Overview

Shiken brings meeting capture, AI coaching and roleplay, content creation, and learning delivery into one platform. It is best suited to creators, coaches, and business teams building learning or sales-development workflows around existing workplace tools. Its breadth is useful, but the Free plan’s small AI quotas and the Creator plans’ enrollment and trial conditions warrant a close look.

Key features

Shiken can record meetings with or without a bot, then draw on recordings, documents, PDFs, YouTube links, and web pages as source material. It can turn that material into summaries, roleplays, proposals, slide decks, courses, and quiz questions. That range can connect workplace conversations to follow-up learning content, though the Free plan’s monthly AI caps constrain how often users can generate it.

Roleplays feature lifelike characters, rubric-based scoring, and support for more than 40 languages. AI coaching scorecards, development plans, manager dashboards, and call analysis make the product relevant beyond individual study: sales and leadership teams can use it for structured practice and coaching as well as content delivery.

Integrations span more than 3,200 apps, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365, Zoom, Google Meet, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. A public API and webhooks add options for teams that need custom connections. LMS support includes LTI 1.3 connections, SCORM export, and xAPI completion reporting, giving organizations several ways to fit Shiken into existing learning systems.

Shiken states that it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, and that it does not train third-party models on identifiable customer content or learner data. Enterprise controls include SSO/SAML, SCIM provisioning, role-based access, and regional data residency options—useful considerations for organizations evaluating access governance and data handling.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 GBP per free and is free forever, with no credit card or time limit. It includes unlimited recording and transcription with a 30-day history, but only 5 AI summaries per month, 10 roleplay turns, 10 AI chats, and 5 AI notes. It is a practical way to try meeting capture and light AI use; regular content creation or repeated roleplay will run into the quotas.

Solo Creator costs 99.00 GBP per month with annual billing and includes 500 enrolled learners. Creator Team costs 299.00 GBP per month with annual billing, covering 2 admins, 5 communities, and 2,500 learners; extra admins are charged separately. These tiers give creators and teams defined enrollment capacity, but the annual billing term and per-admin charge matter when estimating commitment and scaling.

The Creator trial lasts 7 days and requires a work email and card on file. Trial accounts are capped at 5 enrolled learners and cannot make public payouts, so it is a limited evaluation for creators planning a public course business. Enterprise uses custom pricing and includes SSO/SAML, SCORM, a dedicated customer success manager, advanced analytics, and enterprise security controls.

Platforms

Shiken is available on web, iOS, Android, and through an API. Native iOS and Android apps extend access beyond the online platform, while the API supports integration work. The combination suits teams that need both learner-facing mobile access and connections to business or LMS systems.

Who it's for

Individual learners can use Shiken for AI-supported study, while creators and coaches can build learning material and roleplay exercises. Its meeting capture, CRM connections, coaching tools, and manager dashboards make it a stronger fit for sales, leadership, and L&D teams that want practice and learning tied to business workflows. It is less compelling for users who need only a narrowly focused study tool and do not need the workplace integrations or content-generation breadth.

Pros and cons

Pro: Meeting capture can feed multiple kinds of learning content, linking workplace source material to summaries, courses, quizzes, and roleplays.
Pro: More than 3,200 app connections, a public API, webhooks, and LTI, SCORM, and xAPI support offer several paths into business and LMS stacks.
Pro: Rubric-scored roleplays in more than 40 languages, paired with coaching scorecards and manager dashboards, serve structured team practice.
Con: The Free plan’s AI allowances—5 summaries and 5 notes monthly, plus 10 roleplay turns and 10 chats—are restrictive for sustained AI use.
Con: Creator access entails annual billing; the trial also requires a card, caps enrollment at 5 learners, and excludes public payouts.
Con: Creator Team charges separately for extra admins, so expansion beyond its 2-admin allocation adds cost.

Verdict

Shiken is a strong fit for creators, coaches, and business teams that want meeting capture, AI-generated learning, scored roleplay, and LMS or workplace integrations in one platform. Its breadth and enterprise connections are the clearest reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if your need is a focused study tool, or if the Free plan’s AI limits and the Creator plans’ annual terms and learner constraints do not fit your workflow.
