Overview

Guards log patrol activity by scanning QR codes, NFC tags or beacons. Managers can schedule patrols, track GPS location, monitor missed checkpoints and receive real-time alerts. This combines verification and incident response in one workflow, rather than treating a completed route as the only measure of coverage.

The mobile app supports text, image and audio messages, including incident and SOS reports. On the web, managers can assign checkpoints, manage users and schedules, handle incidents remotely, and export reports to PDF or Excel. The AI Assistant answers questions about supported QR-Patrol data and performs supported actions in natural language; its usefulness depends on whether the team's needs fall within those supported data and actions.

Key features

Checkpoint verification: QR codes, NFC tags and beacons give teams several ways to record patrol activity.
Monitoring: GPS tracking, scheduled patrols, real-time alerts and missed-checkpoint monitoring help supervisors spot coverage gaps.
Incident reporting: Guards can send text, images and audio from the app, including SOS reports, giving managers more context than a checkpoint log alone.
Web management and exports: User, schedule and checkpoint management sit alongside remote incident handling and PDF or Excel reporting.
API access: Pro and Gold include an API for connecting with external systems such as alarm receiving centers, BI tools and HR systems. Base lacks this stated integration option.

Pricing

QR-Patrol has no free plan and offers a free trial. All three plans are priced per guard, per month, with annual billing available. The listed starting prices are 3.20 USD per month for Base, 6.15 USD per month for Pro and 11.10 USD per month for Gold. Each tier uses the same guard bands: 1–3, 4–9, 10–24, 25–49 or 50–100 guards; teams above 100 must request a quote. Because the price is per guard, total cost rises with staffing, so teams should compare the relevant band rather than treating the starting figure as a flat account price.

Base is the lowest-cost entry point for teams that do not need the API access specified for higher tiers. Pro or Gold are the relevant choices when API integration is required, though the plan facts do not establish other differences between those two tiers. Cloud hosting is listed across all plans. Self-hosted deployment is available upon request, making it an option to discuss rather than a stated default plan configuration.

Platforms

QR-Patrol supports Android, iOS, web, API and self-hosted deployment. The combination suits teams that need mobile patrol logging with browser-based administration or system integration. Self-hosting is available upon request; cloud hosting is included across plans.

Who it's for

QR-Patrol is aimed at security guards, lone workers and industrial workers, with security firms and corporate security among its stated industries. It is most compelling for operations that need checkpoint verification, live monitoring and incident reporting together. A smaller team seeking a free starting tier may prefer a freemium alternative instead.

Terracom says it uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial and technical safeguards, but does not guarantee information security. Customer data remains accessible through the web application for 15 months; it may remain in databases for two years after account deactivation. Those retention terms matter to organizations with specific data lifecycle requirements. The maker says its team focuses on fast response, reliability and customer support.

Pros and cons

Pro: QR, NFC and beacon verification give patrol teams multiple checkpoint methods.
Pro: GPS, missed-checkpoint monitoring, alerts and mobile incident reports link routine oversight with exception handling.
Pro: PDF and Excel exports, plus API access on Pro and Gold, support reporting and connections to external operations systems.
Con: There is no free plan, and per-guard billing means costs scale with headcount.
Con: API access is confined to Pro and Gold, so teams needing integrations cannot rely on Base.
Con: Self-hosted deployment is upon request, not a standard hosting choice across the listed plans.

Alternatives

Security Guard Software is a category directory for comparing options across the broader segment. guardtour.app is worth considering when a free tier matters: it offers five checkpoints, unlimited controllers, one site and 30-day history, with QR and NFC verification and iOS and Android apps.

Guardix is another paid option with a free trial; its Starter plan is $8.99 per user, per month, up to 50 guards, and includes a basic AI assistant and guard scheduling. GuardTrac may suit teams seeking a free start with up to five users, one client location, live guard tracking, shift management and basic reporting.

Security Guard App offers a free-forever plan for a single user, while GuardConnect has a free plan for 1 to 10 officers. GuardsPro, PatrolLIVE and THERMS are also alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Choose QR-Patrol if your security operation needs verified patrol rounds, GPS oversight and mobile incident reporting managed together, with API access available on higher tiers. Its main trade-offs are per-guard costs, no free plan and self-hosting only upon request. Teams that need a free tier or a flat-cost alternative should look elsewhere.
