Overview

PushPress is gym-management software for independent fitness businesses that need to coordinate classes, members, payments, and outreach. Its breadth makes it a stronger fit for an operating gym or studio than for a solo trainer looking only for client programming. The main trade-off is clear: a free entry point comes with much higher payment-processing rates than Pro or Max.

PushPress says it serves more than 5,000 studios and supports businesses including CrossFit gyms, martial arts schools, strength gyms, and boutique studios. The product comes from a company founded in 2013 and based in Claymont, Delaware.

Key features

Scheduling and member operations

Recurring class templates, capacity controls, waitlists, coach substitutions, and automated handling of no-shows or late cancellations address the practical work of running a changing class schedule. Online booking, member management, automated billing, and digital waivers extend the system beyond the calendar. That makes PushPress relevant to gyms consolidating routine operations, though the payment rates should weigh heavily in plan selection.

Marketing, access, and integrations

PushPress Grow provides lead-capture forms and landing pages, automated email and text messages, social integrations, WhatsApp messaging, and member-engagement workflows. It is the plan for a business that needs CRM and outreach capabilities, but its $329.00 USD per month price is a substantial commitment alongside core software costs.

Integrations include Stripe, Zapier, Slack, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Google Calendar, Facebook Ads, HybridAF, and Kisi. HybridAF and Kisi can tie gym door-access permissions to membership status, a useful connection for facilities seeking to align entry access with membership. PushPress also says its onboarding team imports member and business data from other gym platforms and provides white-glove migration support.

Apps and support

The Member App runs on iOS, Android, and the web. The Control Panel is web-based and works in desktop, laptop, and mobile browsers. Free customers get self-serve resources and AI support, with a 48-hour response time for human assistance. Pro and Max add live human responses and optional video support calls, which may matter to operators who need more direct help.

Pricing

PushPress has a freemium model, but the no-monthly-fee plan is not automatically the cheapest choice for a gym processing meaningful revenue. Free charges 4.99% + .30 for credit cards and 2.89% + .30 for ACH. Pro and Max reduce those rates, so compare the savings against their monthly fees before choosing.

Plan	Price	What it includes and who it suits
Free	0.00 USD per free	No monthly fees, with unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff. Best for trying the core model or keeping fixed software costs down; the higher processing rates and more limited support are the trade-offs.
Pro	159.00 USD per month	Unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff; processing is 2.89% + .30 for credit cards and 0.79% + .30 for ACH. A fit for a gym whose processing savings and support needs justify a recurring fee.
Max	229.00 USD per month	Unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff; processing is 2.75% + .30 for credit cards and 0.79% + .30 for ACH. The lower card rate than Pro may suit a business where card volume makes the price difference worthwhile.
Train	79.00 USD per month	Workout tracking for up to 20 clients. This is a narrower option for coaching rather than a substitute for the broader gym-management plans.
Grow	329.00 USD per month	Full CRM with automated workflows, email/SMS, and websites. It suits studios investing in lead capture and member communication.
Branded App	8197.00 USD per month	White-labeled mobile app. This is a specialized, high-cost option for a business that needs its own branded app experience.
Full Stack	559.00 USD per month	All features combined in one package. It is for operators who want the broadest package rather than selecting narrower offerings.

Free, Pro, and Max each specify unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff, so no seat cap is stated for those categories. The difference that stands out is processing cost: Free's card rate is 4.99% + .30 versus 2.89% + .30 on Pro and 2.75% + .30 on Max; its ACH rate is 2.89% + .30 versus 0.79% + .30 on either paid plan. The paid plans also include stronger support terms. The published Train limit is 20 clients. No trial or renewal term is stated for PushPress plans.

Platforms

PushPress supports Android, iOS, and web. The member-facing app covers all three; the control panel is accessed through a web browser, including on mobile.

Who it's for

PushPress makes the most sense for independent gyms and studios that run scheduled classes and want member administration, payments, booking, and communications in one system. Its scheduling controls suit class-based operations, while Grow addresses studios that also want automated lead and member outreach. A solo trainer focused on tracking a small client roster may find the gym-wide scope excessive; Train's 20-client cap is worth noting for that use case.

Migration support can help a gym moving from another platform, and access integrations with HybridAF and Kisi are relevant to facilities that connect membership status to door permissions. Businesses should still compare their expected payment volume with the monthly plan cost rather than treating Free as costless in practice.

Pros and cons

Broad gym operations in one product: scheduling, booking, member records, automated billing, waivers, and communications address more than calendar management.
Useful class controls: waitlists, capacity management, coach substitutions, and no-show or late-cancel automation target common scheduling demands.
Free plan has no monthly fee: unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff lower the barrier to entry, but elevated card and ACH rates can offset that advantage.
Payment economics require scrutiny: Pro and Max cut processing rates but add monthly fees, so the better option depends on transaction mix and volume.
Support changes by tier: Free relies on self-serve and AI support with 48-hour human response, while Pro and Max offer live human responses and optional video calls.
Some specialized options are costly or constrained: Grow is $329.00 USD per month, Branded App is $8197.00 USD per month, and Train is limited to 20 clients.

Alternatives

For a training-focused alternative, ABC Trainerize has a free tier limited to one coaching client and one client seat, with Grow at $9.00 USD per month for two client seats. Choose it when a small coaching roster matters more than gym-wide member operations.

My PT Hub is another option for trainers; its Starter plan is $22.50 USD per month when billed annually and includes three clients, 50 workouts, and 50 nutrition plans. It is worth comparing when those coaching limits align better with a trainer's needs than PushPress's gym-oriented scope.

SharkFit offers free meal and workout logging for individuals and quoted pricing for its business/gym plan.

GymKonex provides a Starter option at 149.99 XAF per year for one location, five staff accounts, and 50 members, and a Starter plan at 15000.00 XAF per month. Consider it when those stated location and member limits match the operation.

Gymkee is a paid alternative with a Starter plan at 34.00 USD per month and an annual Starter option at 28.00 USD per year, billed annually, for up to five active clients and 3,500 Dwayne AI credits per month. Its client ceiling points to a narrower use than PushPress for gym-wide administration.

GymViz starts at $99.00 USD per month for one branch and up to 500 members, with ZKTeco biometric access, WhatsApp automation, FTA VAT invoicing, member management, and basic analytics. Choose it when those stated branch, member, and access needs are the priority.

NOWFit has a $149.00 USD per month DIY plan for up to 25 active clients with all platform features included; its Done With You plan has custom pricing. It is an option for a capped client roster or a buyer considering its done-with-you offering.

yMove offers a $39.00 USD per month Starter plan for up to 20 paying users, with app-store submission, subscription payments, push notifications, and email support. Consider it when that user scale and app-publishing focus better fit the need.

Browse Gym Management Software for broader gym operations options, or compare Class Scheduling Software and Fitness Studio Scheduling Software if scheduling is the main requirement. Studios focused on outreach can review Gym Marketing Software; trainers can compare Personal Trainer Scheduling Software. For a branded app project, see Gym App Builder Software.

Verdict

PushPress is a strong fit for an independent gym or studio that wants class scheduling, member administration, payments, and marketing capabilities under one roof. Its main advantage is the breadth of gym operations and class controls; its main caution is that the free tier's processing rates are high, while the paid plans and specialized packages carry meaningful monthly costs. Choose it when those operational tools justify the economics, and look elsewhere if a small coaching roster or a narrower scheduling need is the priority.
