Overview

Responsive is a proposal-response platform for teams handling RFPs, RFIs, due diligence questionnaires, and security questionnaires. It suits organizations that need to reuse trusted content across those workflows and connect response work with existing business tools. Its strongest case is a broad response workflow paired with AI drafting; the $10,000-per-year entry point makes it a substantial commitment.

Key features

Responsive AI drafts tailored answers from organizational content and successful past responses, while the TRACE Score rates each generated answer for trustworthiness, relevance, accuracy, completeness, and explainability on a 0–100 scale. That combination is aimed at teams that need more than generated text: the score gives reviewers a structured way to assess drafts, though the platform still centers on teams’ own trusted content and subject-matter expertise.

Response projects cover RFPs, RFIs, due diligence questionnaires, and security questionnaires. The platform also offers reusable content, collaboration, analytics and reporting, custom branding, client activity tracking, CRM integrations, and built-in e-signatures. In Microsoft Word, users can search and insert AI-recommended Responsive content, and edit library files through Office Online—useful for teams whose proposal work remains tied to Word documents.

Responsive connects with more than 30 solutions across CRM, cloud storage, collaboration, productivity, and SSO. Pre-built connectors include Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Box, Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Google Chat, Teams, and Slack. Its API Connector is a purchase option with Emerging Edition and included with Growth and Enterprise; calls above 5,000 in a 24-hour period may be delayed, a practical constraint for high-volume integrations.

Responsive states that it is SOC 2 compliant and certified to ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and ISO 42001, and compliant with GDPR and CCPA. Standard Support is offered by phone, chat, or email 24 hours Monday through Friday. Premium Support adds faster ticket responses and expert advice.

Pricing

Responsive has no free plan. Emerging Edition starts at $10,000 per year, billed annually, and includes unlimited response projects, content and collaboration, an AI and automation studio, integrations and access control, plus administration, reporting, and support. It is the defined starting point for teams that can justify an annual platform subscription and do not need the higher editions’ listed capabilities.

Growth Edition has custom pricing and includes Emerging Edition features plus Intake Request, LookUp and eSignature, advanced integrations and access controls, and premium deployment and support. It is the more relevant fit for teams that need those workflow and deployment additions, but requires a sales conversation to establish cost. Enterprise Edition also has custom pricing; it adds flexible custom AI, enterprise security and controls, advanced reporting, and premium connectors to Growth. That makes it the tier to consider when those capabilities are central, though its cost must be evaluated with the team’s needs.

The API Connector’s separate purchase option on Emerging Edition matters to buyers planning integrations; it is included in Growth and Enterprise. The 5,000-call-per-24-hour threshold may affect integration workloads. No trial is offered in the plan details.

Platforms

Responsive is available on the web, through an API, and as an extension. That combination supports browser-based response work as well as integration into other systems, with API access subject to edition and call-volume terms.

Who it's for

Responsive is best suited to sales, proposal, and subject-matter teams that repeatedly answer buyer questionnaires and can organize trusted content for reuse. It is a stronger fit for organizations that value CRM, storage, and collaboration connections, Word integration, and formal security controls than for small teams seeking a free or low-cost starting point.

Pros and cons

Pros: Covers several questionnaire and proposal formats, with AI drafts grounded in organizational content and prior successful responses.
Pros: TRACE Score evaluates five dimensions of generated answers, giving review teams a defined assessment framework.
Pros: Broad integrations, Word support, built-in e-signatures, and named security certifications support established enterprise workflows.
Cons: The $10,000-per-year starting price and lack of a free plan put it beyond many small teams’ budgets.
Cons: Growth and Enterprise use custom pricing, so buyers cannot compare their full cost from the stated annual entry price alone.
Cons: Emerging Edition’s API Connector costs extra, and calls above 5,000 per 24 hours may be delayed.

Alternatives

Consider Bid Responder if a free plan, trial, or lower monthly entry point matters: its Starter plan is $29.00 USD per month and includes three team members, 10 projects per month, and 250 AI answers per month. Choose RocketDocs for a deployment-customized approach with plans starting at $18,500 per year and typically five to 10 core users plus unlimited SMEs. RFP.ai is another option for teams seeking a lower-cost monthly plan: Starter is €49 per month, or €40.83 per month billed annually, with five users, unlimited projects, 1M tokens, and 1K pages per month.

For bid-opportunity discovery and submission rather than a broad questionnaire-response workflow, BidNet Direct has a free Basic plan for member-agency opportunities, browsing and submitting bids, and real-time bid matches. Stotles offers a free tier with three AI bid/no-bid reports, while Sales Studio Basic is £75 per month and includes upcoming expiring contracts and live chat support. Tendor Workspace uses a custom package scoped to tender workflow, team setup, and rollout needs. Smart Tenders has a free plan and a £49-per-month founding plan for suppliers testing a repeatable tender workflow, including one saved sector filter and one active tender pack. Tenderbolt uses custom pricing tailored to team size and RFP volume.

Verdict

Responsive is a strong choice for established proposal teams that need repeatable questionnaire workflows, reusable organizational content, AI drafting, and integrations into a mature business stack. Its main reason to choose it is the breadth of those connected response capabilities; its main reason to look elsewhere is the $10,000-per-year floor, compounded by custom pricing for higher editions and API limits that matter to high-volume teams.
