Overview

Text-to-video, image-to-video and AI avatars sit alongside image and audio tools, with access through web, iOS and an API. The breadth is useful for creators moving among media types, while the maximum video length of 30 seconds keeps Pika oriented toward short assets rather than extended video projects.

Key features

Video Studio is joined by color grading, video extension, soundtrack creation, image editing, character and image studios, and product shots. Pika also offers speech, sound-effect and music apps. That range can reduce the need to switch tools during a creative workflow, although credit-based plans put a finite allowance on ongoing production.

Output resolution reaches 4K, and the platform includes models such as Seedance 2.5, Pika 2.5, GPT Image 2.5, Grok Imagine 1.5 and MiniMax H3. API access supports integration into developer workflows. Top-up credits, however, work only with Pika Create on pika.art—not through the API, MCP, iOS app or old.pika.art—so they are less useful when work spans those routes.

Commercial use is supported on paid access, but the free plan excludes commercial licensing. Enterprise customers can get custom solutions at scale with dedicated support, making that tier the clearest fit for studios and teams needing a tailored arrangement.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and has no monthly credits: users rely on credit packs. It includes all models, no watermark, two parallel video generations and two parallel image and audio generations, but excludes commercial licensing, priority queue and early access to new models. It is useful for limited exploration, not regular commercial production.

Starter costs 10.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for 900 credits per month, two parallel video generations and eight parallel image and audio generations. Starter annual costs 8.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 900 credits per month. The annual option lowers the monthly equivalent by 20%, but requires annual billing. Starter suits lighter paid use; its two-video-generation concurrency remains restrictive for teams running several video jobs at once.

Creator costs 35.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for 3,150 credits per month, eight parallel video generations and 32 parallel image and audio generations. Creator annual costs 28.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 3,150 credits per month. These higher allowances better suit frequent production and parallel work, while still imposing a monthly credit budget.

Fancy is custom pricing, with 8,550 credits per month and up and unlimited parallel generations. Fancy annual costs 76.00 USD per month, billed annually, and includes 8,550 credits per month or more. Enterprise is custom pricing, with custom monthly credits, all models, unlimited parallel generations, a commercial license and dedicated support. Choose the scale-oriented tiers when lower concurrency or credit allowances would constrain production.

Monthly plan credits do not roll over; purchased top-up credits expire after 365 days. Plans can be canceled anytime and remain active through the billing period, but payments are non-refundable.

Platforms

Pika is available on web, iOS and API, with cloud and mobile deployment. Support channels include email, community and documentation. The platform lists fit for solo users, small businesses, mid-market teams and enterprises, though the custom Enterprise tier is the most clearly team-oriented offer.

Who it's for

Pika is a strong fit for creators who need several generative media and editing workflows, short video output, or API access in one platform. It is less suited to users who need clips longer than 30 seconds, free commercial licensing, or top-up credits usable across API and app access.

Pros and cons

Pros: Video, image, audio, speech and editing tools are combined with text-to-video, image-to-video, AI avatars and output up to 4K.
Pros: API access and multiple parallel-generation tiers support integration and higher-throughput workflows.
Cons: Clips max out at 30 seconds, limiting its fit for longer video.
Cons: Free use has no monthly credits, only two parallel video generations, and no commercial license.
Cons: Credits do not roll over, and top-ups cannot be used through the API or iOS app.

Alternatives

HeyGen is worth considering when a reader wants a free plan capped at three videos per month, each up to one minute. Runway may suit users seeking a free-forever allowance of 125 one-time credits and 5 GB of storage, or a Standard plan at 12.00 USD per month billed annually. TikTok Symphony Creative Studio offers a free plan with weekly video-generation credits, with unused credits expiring weekly.

Kling AI, Synthesia, LTX Studio, Pollo AI and Visla AI Video Agent are alternatives to compare. Browse AI video generators or AI Photo Animation Tools to explore category options.

Verdict

Choose Pika if your team or creative practice benefits from video, image and audio generation plus editing in one API-enabled platform, especially for short assets and 4K output. Look elsewhere if your work depends on longer clips, free commercial rights or top-up credits shared across access points.
