Overview

PactSage reviews eight agreement types, including services agreements, SOWs, NDAs, vendor and employment contracts, leases, sale deeds, and settlements; it refuses unsupported types. Clause extraction, risk identification, and term comparison are paired with checks for clause types the document appears to lack. That combination can give a reviewer a useful first pass, but it does not replace legal advice: PactSage is not a law firm and says its output is not legal advice.

Key features

Review findings you can inspect

Each finding includes a source sentence located in the original file, and quotes that cannot be verified are flagged. This gives reviewers a way to check what a risk label is based on rather than treating it as a conclusion. Users can upload PDFs, Word documents, or photographs of signed pages; scanned files are processed with OCR.

Drafting and contract queries

The contract builder drafts for the user's side and checks drafts before export. It supports English, Hindi, or both, while Word export is limited to paid plans. Users can group agreements into a Space and ask questions across them, with answers grounded in retrieved passages. These features suit people who want drafting and portfolio queries in the same service as review; users who need unsupported agreement types will need another workflow.

Obligations and integrations

PactSage tracks obligations, renewal dates, and notice periods, with alerts keyed to the action-by date. Google and Outlook calendar sync and full API access are included only with Enterprise, so teams needing those integrations should account for custom pricing.

Privacy and platform considerations

Uploaded content and prompts go to third-party AI services, including OpenRouter-hosted models and Google Gemini services. PactSage says it does not use documents to train a PactSage model, and describes access controls, server-side session handling, encrypted transport on its hosted service, and scoped workspaces. That may suit teams comfortable with third-party AI processing; organizations that cannot send contract content to those services should look elsewhere.

The service is cloud-based and also has an Android APK for Android 7.0 and above, but it is not on the Play Store. The iOS app has not been released. The APK route may be a drawback for teams that require app-store distribution or iOS access.

Pricing

PactSage uses a freemium model. Its Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows 2 scans and 2 analyses per day, 1 Space, 10 questions per day, 2 contracts, 2 drafts per month, 1 seat, and 1 GB of storage. It is a limited way for an individual to try the workflow, but the small contract and draft allowances make it a poor fit for regular review.

Personal costs 6.91 CHF per month, billed per month (estimated; CHF Checkout; INR). It raises the limits to 10 scans and analyses per day, 10 Spaces, 30 questions per day, 15 contracts, and 20 drafts per month, with 1 seat and 10 GB of storage. This matches the plan's intended individual reviewing what they sign, though it remains a single-seat option.

Professional costs 21.62 CHF per month, billed per month (estimated; CHF Checkout; INR). It includes 50 scans and analyses per day, 50 Spaces, 200 questions per day, 150 contracts, 80 drafts per month, 5 seats, and 100 GB of storage. It is the clearer fit for people reviewing contracts as part of their job, especially when several colleagues need access; priority support is also included with Professional and Enterprise.

Enterprise has custom pricing, billed as custom priced on a call. It includes unlimited scans, analyses, Spaces, questions, contracts, drafts, seats, and storage, plus full API access, SSO, and Google and Outlook calendar sync. Teams that need integrations or fewer usage constraints should weigh that scope against the custom quote.

Platforms

PactSage runs on the web and Android, with API access included for Enterprise. The Android app is distributed as an APK for Android 7.0 and above rather than through the Play Store; there is no released iOS app. Support is available at support@pactsage.com.

Who it's for

Personal is aimed at individuals checking agreements they sign; Professional targets people who review contracts as part of their work. Small teams can benefit from source-linked findings, shared Spaces, and obligation alerts, while Enterprise is the tier for teams requiring SSO, API access, calendar sync, or unlimited allowances. PactSage is less suitable where agreement types fall outside its supported set, app-store Android distribution or iOS is required, or third-party AI processing is unacceptable.

Pros and cons

Pros: Findings include located source sentences, with unverifiable quotes flagged, making results easier to check against the document.
Pros: Review, drafting, portfolio questions, and action-date alerts cover more of the contract workflow than clause extraction alone.
Pros: OCR supports scanned documents and photographs of signed pages, not just digital files.
Cons: The defined set of eight agreement types excludes unsupported documents, which PactSage refuses.
Cons: Free and Personal are single-seat plans, and lower-tier contract, draft, and daily-use caps may limit sustained team work.
Cons: Third-party AI services process uploaded content and prompts, a constraint for teams with strict data-handling requirements.
Cons: Android installation requires an APK, and iOS is not available.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, see Contract Analysis Software.

ThoughtRiver is an alternative with a 6.00 USD per month Starter plan for individuals, including task management, real-time collaboration, customizable dashboards, and advanced analytics.

Verdict

PactSage is a strong fit for individuals and small contract-review teams that want source-checkable findings plus drafting, portfolio questions, and deadline alerts in one cloud service. Its breadth and traceability are the clearest reasons to choose it; look elsewhere if your documents exceed its supported types, your team cannot accept third-party AI processing, or your platform requirements demand iOS or Play Store distribution.
