an add-on.

Platforms

Qase is available on web and through an API. API access is included among its capabilities, which matters to teams connecting test management to other systems.

Who it's for

Qase is strongest for QA teams that want requirements, test cases, and results connected while supporting both manual and automated workflows. Teams with established Jira, GitHub, or Linear workflows may benefit from its named integrations. It is less compelling for a small team that needs more than four seats or sustained test history but is not ready for the 5+ user Teams plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Requirements traceability connects specifications to verification results, helping teams follow coverage through the testing process.
Pros: Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium automation support sits alongside manual test management, so teams can manage both approaches in one workflow.
Pros: Teams includes unlimited projects, runs, and storage, plus 35+ integrations and a two-year test history.
Cons: Free is capped at four users, two projects, 500 MB storage, two active runs, and 30 days of history, limiting its usefulness for sustained team operation.
Cons: Teams requires at least five users, and its 35.00 USD per month per user price applies with annual billing; monthly billing is $42.
Cons: Enterprise security and unlimited retention sit behind custom pricing, while a dedicated cluster costs extra.

Alternatives

Test Management Software is a broader category to explore when Qase's workflow or plan structure does not fit. For AI-focused case creation comparisons, see AI Test Case Generators.

Testiny is worth considering when a small team values a free plan with up to three users and 1,000 test cases. Klaros-Testmanagement is an alternative if self-hosted or desktop platform coverage matters.

KronoDesk may suit teams seeking a paid support-oriented option with a three-concurrent-agent cloud plan. TestMu AI is a candidate when broad platform coverage and its KaneAI Starter plan are a better match.

PractiTest may be preferable for buyers considering a paid Team plan with unlimited projects and E2E Test Modules. TestMonitor is another paid option, with a Professional plan starting at five users and a stated per-user price range.

Kualitee is an alternative for teams wanting a free plan with one project and stated caps for cases, defects, users, and AI credits. ReadyAPI is a paid option for functional and security API testing.

Verdict

Qase is a strong choice for QA teams that want requirements traceability and manual and automated testing in one connected workflow, with a Teams tier that scales projects, runs, and storage. Look elsewhere if your team needs more than the free tier but cannot meet the five-user minimum, or if enterprise retention and access controls are essential without moving to custom pricing.
